  • Sorry for the wind noise, but that's Kansas for you. The harmonic balancer on my 1998 Toyota Tacoma went out, so I needed to remove the crankshaft bolt to remove the balancer and pulley. I've watched several videos on how to do this on other vehicles, but I couldn't find one for the first generation Toyota Tacoma four cylinder, so I decided to record my own attempt. Here's how I removed the crankshaft bolt on my 1998 Toyota Tacoma 2.4L four cylinder truck using the starter bump method.

      Reverse battery cables to spin the motor the opposite direction 😂

    Sir..did you remove the distributor socket before crank the engine? And how to torque it back after finish your job?
