Hey Christian,
Remember years back when I reached out to you while visiting NY, said I can't buy any watches, but would love to hang out, and you drove from Jersey (in crazy traffic) to show me around Brooklyn and grab Pizza? Thank you buddy!!
Speaking of fraud. Let’s name our video about 30 seconds of what we talk about and give no details.
...and also not mention the time Christian went down to Texas to meet with TPG and do all the dinners and cars bs...
100%!!! I loved how they talked about the a$$holes in the watch community and then purposely mislead us and point us towards their paywall 🤬🤬 I hate when creators do that. Who's being manipulative and misleading again?
I think theo was in on it all with farrer
When I purchase a vintage watch, I purchase it because it means something to me, sometimes speaks to me, activates nostalgia in me or some other internal-emotive reason. While I am certainly willing to discuss the watch with anyone who shows an interest or comments on it, it is never to act superior to anyone, only indicate my appreciation of the piece.
You’re so late to the party that the beer is out of date….
If everyone stops buying grey market watches…we can finally buy at retail. ADs sell all their inventory via back door to grey dealers then they sell it us at a markup while taking away retail supply. Crazy cycle which hurts the true enthusiasts. The fraud on all levels must end.
100% true, it is the same in Canada. There is a AD in north of Toronto in Markham, the AD actually sells only to visitors from China. Corruption is at the highest in Canada.
Lemme guess, you are one of those people that thinks the government should control house prices or that state funded Healthcare is "free" 😂
There is a limited supply of watches, more people want, than can have. You think the deciding factor of who gets the watches is who should suck the AD's dick the most? What if instead we created a store of value, and whoever wanted to give the most value got the limited item. And what if we used this same store of value to buy and sell all goods and services based on quality, availability, and other factors.
"Why can't everyone just stop trading things at marker value so I can get something for less than market value"
Come on Man you guys gots the VIP treatment from Coach on his Tug Boat Pleasure Cruise!
That attitude is a New York thing. NY makes people insufferable and pretentious. The city makes everyone feels small and everyone overcompensates - very insecure.
Has anyone seen the prices on Nico's site? Was twice market price.
His part of the roman watch cartel.
Just had an amazing tour x Vintage watch Shops through out in both Osaka and Tokyo, grab some and can not stop thinking how fun those moments where, the discovery, the research… how amazing was the actual negotiation moments, translated with what ever I had, considering also the lack of internet access was a super fun nightmare. I love watches..
I love that you not only are inspired by the how awesome the watch community is but that you are won’t shy away from labeling fraud for what it is - that it erodes trust and dampens enthusiasm all while supporting much nefarious activity. I’m inspired by Dr Rebecca Struthers, Zenith’s commitment to providing solid movements, vintage sized Cartier Tanks, Tag Heuer deciding NOT to phone it in, and how G-Shock and Swatch both continue to release exciting new product. Looking down at my Tennis Ball Green GBD-200 with that incredible MiP display, I feel like a kid. Thanks Michael and Christian - you’re enthusiasm is contagious.
It’s very beautiful
Time stamps would really help your long videos.
Why does the dude on the left just looks so awkward! Looks like he is just paid to sit there and say! “Yea”
I went to the ritual site to get your discount and it doesn't work
Anthony needs to do a name change to the crime piece gentleman
Nico is not a good guy…
Love this channel. I am actually studying for a test and can's focus. I had a situation where I wore my No-Date Sub to an event and a guy commented, "well if you're going to buy a sub I guess that's the one to get".
Great conversation fellas.
Nico, Roman, Thorpe, farrer etc all of them are shams
Add Pluta.
Would love to hear your recent podcast on AF….hope you post it here.
I talk like this when I pass a deuce

If you're gonna "address the issue since you've made a video together", at least address it without charging extra for it. What a load of shit..
How about letting me trial without having to enter my CC info, a bunch of BS!
Christopher Ward is awesome. Has anyone seen the new Dragonfly Blue Sealander with the new bracelet? Incredible.
Nope... *Goes and has a look* ... Ooooo that's nice!!!
@@ajcallaway123 😊
I liked the Camry comment. I got a Camry back in 2018, at the time everyone at work that I mange drove a Mercedes and everyone that reported to my direct reports drove a Mercedes. And all looked at me like I’m crazy… but I enjoy my international vacations with my family while they have to ration the miles on their leases.
