I was in the fast track queue as soon as it started, we got the fast track for free when rita broke down and that was very unlucky as 2 rides breaking down as we are in the queue in a row. The fire alarm went off all of a sudden, they evacuated everyone in the preshow room and then everyone left the queue, the whole area was blocked off for the whole day i'm amazed I actually experienced this.
When I went to Alton towers in may an announcement came on the smiler telling someone off for vaping on the ride…. Honestly think you have a problem if you can’t wait to get off a ride just to use your vape imo

Felt like a celeb and got a group photo with all the smiler staff! Unfortunately got stuck on the smiler twice but still cool.

All because some idiot had a loose item on them. There's a really good reason you can't have loose objects on coasters, some people really need to pay attention. Caused a problem and spoilt it for many guests and Towers will inevitably get slated. Well done Towers staff. 👍👌
I can confirm about the wicker man track partially catching on fire! I was outside the queue when the alarms went off. The staff were very fast to evacuate the area and I managed to snap a lil pic of smoke coming from just behind the wicker man. For the rest of the day staff were stationed outside of the queue and predictably it didn’t reopen for the rest of the day.

They wouldn’t give us any info to begin with but later, the area opened back up but just not the ride and i asked one of the staff on the queue entrance what had happened and she said that the smoke was caused by a smoke machine that had malfunctioned but as dan stated, no one was injured

Duno why that would be a bad thing be no air nemesis or oblivion without him the work he's done has literally progressed uk theme parks by pushing for new ideas and working with coaster developers.
