Yup.. I know why they covered the song this way...
First, thanks Justin for the reaction to this beautiful cover... the old guy with the glasses is the original singer.. and why everyone was amazed is because Forestella rearranged the whole song - like completely!! They sang this song after they got back from Dubai and were influenced by the oriental Eastern vibes there (although you can hardly find any in Dubai) 😂😂😂

FORESTELLA had an expo appearance in Dubai. And here they came up with the idea of creating a song for Arab fans. The original is originally a Korean rock song, mostly instrumental. They completely rearranged it and added new lyrics. Many Arabic and Oriental fans find their music here and describe the singing and vibes as VERY AUTHENTIC. When I first heard it I was completely blown away again. I was and am completely fascinated by these stunning voices and inimitable harmonies.
Forestella member Kang Hyeong-ho has a thousand voices. He attracted attention by singing both male and female parts in ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. He is a vocalist in the pitta band who not only has excellent singing skills, but also writes lyrics, composes, produces, and directs vocals, and plays a pivotal role musically in Forestella. I highly recommend his songs ‘Wave on the Sea(해무)’‘Be Free’ and his cover song ‘Phantom of the Opera’.

Hi. This is a cover. Original singer is the older gentleman who was amazed by the changes because the original did not have this middle eastern vibe. It was stripped down with a guitar. Everyone is amazed by this arrangement. Spread silk and the meaning of the song is basically I’ve covered my heart with silk so you can come into my heart walking on it. 😊
I'm glad you liked Forestella again. They delight every time, they are simply phenomenal. It is also worth seeing "Moonlight", "Warriors", "Save Our Lives" and "Sound of Silence"

The song covered by Forestella is the representative song of a band called "Sanullim," which was formed in 1977. This band consists of three brothers, with the eldest on vocals, the second on bass, and the youngest on drums. The program in the video follows a format where a theme or famous singer is chosen, and they perform a rearranged version of the song in a competition style.
One of their best songs in my opinion, when Woorim comes in you get goosbumps, love everyone's voices. Forestella forever.❤

Heheh …The Three Musketeers 😂It’s exactly how I think of them …swords drawn as they valiantly go forth, to silence critics and naysayers and epically slay all performances especially after that incredible Immortal Songs guest appearance on Kim Soo-Cheul and New Friends episode which aired on 6th January ‘24, singing THE SHOW MUST GO ON by Queen! And they also performed a rearranged Hijo De La Luna there as well.! They did all of that with not a crinkle on their gorgeous outfits nor a drop of sweat on their brow!😅FORESTELLA! ALL FOR ONE! The old man with glass in the audience is the original writer and singer. TO know more about them you have to react to all of the episodes of Forestory and An helpful guide to Forestella 2023 by Awkward Robot ( its a long one but its the most comprehensive and detail oriented one about them.

This song is the San-ul-lim, which perfomed in the 70~80s.
A guy who wear glasses is a leader of the San-ul-lim. That show was that musicians perform its songs at the front of him.

Thankyou for reaction. Much difference with original song. Original song is fork style(we call that 70' 80 songs) when I was teen. It was famous song. They changed a lot. I guess because of songs title. Silk from arabian(silk road). Anyway they are really creative. 😮😮😮

@@jongkim6878Well, I think he has aged well considering when he and his younger brothers formed what became known as SANULRIM /SANULLIM. This song was a hit in the 70’s and considering too that just before they were going to have a comeback a few years ago he tragically lost one of his brothers in a car accident and the music stopped understandably… I felt so moved by his obvious emotion watching the spin Forestella put on his song.

Beyond the perfection of every aspect of the performance, we are immersed in Eastern scales and vocal techniques, this makes Forestella and Dimash absolutely fascinating to our ears. Thank you Justin, Forestella is definitely my favorite group.

This was the Immortal Song’s Kim Chang Won special (the guest panelist) and his band “Sanullim” was one of the most influential rock groups in South Korea, active from the late 1970’s~late 2000’s; their music was unconventional and this song was no exception.
Laying Silks and Satins on My Heart, the title track of their 2nd album with lyrics of a love confession, had a 3min INTRO to the song (when mostly all songs at this time were ~3 mins total). It felt like a vibey-jam session. Forestella said this intro had always given them an Arabian feel for some reason, so they took that and ran with it ambitiously as they related deeply to Sanullim’s experimental approaches to music. The rearrangement is so bewitching, mysterious, whimsical and has such grandeur, it’s a genius composition. Kim Changwon and every guest artist for this episode was duly humbled 😅
Fun facts: Forestella tried extra hard because they had to win this round to qualify for the show’s “King’s of King’s” special, where they get to compete against other winners from other episodes. They were successful 😋
- When Sanullim’s 2nd album dropped, Changwon brought it to a radio station to introduce it and they willingly played the song, but they kept anxiously asking him when the song was gonna “start”… they eventually cut it off around the 3 min mark before the vocals ever came in bc of their radio timings lol

Originalmente ela é cantada pelo senhor q aparece no video algumas vezes, é um pop rock... porém o programa deixou livre a criatividade de como cantar alguma das musicas deles para quem se apresentou no dia.
Forestella havia chegado se sua 1° apresentacao fora da Coreia, foi em Dubai.... e eles transformaram esta musica em algo completamente diferente do original como você ouviu. 😅😅😅😅😅
Eles ganharam junto com um.outro rapaz... foi um empate ... mais a apresentacao deles ficou marcada pela transformação que a musica teve.

Justin, I always enjoy your reactions 😂while also learning from your teaching moments…I would love you to keep those up too. My daughter is a vocal coach as well and when she visits from interstate, and comments on what they’re doing with their voices it fascinates me and I can’t get enough, so it’s good to hear your commentary too. Forestella are a phenomenal vocal quartet, but there is so much more to them than meets the eye even though they openly share a lot about their lives. I find I’m really curious about the choice of arrangement, the song choice, the interpretation, staging etc . I believe The tenor soprano Kang HyungHo is in charge of Vocal Arrangements and production and the baritone tenor/musical theatre guy Bae Doohoon is in charge of Staging, the leggiero tenor is CHo MinGyu is also the leader of the group and the youngest ,Ko Woorim is the basso profundo voice … everyone is free to contribute though. I’m happy to be corrected if I’m wrong.