So I’m happy with my Camry and they are happy with their shiny cars.
That is why so many of these youtuber watch guys selling lux watches in some backroom looks more like drug dealers than watch guys..
👏🏼 the video we didn’t know that we needed! 🎉
Titles their video "Timepiece Gentleman $5M Fraud" for clickbait - after 7 minutes of patting themselves on the back says "We're not going to be talking about the Timepiece gentleman fraud". Boys, I've got news for you. You are part of the problem.
“Dichotomy,” Michael. That’s the word you were searching for. And you’re right. And y’all are firmly on the good side of that divide.
Scottish watches released a podcast interviewing the expert who discovered the fraud on the omega speedmaster. It's a great listen if you want a few more details on the matter.
Perezscope has appeared on the Tim Write livestream channel a few times as well 👍🏻
Thanks. I’m very interested.
Just what is time ? when it's up it's up
Okay, but why do you have a blurred John Cena in your thumbnail?
I agree with the fact it’s ridiculous that a person can be looked down you for their watch. Stupid. My father made millions and he loved a seiko.
So I’m new to buying vintage. What are some sites I can find vintage or preowned that are authentic. I’ve been looking for a medium yellow gold Panthere (26/27mm). I live in Texas but will be in nyc next month if it is better to shop in person.
Fine watches, fine art and fine wine, buyer beware!
“..shill me..” ⛓️
what's the percentage of superclones and Frankenstein Rolex superclones in Chrono24? I've seen slight but noticeable variations in the 226570 reference.
Wheres anna?
All these frauds do down to one thing: greed
And...a very very big issues are stolen watches that are being bought "naked" by some grey market buyers...with a blind eye! Shouldn't that be more exposed?
Why do you guys say the moonswatch bombed. They created lines at dealers for watches that no one's ever made
The idea that it's okay to steal from rich people was always incredibly stupid to me. And clearly coming from a place of bitterness. Also shows how clearly immoral and unprincipled people actually are.
Sorry guys, you lost me at Nico is a great guy🙄 His flexing lifestyle BS and so called comedy act about other people’s collection coupled with very little real collecting knowledge/experience has been one of the main drivers of guys like TPG.
You said it for me. D
You can say he's annoying and too much of a showman, but I take the word of these guys who know Nico personally over your opinion about whether or not he's a great guy or not. You're welcome to your opinion, but I'm rolling my eyes back at you.
@@mrothpsy And I encourage you to exercise your prerogative. Take Care
@fire_watch7735 That doesn't make any sense. Take care.
@@mrothpsy funny how they didn't mention Nico doxxing and threatening another person over delayed payment or actively working with a person he know was a scammer. Yes, what a great guy. You can roll your eyes all the way back to your ass for all I care, keep simping.
The brighter the light, the darker its shadow
I never comment here: You are a force for good. Mean people suck!!
For me certain players in the grey market have deliberately crapped on the entire watch market. I am not playing again until its fully cleaned up and with the recent Farrer stink still fresh and seemingly continuing on unabated…I am patient enough and entertained enough with my current watch collection to wait. Meanwhile, the decent players in the market need to act.
Never trust a guy wearing a hat indoors and who is covered with tattoos. What's the surprise there?
Great video. Nice to hear the authenticity in your message. You both pursue watches you love as opposed to watches the community may suggest you “should love”. Your personal choices to own from within the stables of GS, Nomos, Cartier, Zenith along with embracing 1960’s sizing etc is cool and refreshing in a community that has a tendency to drift towards same same.
Hey Guys! Greetings from Poland!
My only contribution to this discussion is that, for instance, while everyone seem to be over the Nautilus, over the Royal Oak, etc, I, being new to all of this, am NOT over any watch. I think it's important to be clear that an opinion it is is just that, an opinion, and not a judgement on high that says "If you like this watch, you're not (cool)". I would never criticize someone's taste unless they fired first. If you want to wear a giant gaudy whatever, go ahead, you're not hurting me. I just like watches, and I look forward to owning a few in the future.
Absolutely love watching y’all videos. Collab again sooooon!
