    You have no idea how valuable these tutorials are!
    Before this I was so confused on even what VOPs was.

    Omg Thank you so much 😭
    Please do more VOP tutorials 🥳
    It's extremely difficult to find a tutorial explaining VOP well like your videos 👍
    Most people focus on VEX.

    Lol. I've just asked on Houdini group a VOP course 12 hour ago, everyone tell me to learn VEX and ignore VOP. And then you post this. What a lovely day 😂 Applied Houdini and your courses (Esecially the rocks assembly one) really convinced me to learn both deeply. Thank you sir.

      All my homies use VOPS, vex is for nerds (they're kind of the same thing though, but I think VOPS is a lot more elegant)

    AMAZING! I come from a C++ background, I'd love to see a purely VEX tutorial. It's easier for me to think in terms of code rather than using the blueprints / nodes houdini provides, but by far ur tutorial is the most straightforward and clear way to learn things in Houdini. I'm subbed!

    I nail that actually you play with row of attribute that you modify at will :) and also there is a bit of coding related in those node ... now i understand.. you a bit deep but just deep enoughtt o make it challenging to me enought :) GReat lesson Thank you

    I always delayed the Attribute VOP training but with this "get started" tuto, it's so easy to better understand!! Thanks a lot man! 👍👍 And (for me) it's also easier than VEX code inside Wrangle node... 😅😉

    30:22 Why does the lower-value, terrain get more contrast?
    In general, higher exponent, we will get a larger value, Isn't it?

    • @voxyde
      @voxyde  Рік тому +1

      Yea lol, no idea how the math works. I just use power to get more contrast, mostly using with Colors 🤷‍♂

      @@voxyde Thank you for your reply. ☺ It's doesn't matter.

    • @sleepingonthecouch95
      @sleepingonthecouch95 Рік тому

      Because the ramp returns a float value of 0 -> 1 = x (like 0.5, 0.1, 0.9,....) And power function is x^exponent => exponent get smaller, the bigger the value will be. For instance, 0.5^0.5 < 0.5^0.2

    • @Reshavskyi
      @Reshavskyi Рік тому

      They are completely different and used for different things and different tasks. I recommend to find introduction videos for those software and then decide what do you need.

      @@Reshavskyi sir I just need to which is better for special effects and visual effects . What ever fx we create in houdini can we create them in af . I m from after effects side nd very much keen to the which is more effective for jobs and all

    • @Reshavskyi
      @Reshavskyi Рік тому +1

      They are doing a different kinds of special effects. They can look similar but they different and used in different situation. In Houdini you will need to spend much more time to achieve a good result for complex vfx. if you know how to achieve a good result in After Effects, you are better working with it

    • @voxyde
      @voxyde  Рік тому +2

      @@pavannerella7536 Hi! Houdini is better for creating shots from the ground up. Think of a huge building collapsing with smoke etc.
      After effects is good if you want to integrate smaller scale FX with real live footage!

    • @Reshavskyi
      @Reshavskyi Рік тому

      @@voxyde I think it's not correct. Both soft you can use for small scale or some complex vfx. But Houdini has a good simulation system and can work completely with geometry, lighting
      and so on. It's more complicated product. After effects works better directly with footage. Also after effects used more in small production and Houdini very popular in big studios who works whith big cinema.
