Ptera is my main dino. Like you said, it's so chill to play.
You can watch other players fighting and explore the map from the safety of the sky. It is easy to grow and to keep alive.
Sadly not many play as Ptera, so it can get a little bit lonely.

@@norfolk2659 Ive got a question about the ptera... can you eat a fish in your mouth while clinging to a wall? I thought i saw someone do it before but I cant figure it out.

probably removed that cause it would make playing ptera even easier than it already is.
Bonus: If you get pounced by a small raptor, fly as high as possible and wait for the raptor to fall
Or buck it because u will bleed out

for anyone stupid like me- RMB means RIGHT MOUSE BUTTON
There is actually a third way to take off:
Jump off from an elevated position then hold and release space bar
Another tip.... Change air brake to a mouse button it makes vertical landings and tree latching waaaaaaay easier if your aren't super dextrous
for vertical landing I like to use Z + Ctrl, makes things waaaay easier
i have airbrake on my mouse but now i cant latch on a tree. I switched back to Z just to see if I was doing the mechanic wrong but I was able to latch again without issues..... wtf is going on with my mouse?
Tip: if you crash into a tree or another ptera hold space and you open your wings again. You need abit of height though.
When Ptera first came out it was all that I played for months. Lots of fun, and can actually be good for killing smaller Carnos and Ceras. Or at least bullying them till they run away, lol

@@littletweeter1327 i love flying, a lot of games REALLY don't know how to do it. You can see that in this game the flying is taken seriously and feels smooth
highly recommend this video & tutorial any beginners it helped me and now I'm jus vibin on a rock

This is always the same technique to take flight: hold space then release. Only the conditions change: being immobile, walking (running isn't required and it wastes stamina anyway), and falling (stamina wise this is the best as no stamina is spent, but of course reaching a place to safely fall from is a strong prerequisite).
if you need to fly long distances running and holding spacebar is better because it gives you a good speed and height boost. but yes most of the time unless ur traveling holding spacebar is better

I don't know why, but I love playing as a ptera so much.
Seems like every time I run to fly my Pteranodon closes it’s wings and goes down. Am I getting the timing wrong or something else is going on?
Don't worry, it's a known bug for now. Hopefully the devs will fix it!

I like flying over cera's who have made a kill and making loads of noise to alert other dino's to them.... they soon run away 🤣

yes, it will auto-grab if small enough :)
this is all great but where does one find these fish? i have been flying over rivers and oceans for hours and im starting to think they dont exist anymore. anyone knows where theyre hiding?
unfortunately the AI system is broken right now, the devs will fix it when they come back from the break
@@KougaArt so no ai at all for anyone or what? And when will they be back? That might be a stupid question but my ass just jumped from legacy over to Evrima so I’m kinda confused.
@@GyattBoyCool there is some AI but the spawns are bugged, sometimes they spawn and sometimes not. Devs will be back in January :)

My issue with ptera is i wish they were more aggreasive in combat. Maybe an alt bite or attack while in air. And maybe at 100% they get some sort of knockback resist or at least a diet with knockback resist cause all these troodons and raptors just have to sit still, wait for you to swoop and they just jump and you fall and die lmao.
Pteras can attack while in air, but only with regular bites! You can keep a safe distance from the target and keep biting it without getting hit. It's really useful against some sub adults, Juvies and hatchlings
Everytime I am using RMT for fishing I fall into the water. I am not hovering above the water like you.
check your settings > gameplay > enable manual alt attack
see if it works

I like to play them but for some reason I can't find anything through smell anymore
if you smell while flying, its a very shortrange sniff. you have to land to smell further.

I believe thats been like that since atleast 6.0 thats when i came back to the isle and it was like that
my dinos mouth doesnt open when i hold rmb :(
you close to the water while flying? if yes, then delete your config folder to reset the settings:
close your game
press windows + r
write %localappdata%
find The Isle > saved > Delete Config
@@KougaArt Hello, i'm still new so I may be misunderstanding but I think it was due to me not being close enough to the water. I was able to left click catch when being a good bit above the water but for the rmb i had to be closer, I kept trying and eventually the rmb method worked and I think that is why

There's something I don't understand, I tried to play Pteranodon twice and each time, no matter how long I spend on the ground, my stamina never recharges, so after a minute of flight I find myself on the ground unable to fly again and I quickly end up dying of starvation or eaten by a predator...
are you laying down to recover your stamina? After a certain stamina % you are not able to regen it if you're not laying down

it really depends on your PC specs, usually the game puts the graphics automatically at the best settings you can get ^^

I stop playing as ptero because i dont know how to catch the fish. I was told that its just with the rigthclick and i always fall trying this. Now, i will try play as ptero again with the left xD
I think they added that with this latest release. Seems fair since that's pretty much all beipis have to do. I think they also took away being able to eat hanging from trees as I've not been able to do it since.
catching fish is pretty easy.
go low enough to skim with rmb then hold your altitude by slightly tapping space.
with a bit of practice you get a 100% catch rate without taking a bath.
1:54 u will fall.. if u release the button like donkey and do nothing. :) The moment u release the button hold SPACE and u'll be fine.

not much to do with the video but people should make a wiki for the isle evrima, like, there is a wiki for the isle, but it's the most outdated crap you can possibly imagine
Ptera bite needs a buff or devs should add a grab mechanic so you can easily take out Dino in any size.
Edit: I know you can grab but I mean a mechanic where you can swoop in and grab dinosaurs like in the movies, that would be awesome to see
You mean like with their feet? That would be impossible.
Their feet are way to weak to be able to do so. The devs try to make the dinos realistic, not cartoonish.
@@July-nj5sn how about adding a new species like a much bigger version than a Pteranodon , I don’t know the type of Dino that fly but adding a much bigger and stronger flyer would be sick. Of course that species need to be balance👍

its a flying dinosaur the size of a giraffe.
@@July-nj5snomni raptor is non realistic. They kept them in because people wanted the traditional Jurassic park style raptor as opposed to the more realistic counterpart.
@@justhellbound4206 I didn't ment real dinos, but more like realistic behaviour. Otherwise most of the dinos would need feathers or something fur-like.
A flying dino that could pick up other dinos besides hatchlings is not realistic.
