    This is a issue I have as I am in my 40 s , raised my own kids, babysitting experience for 20 years and I have a bunch of qualifications and clearances. To make things a little bit more complicated I work part-time and age care and disability meaning that I have additional qualifications and clearances in our Australian disability system for 8 which is called NDIS I also have a moving and handling qualifications for disability equipment including hoists and wheelchairs
    So I'm actually way over qualified to be a basic babysitter, so I was thinking because I am going to be self-employed and not in a position a paid position as a nanny, so I'm thinking that the term that I would use would be mother's help, because I also cook I also clean I bake I make things from scratch I organise play dates I organise arts and crafts

    Hello this is a great video! 🤩 I had to look up this topic because I’m in need of care but I would like a sitter who actually takes my kids outside to the park, and to do things. I work from home but I just need the relief of being able to work sometimes without the kids at home. I’m looking for care maybe twice a week and every other weekend. Would you consider this a baby sitter’s job?

      Great question Breiana. I would consider this position a part time NANNY. If you are to use your caretaker on a consistent week to week basis, and around 8 hours or more, its definitely a nanny, just part time. A babysitter literally comes once in a blue or only once a week during date nights and is typically not taking your kids out to parks or driving them to activities.
      Hope this answers your question.

    Hi do you have idea maam how much the salary of nanny for the 1st timer?..thanks

    • @nannyjoanne4987
      @nannyjoanne4987  Рік тому +2

      it honestly depends on how. many hours your working (part time/full time) how many kids, exceptions of nanny duties etc. but rule of thumb usually is around 20$ per hour. if you're a first timer they may offer you more and increase as you get better, but its hard to say.

    Is there a name for someone who doesn't fit into the exact criteria for either? I'm 13 and I work for a family with two young children. I stay with them for a week at a time. I help the mom in the morning and the evening and during the day I'm completely in charge of the kids. Which one would I be?

      Even though you're only 13 you are technically a nanny! Babysitting is a job that comes by once in a while or a weekend gig. But if you're with the kids constantly like you seem to be, you're a nanny. Doesn't matter what your age if you ask me. The only difference might just be your pay, and that you are not able to drive them or be allowed to stay completely alone with them(depending on the parents)

      any nanny course you will take will be great for educational purposes. To be a nanny however, no certifications are required.