How beautiful is it? Please, tell us!
It is super beautiful. Beautifully, beautiful!
End of the day, I ultimately decided not to play the grey market markup game.
Scammers in the chat be careful people these scammers have no morals or principles etc...
2:01
As long they're not wearing invicta and olevs I'm good lol. Those damn scammy things should never be exposed to the public
Been waiting on this!!!
His name is Anthony Farrer, and he's no gentleman.
Damnnnn! Can the other guy get a word in???
It’s beautiful to hear the word beautiful 38 times in 8 minutes. So beautiful!
ok!
Loving the new tabloid format. There’s too many channels talking about lug widths and water resistance.
...There is Such Beauty in a BLIGER and a PARNIS and a full pocket because I didn't fall. For the Hype. ....👍😄Ha! (Last laugh. Ahhha! 😮😞)
I can’t help think that if the whole watch scene hadn’t exploded in very recent years and grey market prices for certain watches, and SRPs more widely, hadn’t increased hugely, there wouldn’t be so much fraud and corruption. The colossal sums of money now sloshing around in the watch world inevitably fosters a get-rich-quick-for-going-nothing perception that attracts the dishonest and the schemers, sadly.
Did y’all change the lighting or get a new camera? It looks like it changed in between the 3 watch collection and the Rolex video from a few days ago. Either way whatever has changed it looks really nice!
tugger
Great vid and great takes guys. But Mike, “Cam-Ray” is wild!
does he mean camry? i didnt get it
Should Italians be concerned about talking so passionately with our hands while we wear vintage watches?
Hah 😄 funny!
I'm always fear he is going to knock over the camera, LOL. Gotta love his passion when he talks.
Tugger Tony shined a light on the trash of the grey market dealers!!!
Finally. Been waiting for you guys to address this exact issue.
And they put it behind a paywall, gotta respect the hustle
Except they didn’t. They titled the video incorrectly then pointed everyone to pay for the content they click baited you with here. Actually very disappointed, definitely not listening to the podcast.
I see it here
@@zz-.- I listened, it was really good. It’s $10 to support creators you enjoy listening to. Your sense of entitlement is pretty funny to me.
@@zg1106 lol whatever you say, enjoy the pod champ ✌️
You brought up a lot of really important topics here. Thanks for sharing this and doing your part to keep the hobby fun and interesting.
And that is exactly why I avoid vintage, no matter how much I want a birth year watch. I am an amateur enthusiast without the skills to detect any sort of chicanery. Caveat Emptor, as they say, and I am full-on Caveat!
Indeed. Buy new and directly from the manufacturer.
So no talking about TPG, that was the title of the vid? You got me
Way to bury the lead guys.
I love you guys.
One day I'll come and visit you.
They may not open the door when you knock.
Well said guys! I've been in this game 40+ years. This was a blip on the radar, this fascinating hobby is in good hands!
I wore a G-Shock MTG910 in combat in Afghanistan...
The brands I have that deliver value for their price are Orient, Certina and Zenith. I love my Tudors, Omegas, Longines, Tissot, Casio and Seiko but you pay for more than you get.
Just some honest feedback from somewhat of a long time viewer. I understand the clickbait title but not explaining the story at all and go over the topic and just commenting on the publics reaction is a stretching it for me.
Still love your content, I hope you don't take this the wrong way! keep it going
I'm amazed at how Timepiece Gentleman keeps getting a pass. Crazy.
He is the Hunter Biden of the watch world.
You are sweet boys and I liked your video but we need some ball breaking tolerated too. Nice glasses. Do they make a model for men?
you got to get to the point !!!!!!
Absolutely agree with what Christian said about watch snobbery. And I'm finding it's happening more as reverse snobbery. For example I was recently invited to join an online watch forum group. Being a Rolex collector I posted several of my pieces. From that moment on everyone in the forum ignored all my posts. They gave me the silent treatment. I felt like being bullied so I left the group. Is it really that bad that I happen to collect Rolex? I'm not the snob here. They snobbed me!!
You felt bullied because they didn’t reply to your posts? You are an insecure tool, and they are better off by you leaving that forum.
You felt bullied? Lol cmon. That shit is weak. If you're new and don't state your intentions then just post a bunch of Rolexes of course that's going to rub people the wrong way.
