    Your video explained my problem to a "T" and I watched it several times (about 7 or 8) and was able to replace my crankshaft position sensor thanks solely to your excellent instructions. I had to buy the part from the dealership for $100. I got out all the tools you said would be needed, hiked up the front end with the Kia tire changing jack, slid in some jack stands and crawled under the car, located the offending unit and was very thankful for your tips, especially when it came to loosening that small clip. I have no idea why car designers put dumb clips in places where no normal person can get their fingers in there to snap them out. The other dumb thing is positioning the bracket where you cannot get your head in there to see how it is seated. The only problem I had/have is that I could not get the old cable off the bracket so I just left the old piece in there and plugged in the new one and crossed my fingers. At first it wouldn't start and I'm saying to myself Oh sh*t I really messed up but then I got back under the front end and tightened the 10mm bolt which apparently rectified the magnet connection and poof. CAR STARTED! I am a senior female and was able to complete the repair, thanks to your totally comprehensive video. Thank you for sharing this.

      JBirdy, thank you so much for the comment! Comments like yours are what inspire me to continue to make videos!
      The clip you are referring to is the plastic one with the two ears you have to squeeze together to pop out?

      @@PottersWork I'm up under the car now and will try that!!! Nope I just cannot slip it off the bracket so i secured the new one around with a cable tie so It will not vibrate around and possibly slip out of the two prong plug. That little bitty clip around the sensor was no problem but it's just too tight in there . I thought about breaking the old one off but chose not to in case I damaged the new one by being too rough. Thanks so much again!!!

    So, I never had an issue with my tachometer... Not ever... It just started puttering out as if it was the fuel filter... Come to find out, you can't just replace the fuel filter you have to replace the entire pump assembly... So I did, because that's how it was acting... I never searched anything different until I searched that it was still stalling after replacing the fuel pump assembly... My car died 4 times on the way in to work two days ago when I was first able to really drive it after replacing the fuel pump assembly... So did I...
    I had seen this video in between paydays... My friend let me use their time and vehicle to help me fix my car..
    Because of this video, I was able to do this in my parking at work between customers!
    Dude, I can't thank you enough!!! I did it at 30 degrees... My fingers were cold!!! I did a full ugga, held back on the dugga...

    Thanks for the video followed it step by step to replace the part. Car starts just fine now. However, it jerks while accelerating. It wasn’t doing this before replacing. Do you know what could be wrong ?

    • @PottersWork
      @PottersWork  2 роки тому

      Dulce, do you notice it having trouble running highway speeds? These Souls are notorious for getting plugged catalytic converters and one of the symptoms is jerking. But another is the engine losing power.
      unfortunately jerking is a symptom of other things too...bad gas, spark plug, plug wires, coils etc... I guess it's also possible the replacement sensor is bad...but I'm not sure if that would cause this symptom or not

    • @dulcevilla471
      @dulcevilla471 2 роки тому +1

      Yess when having to accelerate quickly it’ll jerk. When we ease into speed it won’t. I’ve replaced spark plugs about two months ago, will probably end up replacing the coils. Just don’t wanna spend the $260 on the coils and have that not be the problem 😅
      Anyway thank you for your help!!

    Hey. have you had any issue with suspension? A mechanic told me is the Bushing. I replace them and still the noise, like a spring. I put new front struts, sway bar links, bushing and lower arm controls with new ball joints. I put some grease in my both cars: Elantra 2008 and 2012 Kia soul. the soul makes the noise, Elantra nothing.

    • @PottersWork
      @PottersWork  9 місяців тому

      We had a noise up front that ended up being a missing bolt in the front passenger side caliper. Not sure if the previous owner didn’t get it tight enough or it just came loose.
      We have a 2006 Kia sportage with a bad strut up front and it makes a pretty loud creaking sound when it’s cold outside. What kind of sound do you hear on yours?

    • @PottersWork

    • @pq6675
      @pq6675 Рік тому

      @@PottersWork Hmmm..Ill check today. If it did...I did let it out before putting in new sensor..but is there supposed to be ANY oil in that open slot where the sensor goes? Would/could the sensor be damged by any of the oil in there? Seems logical like there should be some oil usually since the sensor has a o ring and we put a little oil on the new ring anywyas. But maybe fir whatever reason our car had too much?

I’m hoping the motor holds on for a while longer. We check the oil often and add Lucas oil additive at each oil change. From what I’ve read these motors are notorious for using oil and if you don’t keep an eye on it, can be low very quick. That’s kind of the reason it knocks, it was ran low about a year ago before we got it.
