Such a beautiful piece of music and I can't find anybody on UA-cam yet that can sing the music or accompany the melody properly. It's bizarre because the music is so beautiful and simple to express. Anybody have suggestions of a great performance since I can't seem to find any so far in the first hour of searching???

Nice accompaniment HOWEVER--measure 19 is wrong. The first triplet is ascending rather than being the same as the rest. Sondheim's a bastard that way. 🙂

It depends on what arrangement you’re playing from, there’s plenty of them with lots of discrepancies and liberties that editors take :) But I am glad you pay such close attention to these details. 😁

Yup, he sure is. I've cursed him many times. But I'm sure he would not be happy if there were versions floating around where it's incorrect. Nor would I think he would be pleased with editors that "take liberties".

Why this key??? Not great for belters .. not great for sopranos. Lower the key. Check out key done by Bernadette Peters !!!
Guess you don’t want us to use it for recording or auditions. So sick of these back orchestrations everywhere not viable for women!!

imagine, if you will, that Bernadette Peter's version accompaniment is readily available with a firm grip on the English language, and at least one hand to type if youtube search bar.
Then imagine, if you will, that a MALE might want to sing this. This is in F, Bernadette in C. About as far away as you can get.
