Intergity test of the building structure must be carried out. After nearly 40 years of abandonment the structure may have been weakened and could pose a safety risk.
This is a welcome development. Even if it won't become a hotel again, it can be turned to a special hospital like Heart Hospital, Sickle Cell Hospital or a general hospital. But most importantly, that river should be dredged and properly cleaned and made to become an attraction. 1:02
Just turn this crap into apartment or government office. No need to restore it back as a hotel b/cos a lot of hotels are seriously struggling and not making profit
But someone has invested in it. They will build houses somewhere the houses you are talking about it should have been done since in the past and moreover its not a govt property the investors have branches they know what to do you should have advised the former govt in past to turn it to apartment or office.
Also you said turn it into apartments its a good idea but also remember the building doesn't belong to govt you heard it worths 2billion naira now the govt pays 2billion to acquire it and then starts renovation how much do you think will be the rent and how much more do you think the govt will spend to renovate and put facilities in it. Then look at the land meaning the govt will have to build more apartments to cover the spaces,so when embarking on a project you look calculate your cost its only private investors can make it profitable and employ people so it could be a company because not only hotels these guys they run probably will be buying products and moving to rwanda from aba.
@@jackdon6926 hotels not making it ??? Have you tried to find out why ??? Most of those whose security agent is also the cook ? And bar- man the waiter + the manager ??? . Hotel requires too much of professionalism , funding , security and management to thrive
2billion naira first and then you start renovating and doing other things its a company outside that can invest in such with there own plans to start something in abia state.
Are you comparing since 1991 even you are not ashamed that so many administrators couldn't build it,but now I know why the governor used investor outside and I know the company they have sky scrappers hotels and companies in rwanda and branches in Europe so this hotel will be connected all round the vision can be seen what this hotel will bring.Nobody is competing with anyone abia is on a rebuilding from down up and aba is coming up the race is not who first start it is who finishes well.

It appears Cubana is no longer interested in taking over the hotel?
Cubana doesn't have the funds to undertake such humongous projects.
