    Thank you so much for this pattern. Your 'Crochet Blanket' is, indeed, a royal piece. / Because of your know-how and relaxing way of teaching the 'chevrons', I succeeded in crocheting them / As for the 'demi-crochet', I have to practice it some more. Meantime, I use the 'bride'. / Your pattern is in my Favoris for further use with the HDC. Mille mercis Diane.

      That is so wonderful ! This is exactly why I designed this way of making the chevron stitch as it is such a tricky one to do. I really appreciate you letting me know that it was helpful to you 🙏. Happy Crocheting 🧶 😀

    Hi there! Beautiful pattern, I'm making my first blanket with it! Just had a little question though.. do you have any advice on how to keep the bigger holes lined up? Mine are going all over the place 😅

    • @crochetwithdiane9309
      @crochetwithdiane9309  2 місяці тому +1

      Hey thanks for your question. It’s all in the counting. When you start a row with your chain stitch that counts as stitch 1. Then as long as you count 8 stitches on each slope the holes should line up. But like any crochet project when you’re beginning it does take practice. I would suggest doing the best you can, follow the video instructions, keep going and you’ll find that as the blanket gets bigger you won’t notice the holes so much. I hope this helps a little 😀🙏

    Hello 👋🏻
    Is there a written pattern for your Chevron half double blanket please. I would purchase the pattern from you as I need it written out to follow along. Thank you.

      Hi I’m so sorry there is no written pattern. I design freehand. I do hope that the video is detailed enough for you to follow. Please don’t not hesitate to ask me any questions about the pattern 🙏

    Is the multiple just 17? Not 17+__=__? Just repeat 17 over til I get my desired number of chains. Thanks

    • @crochetwithdiane9309
      @crochetwithdiane9309  5 місяців тому +3

      Yes, just multiple of 17 until you reach the length ( or width) you want your blanket to be. Hope this helps 😀🙏

    I have a question, can this pattern be mixed with half double and double crochet rows? or will it look weird?

    • @crochetwithdiane9309
      @crochetwithdiane9309  10 місяців тому +1

      Yes, absolutely! This ripple stitch pattern can definitely be mixed with both half double crochet (hdc) and double crochet (dc) stitches. In fact, it is quite common to incorporate different stitches within a ripple stitch pattern to add variation and texture to the design. You can alternate rows of hdc stitches with rows of dc stitches to create a unique ripple effect. Experimenting with different stitch combinations can result in beautiful and customizable ripple patterns. Hope this helps 😀🙏

    How do you determine how long to make the foundation chain. I have only made hats, slippers, and coasters, so far. I have no idea how to judge long I would need to make the foundation chain when i am assuming the "ripples" will have an affect on the length. I have seen blankets made with this stich, that were not even. One side had an little half row at the end that looked very odd to me.

    • @crochetwithdiane9309
      @crochetwithdiane9309  6 місяців тому +1

      Hi Donna, thanks for your question.
      Whenever I’m making a long foundation chain I use a tape measure and stitch markers. Start to make the chain stitch ( counting 17 chains then add a stitch marker). Keep adding 17 chains and putting in a stitch marker in ch 17. Keep measuring the length of the chain until it’s at the width you want your blanket to be. The ripples generally don’t affect the width too much.
      The half row you refer to is created to make the sides straight but it always confuses me too which is why I have simplified this pattern.
      Watch through the video once or twice and see if you think it will help you make this blanket and please ask me any more questions if you need too. I’m sure you can do this 😀❤️

      @crochetwithdiane9309 Thank you so much for the reply. Your pattern is much prettier than the others I have seen, so I wanted to make, but without that odd little half row end.😁😁

    Do you ever have a problem with your ends coming undone? If I done my ends like you have, oh my I’d be afraid of them coming undone. I leave 8-10” tails and tie the two strands of each color change into a tight knot and then I trail the ends of each color with my needle appropriately weaving in and out corresponding color. 😊

    • @crochetwithdiane9309
      @crochetwithdiane9309  5 місяців тому

      Hi, well to date I’ve not had any ends coming undone 🤞. It sounds like you are securing in your ends very well. It is unlikely that they will come undone if you’ve tied a knot. If you’re worried you can always weave the ends in and tie another knot further in.
      The finished blanket that you see in the video is used often as a sofa throw and washes well and no ends have undone. I hope this reassures you a little 😀🙏.
      Also to answer your other question it is always chain 2 at the end/beginning of the row. I think it was a ‘ slip of the tongue ‘ in the video when I said chain 3. So yes it’s always chain 2. Hope this helps and I hope you enjoy crocheting your blanket. 😀

      Hi Trisha, my apologies that the captions have confused you. On a couple of occasions I made the half double crochet slightly incorrectly so I put the captions in so it was clear that you make a half double crochet there. Please ask me if you need any other questions. I hope this helps 😄🙏.
