- Опубліковано 9 лип 2024
- Jack Daniel's is out with a batch two of the critically acclaimed 12 release. Batch 1 was in my top 5 for 2023, but is batch 2 as good. Watch this review to find out.

I just walked out of a store and left this on the shelf. They were only willing to come down to $249 and that's just too much for me. Grabbed the Michters 10 Year Rye instead.
Yea $250 is too high IMHO.
@@wakes_inc yea I agree. I paid $150 for Batch 1 and I think it was worth it. But $250 for this batch seems high, even though Randy says he’d be willing to pay that.
I wouldn’t do business with that store at all based on that
Because they wouldn't come down in price? If they did have it for retail, I wouldn't even been able to have a conversation to try and get the bottle because it wouldn't have lasted on the shelves.@@henrylee5542
I have to admit, I've been snubbing JD for years because in my mind it was always the "cheap stuff" we used to steal from my buddies dads cabinet when we were younger. Lol. I finally tried the single barrel and then more recently the single barrel barrel proof and now I praise the hell out of JD. Live and learn. Ive been hunting the 10 and 12 in my area but they are ghost bottles at this point.
The JD SBBP AND JD 10 have completely changed my mind on JD, wouldn’t have thought I ever said I liked JD until those
Didn't find either one last year, but I just found the batch 2 of the 12 for $95 out the door.
Jack 12 Batch 1 is still my favorite from last year. I really enjoyed this video. Thank you!
A flight of Jack Daniel's (Old No. 7, 12, 2B Rye, SBBP, and SBBP Rye) is what brought my best friend into the American Whiskey world. He'd been squarely in the Scotch / Japanese / Bordeaux Wine world...JD SBBP was the catalyst for change and it's been a fun ride ever since.
Keep up the good work, Gents.
I would love to find one at MSRP I will not pay secondary prices.
Best Jack Daniel’s that’s been released, is the Jack 12 yr batch 1 but I haven’t had a chance to try batch 2 it’s hard to come by where I live I hope i get to try it one day
I really liked both, but the Jack 10 last year was my preferred of the two. Jack 12 gave me this interesting lemonade like sour note in the palate that surprised me (from 3 different bottles at various shares), will be super curious to see how this year's batches shape up whenever the heck they hit WA.
I lucked into the batch 2, but I’d love to try the batch 1!
Batch 1 was fantastic. I hope I will get to try this year's.
Looking forward to meeting you this upcoming weekend in Ohio and personally love both 10 and 12 years! Been very fortunate to try both Batch 1 and 2 of the 10 and Batch 1 of the 12, would love to try the newer one!
If you like the JD 12 batch 2, then you will fall in love with 13th colony 15th anniversary, being the 13th stronger, thicker, and of course more flavorful.
I may have to do a side by side. The 15th anniversary was pretty good!
Thank you for sharing just acquired my first hopefully my palate matches Randy's so I can enjoy a great pour. Thanks again
Just found this last week. Cant wait to find an occasion to share it with someone.
You are right , it didn't anything like Jack , but very good
One of these days I’ll get a Jack release. Definitely should try a pour out at a bar somewhere. Thanks for the review.
Have only seen these in museum stores. Hope to try them some day!
Hoping to find a bottle again this year! Haven’t seen them yet out here in SoCal
Nice review! I’m thinking at some point I’ll get a bottle this year! My Prideful goat rum finish and 6 yr rye should be here this week!! Can’t wait! Cheers!
Awesome! Thanks so much for the support. Let me know what you think when you try it!
I haven’t seen them very much in my area, secondary is high when I do. But another nice review 🙌 thank you
I will be looking forward to finding me a batch 2, have batch one of the 12 and batch 2 of the 10 and they are great, JD has really upped there game
Just acquired the batch 2! Can’t wait to try it up against batch 1!
I just traded a Stagg (Jr) for a JD12 batch 1. If it’s as good as you guys say then I am stoked!
If I could get them, I'd sure like to try them h2h.
Love that Jack Daniels stuff!
Happy they're putting out more releases of the 12 year. Just hope to find it close to MSRP.
Thanks for the breakdown! Hoping to getting lucky and land a 12-Year this year. Cheers!
I was able to get a batch 1 for $140 and it's one of my favorites. Especially the nose. When I first stuck my nose in that glass it blew my mind. No way this is Jack Daniels! If I get a chance for a batch 2 at around that price, I will grab it.