Something I’ve noticed with the new comers to watch collecting is that most of them want to start off by buying a Rolex. Once they get a Rolex, then they start to look at other brands.
I love your age of Deceit rant. I have been collecting Swiss, Japanese and now Chinese watches.
I only buy from authorized dealers so fakes are not much of a concern.
All watches are wearable art. Well said.
I’m an American collector who regularly attends collector meetings in London, Zurich, Geneva etc and I always see the same level of interest & collective enthusiasm and compliments paid to people wearing a common Speedmaster, Daytona, or JLC as others wearing a 1950 Patek 1518, IWC Ref 325 or a FP Journe Double Tourbillon. It’s a shame to hear about insecure newcomers to this world who project their narcissism and lack of civility. I’m always encouraging newer and younger collectors no matter where they are in their collector journey - or even the gentleman who I know has an amazing $multi-million collection who likes to go under-the-radar at such events. It’s more important to me for people to remember how hospitable and gracious I was at any event.
It’s nice to talk about the good things about watches! Love more content like this.
@Theo and Harris-how your brand has helped me--to be honest, you tried describing your brand--to me, T&H is more than a place of hobby, it is an institution to engage in diverse topics we you can learn, open your mind around diverse topics which are related to horology. It has definitely added to my sense of refinement
This kind of nonsense always comes from peoples' need to flex for people they don't know.
Has he filed yet?? Is he still operating under the same llc?
I still feel bad that i gave compliment to the guy somethin like... Wow Lange 1 world time.. And he was.. No it is just regular Lange 1 and he left. I saw it wrong in the light but it felt like im downplaying guy with Lange. So bad
Wore my g-shock for my 60th staying at the savoy hotel 😂😂
Im broke as hell but do people seriously say these people deserved it because they have money?
Envy takes many forms
Very weak and insecure people do, yes.
The politics of envy.
I've heard it said.
I've heard if you wear an Invicta to any one of these watch GTG's they'll laugh you out of the building.
I think you guys put out great videos and I’ve been a long time subscriber. With that said, if your serious about minimizing the negative impact of bad actors in the watch industry you have to call them out by name and share details. Talking around the issue doesn’t help anyone especially potential victims. Also, putting videos behind a pay wall is not the answer. Unfortunately, there is a video of you with said fraudster online so it’s important to get your response out to the widest possible audience.
I like the convo and the content shared. But I hate you used the timepiece gentlemen as title and thumbnail as click bait. And you obviously doesn’t want to discuss it here and point ppl to your podcast. That’s shady man, no difference from other scumbags, all you want is to make $$.
Perhaps I should go to a Watch Event and wear my Vostok Amphibia. They can choke on their opinions.
Anyone see that Adam Levine and Rolex agreed to commission him a special watch for 4 mil. The only picture I've seen has it in the dark and it's fully glow in the dark to read it better than just the hands and numbers being lit
The watch isn’t made by Rolex, it is made by Artisans de Geneve, a watch customiser, hodinkee did a whole video with him which talk about the watch in detail.
@@hugoselce yea I don't watch hodinkee, idk why I just ptefer other channels. But guess I must have read it wrong
@@hugoselce i thought i read it was a Rolex one off but I could def be wronf
@@justinfletcher7630 they also have a website with an article about it
Great video, glad you addressed this. For me, the huge price raises we've seen are the biggest thing pushing people out of the community.
My advice is to look to other brands where value can be found
Nico only bully people who wear Hublot 😂😂😂
There is nothing worse than a watch snob that thinks their super expensive watch makes them better than you.
Or the other way around. It's mostly that the envious is harsh towards the owner of the watch they envy. It's the small chihuahuas who often has the louder bark
It's the best. It's the best feeling in the world when I wear my $12k IWC and look at my colleagues at work like they are subhumans ❤
I know some amazing watch collectors with some incredibly expensive high valuable watches, and they never feel the need to be nobs. And I know some people with more of a low end watch collection that decide to be nobs. The lesson here is to avoid nob heads rich or poor.
@Yorkiepoocharlie Yet still I'm better than you 😂
this isn't an existential threat to collecting or tge industry.
