Was working on a project earlier today going absolutely crazy trying to use string to make a circle. Wasted about an hour messing around with that before finding this video and I just want to say thank you for saving my sanity :)
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow 🤦🏽♀️ where were you before? Lol lol lol I almost spent $100 on a big circle compass. You literally just saved me $100+ 🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️ THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Awesome! I'm going to combine this with a yard stick! Honestly, can't believe I didn't think of it but I"m so glad you put this video on here!
Wow can’t believe I didn’t think of this. I walked around the hardware store to see if I can find a very large compass but turns out there’s no such thing. So happy to have come across this video saved me money and time!!! Thank you 🙏🏾
Man!! I just built a six foot beam compass. Oh well, still nice having a new tool.
I was just looking around today on how to draw a 15 1/2" circle when I had no compass. So happy that I found your video first! I used it and it worked like a charm. Thanks!
+sreihart Awesome! Thanks!
Solved my life today, thanks!
thanks dude! after watching 7 video's on how to draw a circle without a compass i've found yours. all the others were basically just showing how to draw free hand, and if i could do that i wouldn't be here!
Right on man!
I'm going to be doing a model railroad layout and need to do large radius curves...this will work perfectly.
Thank you for this. This helped me complete a task on current painting -- it was very easy. Much easier than, for example, cutting out a stencil, etc.
A brilliant tip!
Love it! Short & helpful. Thanks
This idea was genius!! Thank you . I made a 50cm diameter with this on a 3mm wood board . Was able to cut it out , and looks perfect!!
Thank you so much, you are a true genius!
thats brilliant, thank you !
Genius! Thanks heaps man!
perfect ! Thanks !!!
Just what I need. No need to spend money! Result! Thanks.
i needed to make a 12"circle for a stool im building for a vanity im refinishing and this worked flawlessly! Thank you dave! ♤☆☆☆☆☆♤
12"Vinyl Record would do the trick: If you had one.
Great tip. Thanks.
Great idea, thank you
i watched this a while ago and i used this tip yesterday. works great and saved me some time thanks!!
Awesome!
Nice reminder of a sweat trick. Dave! Enjoy a cold one my friend.
That was awesome!!! Problem solved. Thank you!
Nice tip
David, this is awesome. I teach a beginning-level sculpture class and I've built several customized large compasses by drilling holes at various common lengths, but this method does away with all of the drilling and the rounding measurements to the nearest hole. Brilliant.
Plus, when looking for an alternative solution this is the first thing that came up in a Google search, so way to go!
Hi Gary! Man, it's been a long time since I've seen your face! Thanks and hope all is well!
Also, we should talk! I'd like to know some good beginner sculpting sources.
Thx so much for this.
Boy, dem some purdy big circles ya got there
Awesome thank you
Brilliant !
Brilliant.
GENIUS!!
Genius!
This is awesome. Do you have an easy way to draw an Oval?
Genius!!!
Проверил. Это работает!!!
This was incredibly helpful! Thank you.
Haha man i want to make a clock. Although i dont have a rotor, or clamps. Luckily ive a top i made at a friends workshop now i need to figure out the circle. But my biggest problem isnt the circle!its figuring out how im gonna get my analog in there by drill and chisel.
Thanks! This is exactly what I needed!
Anyone knows what length is the stick and thickness??
You just saved me
Deja Cy
I heard "drunken woodworker". ? I hope that is correct. Cheers mate! I'm going to use it on copper but it'll work? Thanks.
Deja vu. Damn spell correct.
This video is fairly commonsense and is mis-titled. I was looking for how to make a circle/arc without the use of a compass. This video uses a compass... it's just a homemade one. It should be titled how to make a 'make-shift compass'.
Or you could just move on until you find what you need. It's a sixty second video. Roughly how long it took you to type and submit your smug comment, so clearly your time isn't that valuable.
Steven Knopf, Sorry... did I hurt your feelings by being truthful? Gotta run, my time is too valuable to type anymore. 🏃
Hey Frozen Rope, I feel the same. Title states without a Trammel then shows how to build a Trammel, confusing but then again he is a little tipsy.
