Because I'm older and have worked in construction my entire life I can't hear the frequency Topcon uses. I think anyone with high frequency hearing loss will have the same problem. I'm surprised Topcon hasn't thought of this. I've called the company but they didn't seem to care. I watched the video to see if I could hear this model but didn't hear anything
Topcon does have a laser eye receiver that does jus that! Topcon's LS-100D is the upgraded version of this model which provides a numerical value of how much off grade you are.

I had to buy an off brand one that doesn’t fit well in the laser case
When will you come out with one that gives you a measurement of distance off grade
