- The second day of the Motorhome and Caravan Show at the NEC in Birmingham, October 2022. We look at a few of our favourite motorhomes which include Chausson, Auto Sleeper and Swift.

Thanks for watching our videos. We include all things to do with motorhomes, campervans, van conversions, caravans and the great outdoors. We mainly tour the UK and camp around 80 nights per year in our 2021 IH Motorhomes N-680 CRL luxury VW Crafter van conversion. We offer advice, tips and tricks, review campsites and associated products or services. We also occasionally make videos about other trips we take without the motorhome.

Thanks for taking us along, we went on Wednesday as we are caravaners we didn’t have time to look around a lot of the motor homes.
What we like about your visit was that you were there with with us public not early with the privileged few. Much better.
Hi Steve, thanks for your comments 👍🏻we were at the show for three days because we love to wander at our own pace and normally only stay in the show for 4 hours each day. We have always maintained that we want to be “customers” and nothing else. We pay for our tickets online and although we politely express our opinions, we avoid sponsorship. It’s something we have tried but don’t enjoy. We are regularly approached by companies to review products and we would probably qualify for press passes but it doesn’t suit us. Another great video. We would like a slightly bigger van and the Warwick XL is on our list of favourites but I didn’t know the windows in the lounge area didn’t open! On a rainy day when you can’t open the back doors that would be a problem for me. Thanks for sharing there excellent reviews.
Thanks Sylvia, there are a number of other converters with similar layouts to the Warwick XL. Danbury make a nice one and it has opening windows like Smirf. 😃🚐 Trev
Hi Trev and Sue, funny seeing Joe trying the loo for size ha ha, a nice look around the vans, I liked the swift the best I think, liked the kitchen area and the island bed and very large garage x
The Swift was a pleasant surprise to us but not enough equipment on board to meet the poshcats test. But those can be added as optional extras in most cases. 😃 Trev
Love the Warwick XL, two reasons why I’m not sure, no storage for outside chairs and, I’m too tall and have to stoop inside. But apart from that, I’m still tempted.
The Warwick XL may not be the right van for you. Our friends store two directors chairs behind the drivers seat. They fold flat and can be secured so they stay in place whilst driving 😀👍🏻🚐 Trev

Those little caravans are great aren’t they. Those transit cabs look fairly well designed and modern from the video, seems to be more and more moving to Ford with the Fiat supply issues. My favourite is the Merc cabs . Some great motorhomes - Rachel loved the one with the fancy bathroom and vanity unit - you certainly get more in another 2m - however the practicality of coachbuilts is the challenge I think (it’s a trade on luxury vs practicality of shorter and narrower).
The auto lights in the wardrobe of the Autosleeper is a good idea.
Shame the windows don’t open on the Warwick the shower cubical looked very practical too. Amazing what the extra 36cm can squeeze in.
Ps. Loving the van tours with my visit to NEC being a quick whistle stop. All be it pleased I didn’t have too much time as it grows ideas which always end up costing money 😂

Haha yes David. I had a padlock on the wallet this year 🤣🤣 We love the coach built vans but the van conversions offer so much more flexibility. 🚐 Trev

The prices are getting silly now. Some of the VW Transporters are over £100K which is completely outrageous IMHO. But it’s fun to look for ideas 👍🏻🚐 Trev
Good video guys. I thought the Elddis were brilliant value for money. They offered us £3k more then we paid for our Swift Motorhome 4 years ago !! Very tempted.
There are still a few good deals about. Dealers are getting nervous about the economic slowdown but no evidence yet that money is short 😵💫 Trev

The thing is T&S..how would you have got on dragging that Burford round Europe would it have been tight in places?. A good insight to the show..well done.
Thanks Andrew, it brings back wonderful memories when we look around the coachbuilt vans. You are right and of course the huge vans are a nightmare in lanes and in Europe. We love little Smirf with his skinny body and luxury interior 😃🚐👍🏻 Trev
