We were told not to pet the dogs, not for radioactive reasons; just because a lot of the dogs are feral. We saw another tour group (from a different company) try to pick up one of the puppies that had been walking with us, he immediately freaked out and tried to bite her. She probably had fleas too. But there was a pet dog belonging to one of the guards at Duga 2 and she accompanied us on the walking tour. She was very cute and soft.
Explanation of the disaster from the technical part The test on unit 4 was to see if the rotary speed of the turbines is enough to power the MCP's (Main circulation pump, which circulates water) during a power outage, and will it give them enough time to turn on the Emergency Diesel Generators (take about 40 seconds to kick in). The test was to be done at low power, to not risk an explosion. The RBMK reactor (Reaktor Bolshoy Mochnosti Kanalnyy, probably messed that up) . High Power channel type reactor. It gets unstable at low power, producing Xeon, which reduces reactivity by absorbing neutrons. They reduced the power too much, causing the reactor to almost shut down (00:31 AM). They pulled out most of the control rods to 100%. Only 18 rods were inside the core, the power was at around 500MW. TG8 (Turbine-Generator) has been shut down. The reactor stalled too much, and went to a solid 0MW. More rods are pulled out. During this whole ordeal, a hot spot has been building up, because USP (Short rods below core compensate and prevent hot spots) rods were out. A power surge occurs, and since most rods are out, it gets out of control A3-5 ( or AZ-5, full reactor shut down, inserts all control rods at once). For this part you need a better understanding of the RBMK. The "Displacers" that as the name suggests displace water, are made of graphite that accelerates reactivity. The graphite hits the core first, and since a large mass of graphite suddenly enters the core, reactivity skyrockets. All water inside the core instantly turns to steam, which expands and causes a rupture of the channels. Locks and jams the rods in place and makes the disaster inevitable. Power skyrockets even further, reaching 33000MW, but thats as high as the counter went, the actual reading is probably 4 times higher. The maximum designated power of the RBMK is 3200MW, and the safe limit is 3300MW. Explosion, the 3000 Thousand ton lid flips and falls onto the core, and hydrogen and oxygen from the water literally being split apart from the heat causes another huge explosion, launching the lid 25 Meters into the air, blowing through the roof, and landing back onto the core. The whole block has been destroyed.

I love how tourists tell you what to do like they know.
That Ferris wheel looks like the one from the mission “ All Ghillied Up” when you are waiting for exfil with Cpt. Macmillan
same one
That’s because it’s a real thing. It’s a staple of the city. If I remember correctly it was finished right before the reactor meltdown.
Russia: I'm gonna break all 5.
Russian Soldiers digging in Chernobyl: I now have 2 heads and 20 fingers and now I'm dying of cancer
Rules have changed !!!! Broooo
KREOSAN: HOLD MY VODKA

Fallout Fans: “Repeat those rules into my shotgun barrel?”
we not talking abt that solider carrying a puppy
That one about Reactor 4 is false. They literally let you film inside the control room and from several angles. You really can't see much without going inside the new enclosure, but you're also not really missing much. The control room is a bit nuts though.
Shouldn't be going there!
why
I’m glad you can still pet dogs. That’s the most important thing
Most! They are, of course, feral. Best I can offer is you respectfully pet and if it bites you, you are now a werewolf. I don't make the rules.

The man's pet doggy was my favorite one of all.
What a cute dog!!!

7th rule: pick up the puppies and hold them apparently.
"dogs okay"
Phew, that would have been impossible for me.
Why don’t they want you video taping anywhere but the front ? That seems a little fishy to me
It’s not true… this guy is talking bullshit. I hiked illegally into the zone for six days. I know a lot about the zone and ending up in prison for stuff like this is not true

@@nyeebie what do you want?
@@virtualryanairpilot2093 So you hiked illegally into the zone, and saw the backside of reactor 4?
@@virtualryanairpilot2093 🤣🤣😂😂😂😂
7th rule: Makarov must get sniped
Kreosan was swimming it the lake close to the reactor..
He was swimming in reactor 5 which supposedly didn't get hit with much radiation, they did a follow up video on it
Oh yeah because most of us live next to Chernobyl. 😂

"Ruzzians" aggressively start diging trenches in radioactive dirt
Russia didn’t fight in trenches in or near Kyiv because they just swept through there until they were pushed out but they have to fight in trenches in the Donbas because it’s so hard to advance and Ukraine now has a lot more men than it did last February
