I’m pretty proud of this one as it’s a genuinely useful too for both locksporters and locksmiths alike. It fits in any kit and will allow you to pick a multitude of different Tubular Locks. This is my 5th collaboration with Sparrows Lock Picks too :-) www.sparrowslockpicks.com/product_p/goat.htm And yes, this did accidentally get published on Sparrows’ website a little early, so a few of you knew this was coming :-) Thank you all for your support
There's one type of lock missing from your collection - www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hitch-Pin-Lock-5-8-S-Type-Tow-Bar-Tongue-Lock-Trailer-Part-4WD-Caravan/162255286837 And, unlike the Meroni, it gets the design right. I'm sure you could probably find these locally.
I have a Goat wrench, and I recently bought a lock designed for vending machine t-handles, which has the ball-bearing in the center. It is small enough that the wrench would ride up on the ball and pop off. So I filed a small semicircular notch into the wrench where it would let the wrench clear the ball. It now works just as well as with larger tubular locks.
first and foremost, thankyou for solving the problem that is tensioning these weird but common tubular locks, you're the first person to have an elegant solution. second off, given your connection with sparrows, i'm very happy that they picked up on this, and once again, brought an amazing product of your design to the rest of us, i'm not surprised that this tool was jumped on and pushed into production as soon as a design was finished. third off, thanks for being a fantastic creator, not only of the tools and fun pin sets, but as just a content creator for the community!
Good Morning. I perched the Goat Wrench and find it hard to use because of the size. Have you planed to make one bigger some time later. Also have you found a better way to pick a ACE cylinder lock. I have enjoyed your UA-cam programs. Again thank you Jack
Pretty sure I've seen both LockpickingLawyer and BosnianBill tension these locks with wiper inserts held at odd/uncomfortable angles relatively recently, so not only well done on designing a tool they didn't think of, but double well done for showing Sparrows it has a purpose so they started making it. Now all we need is better supply chain for Sparrows stuff here in Europe
Just got this all the way here in Malaysia, before I'm go back to Bangladesh. Just expanded up my hobby of single pin picking a lot. Thank you for your great design!
LOL, I've posted a link to this on your last 2 videos about you custom tension tools. I found it by accident on the site before it went live. Great work and congrats on another colab!
Tony Virelli and my apologies for deleting those posts Tony. It might be a little sad but I still like to do the reveal myself - a lot of work goes into these things in the background :-)
Not apologies required. When I first found it, it had no wording about it being a colab with you. So I posted it to bring it to your attention. I would have been royaly pissed if they brought it to market without crediting you as it was OBVIOUSLY based off your videos!
I am very happy that this tool has become available!!! I watched your video on the prototype and commented saying that i would buy one. Well my friend i lied...im buying two!!! Thank you so much and keep it moving forward.
I don’t quite understand how it’s all come to pass, but I’m greatful people can try out my concepts for themselves. I think that if it wasn’t for you Tipene, I wouldn’t have contacted Sparrows in the first place, so thank you :-)
Congratulations a lot Lock Noob my friend 😉😁✌. Didn't I say a couple days back when you showed in some videos your new designed tubular tensioner that Sparrows probably will make it some day 😂? I'm still confused about the timing, but hey, I'm as always absolutely happy for you that another one of your inventions is beeing produced 👍 :). Have a nice weekend mate :D 😊✌👋🦊.
Thanks Foxxy :-) I film months ahead sometimes and Sparrows have an increadible capacity to develop concepts... sometimes it just all seems to happen at once! You have a great weekend too :-)
I have the Mantis buddy which is absolutely horrible ;D...but if I need such a tensioner some day (I have only a couple tubular locks, so makes no sense now) I will 100% buy your designed one :). 👍😊👋🦊
Congratulations my friend I new they would pick this design up I actually thought incorporating the regular tubular with your design also.... great idea ..and yes I did buy one can't wait to try it ....is what I would love too see is a giant box opening of SPARROWS SENDING YOU !!!!! one of everything they manufacture in ther plant or on there sight for all the hard work you did are you listening sparrows lol lol.thank you for sharing the video and thank you sparrows for putting it in production. 😎🌟⭐🌟⭐🌟
I just bought one of these and a mantis. I was called out to a garage lockout today and the lock was tubular. Turned out it was an Ace II and my tubular picks didn't cut it. I'm looking forward to going back and trying the goat out.
Great job! You should be proud. Very innovative. Never picked a tubular lock, but I’ll be picking one up and being on the lookout to give it a try. Congrats!
In my Sparrows "cart" now. :) It sounds like you are a bit wound up and rightfully so! Thank you for your contribution to the community and the world beyond!

Wow, Lock Noob strikes again! I knew that in the moment I saw your design, it´s simple, it´s clever and works, they will be stupid if they don´t manufactured this tool. Congratulations for your design my friend, you have to be proud about it. Thanks for your work and thanks for showing ;o)))
Thank you Tallan. I am proud of this one, more so maybe than my other designs as it may well be an enduring one. Thank you for your continued support ad friendship :-)
So, after getting my Goat Wrench in a while ago, I was (impatiently) waiting for a package of tubular locks... They arrived at work today, and got straight into picking them after a well-deserved dinner! This was my first time picking a tubular lock, but after getting the hang of positioning the wrench, it went great :) It's a little fidgety and if you tap it when picking a pin next to it, it'll spin off; but that's to be expected when clamping onto a round smooth metal surface. The 4 tubular locks I got need to be picked twice and it passed with flying colors, but the positioning it when picking the other way for the second time to fully close the lock is something I'll need a little practice on! *Verdict: Great tool!* (PS. I think I'll be getting a second one for my EDC kit...)
congrat's! I though to myself that was fast of them to copy your design, but then you said it was a collaboration I understood. I hope your getting royalties or something similar.
Hi Locknoob. Really interesting tool & seeing the development history of it. I ordered one to try and open a laptop dock I have lost the keys for but found that it didn't quite fit the lock. Not sure if its operator error though
This tool, as any tool for that matter, just can’t fit in all configurations sadly, but it was designed for the most common sizes. You could make your own tension tool that fits if you have a bit of time though :-)
Hi Lock Noob, I have the Sparrows Mantis tubular wrench which I find really uncomfortable to tension a lock with, due to the pointed edges. Is the Goat wrench better to tension with?
