I just watched this movie for the first time last night. Very powerful piece of storytelling, as is always the case with Ozu, in my experience. Setsuko Hara was wonderful. Such as a great and versatile actress.

If there is a Heaven and I am lucky enough to enter it when I die, I will RUSH to the place where Setsuko is to meet her and I will wait patiently for the thousands that are in front of me to do the same!