I haven't heard of the yield for the JD 12 B2 as of yet, but its a great thing that a legacy is releasing two years in a row a 12 year whiskey. Hope to try it at some point. Cheers!
JD SiB BP Rye and Twice Barreled Rye got me hooked hard onto JD.
Just picked up my 2024 JD 10 and JD 12, excited to try side by side.
I keep hearing nuts in the profile but no banana ruts. Which I normally associate with Brown Forman products. Beam and Heaven Hill normally get that nut profile. Guess ima have to find a sample to verify. I noticed y’all referred to JD single barrel as a reference. Would this single barrel be a fair comparison??
I really appreciate this review. I will be on the lookout for a 12 year JD to break the seal for me. Thanks guys.
Thanks for being here!
A must buy for me.
Thank you, great review as always! Cheers
Thank you!
Couldn't find either one of them last year. Finally got a batch 3 10 year. Hoping to find a 12 year too.
Great add on the turn down the dial like ur thought
I really enjoyed your content. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
I'm going to JD at the end of May for a rye barrel pick. Cheers and thankyou BRT🥃
Love the 12 year just wish I could of got my hands on one fir msrp . Luckily I had a friend give me a sample
Awesome show thank you!
Our pleasure!
One of these days I need to tour the JD distillery.
Another solid video, hope to find this to try!
Thanks so much!
I asked about it in a store where I get a bad vibe from the owner but he had a 10 and 12 in back. I took the 12 for $110. Left for Mexico the next day, so I didn’t try it yet
I wish I had a palate like yours.
I NEED to find some of this juice!
I sure am hoping to get a 12 this year .I have a 10 from last year and it's great
Just got a 10 year at retail! Unbelievable whiskey
Picked up JD 12 batch 2 today for $99. I have JD 12 batch 1 that was gifted to me. 🥃
Just wish I could find one
The sound quality was bad on this. Not sure if the mic was too far
Never had the 12s but really like the 10.
Lucked out and had a store call me to tell me they had the 12 year so I grabbed one for 99.99.
I recently saw the 10 yr batch 3 at 149 and batch 2 12 yr at 169. Are those buys at those prices?
JD12 batch 1 was selling for $700 a bottle in my area. It was crazy.
Whoa. That’s just insane…
Hopefully I can score one!
Great review. One I haven’t tried yet
Thank you!
I would love to get a hold of the 10 and 12 year but I'm not willing to pay the crazy mark ups for them.
Have both from last year…will not buy this year as I have sworn off all the high cost special editions. Going with on the shelf regular guy stuff from now on. Lots to enjoy without the added cost …be well!
Can you compare to Weller 12? That’s my fav
I love Weller 12 as well but they’re worlds apart due to the proof. The difference is in the finish
Nice!
Cheers!
Never see these near msrp.
Hello! In efforts to learn, I was wondering what is the significance when it comes to different batches?
They are a different set of barrels with original fill dates. If a there are two batches released in successive years that are the same age statement, they share 9 years of aging, but there is a year at the beginning and end that they do not share. The weather in those years affects things. Additionally, every barrel tastes different. So even if everything else is exactly the same, two batches might vary because of these two factors that must be different.
@@BourbonRealTalk awesome! Thank you so much for the explanation, I appreciate it!
Tried to get the first batch and couldn’t find it. I imagine this would be the same
Haven't come across the new 10 & 12 yet.
I got one for 92, and i have no regrets
Big fan
Cheers!
If it’s Jack, it’s good!
I will be honest, I am not happy that JD is getting so much attention nowadays. I have always been a JD fan and until recently I have been able to find almost any JD product.
JD12 was my favorite bottle I owned last year. Unfortunately I traded my Backup before I tasted my bottle. Worst Bourbon decision I've made so far.
Let’s go
If I find one at a reasonable price I'll be all over it, I won't be paying an ungodly sum for it.
Yo where the hell yall finding these$90 prices..I just paid outrageous $324 in Arlington 🤦🏾♂️
That is the MSRP. Many stores price gouge on the limited editions.
Heard the banana was more prevalent on Batch 2 than on Batch 1...
Unfortunately, my personal batch 01 is skunky. I've had 2-3 other bottles they are all amazing. I'm sad.
Contact the distillery. They may replace it.
Jack Daniels is the best whiskey ever
JD 10 was better last year imo
