Drove to Vancouver from Wisconsin in June 1978 for our honeymoon. I remember it as a wondrous metro area surrounded by nature. I'd love to go back and kayak it now. Best seafood dinner ever was at The Ship of the Seven Seas (floating restaurant). It was an seasonable 90+ deg F and the city beaches were packed. Locals directed us just down the coast to what turned out to be the nude beaches! "When in Vancouver, do as ..."😁

why not lions gate bridge to iron workers?

As much as I'd like to that is a restricted area and non motorized watercraft are not allowed. I would be picked up by the Coast Guard pretty quick. It's all video camera monitored. The whirlpools and currents can also be treacherous under the Lions Gate.

@@mmcholm Oh really? I was thinking going super quick under the lions...and then be stealthy along the beautiful east van shoreline :) Seriously i'd love to see you film that...

Ha ha that is the last remnants of the Cambie Swing Bridge being demolished. See the caption at 06:10 "Completed 1911, Demolished 1984" 🙂 Thanks for watching.
