Thank you so much for sharing this. I had written a role especially for him but he passed away before it came to fruition. He was a great talent.

Met Eric at Mennangers Hospital in Topeka Kansas. Warm heart and we both were struggeling with life and transition. Had personal conversation with Eric and in group. What a wonderful heart of warmth and struggle we were both going thru. Some off his words thru our dry out and growth was memorable with in my life.

Martin Short has stated that his character Jiminy Glick is based off of Skip E Lowe and I can really see the similarities in this interview

I find Mr. Lowe to be rude and condescending to Eric in this interview.

I'm so glad my father isn't famous. You would constantly be in their shadow.

No matter what walk of life your father takes, you will always be a shadow of your father

@Kaaawa2000 I got to know Eric at Hazelden in Center City, MN. We stayed in touch and caught up with each other for years after rehab but, unfortunately, he just finally became too difficult and out of it to deal with. He called me on Thanksgiving the year we got out of rehab, and told me he was taking Xanax and drinking heavily - the same thing that put me into Hazelden to begin with. Sad, sad story but, like GreatBig, I'm not surprised.

Fame can be tough on the children of stars and especially if one of the siblings is also famous as Michael his brother was, Cameron Michaels son is another car crash in the making.

Well, the car has well-and-truly crashed there. I feel for him, I really do. Michael has already admitted that one of the major reasons why Cameron is so messed up is because HE was not a good father. He didn't elaborate, but I imagine it had something to do with the fact that he was so all-consumed with his career (and the demands of the job...and the fears that go with it), he prioritised HIS life over the life of his son (who never asked to be born); which is probably what Kirk did to Michael. I imagine Michael probably didn't see much of his father when he as growing up; regardless, I imagine Kirk didn't have much to do with being a father (partly because of the era and partly because he worked in a nomadic profession - he was probably never home, and was most likely sleeping with other women as he rarely even saw his wife or kids).
This is the reality of an actors life - they're screwed up to begin with - which is why they choose a profession where the attention is ALWAYS on them, then they pro-create and lump all of that onto their children. Now, granted not all actors are screwed up, but I'd wager that most of them have some issues that drive them to become actors in the first place...and then they procreate and bring those kids into a crazy world. It is no surprise that many kids of famous people choose to put distance between themselves and their famous associates. It makes for a much easier life.

Right, another actor's son or daughter is the victim! Well, in the end he never straightened up did he?

It really upsets skip when minor actor's of big film stars get arrested, does he also get upset when non privileged people get arrested all the time

These silly crimes are kicking a police officer, DUI and leaving the scene of an accident, possession of crack, driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, other DUIs which involved crashing into other vehicle's.
      Just your average Joe stuff
