I've been to Geneva twice. The first time in 2009 I didn't really know anything about the city and mostly used it as a central point to travel to France and Italy (I must mention I stayed with someone who works in Geneva, so I was spared the cost of accommodation in the city). I was so disappointed afterwards, because it seemed like such an an amazing city and I didn'treally explore it the first time around. Went back to Geneva in 2018 and spent one week there. Amazing! So much to do and so much to see. Must say I stayed with the same friend, so didn't have to pay for accommodation. But if you plan well, buy the Geneva Pass and also do a day or two where you just relax without going to museums, sights and galleries, you can actually sort of almost afford it. Would love to go back for a third visit to the city.
