    I work at a movie theater and I saw so many middle-age women walk out of the movie crying, saying the movie was great, so I decided to watch it at a crew screening and all of us could not stop laughing at how bad it was.

      @@rtrslimjim My cousin also works at a cinema, and she and her coworkers love mocking this movie. I feel sorry for Justin Baldoni, he tried to call attention to the serious issue of domestic violence, but Blake and Colleen seem intent on marketing it as a romantic love story.

      I mean they were also probably thinking the same thing about your FNAF movie. you having a disdain for a certain demographic's likes doesn't make you superior in any way.

      @@rtrslimjim your whole initial point was "look at these dumbass gen x women who have no taste, we are so much better than them"; if it wasn't you could have just stated your experience with the movie and not brought up the ladies' view of the movie for contrast at all.

    The drama was about a few things to do with blake lively. She was acting just generally rude in interviews and also portraying the flim as a fun girls night film which people who resonated with the more serious aspects of the film found innapropriate. She also used the film to try and market a lot of her brands including making a drink named after the abusive character from the film which again people thought was inapropriate. I personally think there is some mehrit behind it but that it's a bit overblown. Hope this helps clear things up for anyone woundering

    It's hard to take a story about domestic violence seriously when the characters have such on the nose names as Atlas, Ryle and Lily Blossom Bloom. They basically tell us EVERYTHING about their personalities, no room for subtlety.

    There was this moment at the end of the movie where Lily names her child after Ryle's deceased brother, and it was so weird and out of the blue that the whole theater burst out laughing at it, besides that I thought it was really average, always happy to watch a review from yours.

    • @trinaq

      @@Morcos-v9s I agree, it felt bizarre for Lily to name her daughter after her abusive husband's deceased brother, but then again, he was also her best friend's brother. Also, in the original novel, Allysa names her own baby Rylee, after Ryle, despite knowing that he repeatedly physically hurt Lily.

    The rumor mill says there's two cuts: one that Justin Baldoni approved of and this one had a better response than the theatrical cut which Blake Lively approved of and fought for. So the one in theater's is the lesser version. As far as the film goes, I doubt that the supposed director's cut changed the technique of making Lily Bloom an "unreliable narrator," because the film feels built for it. The book made her more outspoken and the inner conflict of why she stayed even after threatening to leave is the drive of the story, because that's what takes up the narration since we're in her head.

  • @BlckSWANWhtRbbt
    @BlckSWANWhtRbbt Місяць тому +3

    The books do complicate the process of leaving for her more than the movies. She has to contiue co-parenting with Ryle, and he continues to emotionally manipulate her even after their split. That is more realistic to what DV survivors have to deal with.

    I saw the movie . I find BL not a good actress . She didn't look & act like a DV victim . She looked girlish , a little bit arrogant , flirtatious and the expression on her face especially her eyes no traces of suffering as a DV victim . In d rooftop scene when u can hear her forced laughter, she looked sooo corny . Justin Baldoni's acting here in rooftop was super !👍
    it was cringed , or sooo funny or sooo yaks😬 , I just can't express my feelings when I saw d 4 of them BL , Ryle, his sis & brod in law wearing those hideous outfits inside her flower shop (her doing i think). I hope Justin Baldoni will receive an appreciation or award for making this film . His acting was superb .👏🏾
