OUTBACK QUEENSLAND - WE DROWN THE DRONE - Camooweal, Mt Isa, Mary Kathleen,Cloncurry Episode 51

In this episode we cross the border from the NT into Outback Queensland. First stop is at an amazing freecamp at Camooweal on a billabong. The birdlife is incredible with an abundance of pelicans. We move on from here and make our way through Mt Isa and camp at another free camp at Corella Dam. A beautiful setting overlooking the lake that has crocs and more amazing birdlife. Whilst capturing some amazing footage of the lake, the drone decides its time for a dip (ok......Tony misjudged the distance to the water)!!! Not far up the road is the old abandoned town of Mary Kathleen with the original closed down open cut uranium mine not far out the back of the town. A bit eerie but well worth the short 4wd track out there.

Thanks Ron 😊 it was hilarious!! Very unexpected that it came back but even now it still flys but the gimbal is damaged. I think from hitting the van not from going in the water!! Bought a new one but will get this one repaired (if possible) !!

This channel is better than a Benny Hill show, that's hilarious seeing Tony standing there with drone in hand. Never seen a lot of the country around Mt Isa so been great to see. Maybe some floaties for the drone as well. Thanks again for your hard work.

Back in 1985 we travelled around Australia with a caravan taking our 4 and 8yr old daughters towing a 18’ York caravan behind a 1985 LC . We arrived in Camooweal in the late afternoon expecting to fill up with diesel at 1 of 2 fuel stations only to find there was no diesel in town so we had to stay behind the now closed fuel station across from the pub . Diesel was not due for a week but Peter managed to get fuel from the town generator company at no charge although we gave them some beer .
