    I bought new faucets for our bathroom double vanity. I started disassembling and removing the old ones, but some of the nuts were on WAY too tight for me to remove. So, my hero husband said he'll do it. Well, they sat for 4 days (mind you, totally unusable as I had already taken off some parts...). He didn't know what to do, but wouldn't admit it. Well, I watched your video and had the stinkin' things off myself in less than 10 minutes! The tip with using the screwdriver on the top portion of the drain (to keep it from turning as I worked on the underneath sections) was the part I was missing to finally remove all the old (and disgusting) drain parts. The updated faucets look great now! Thanks!! :)

    Thank you so much. I appreciated your very clear and concise directions. I just finished doing all of this ( Lowes flaked on me) it took me a little more than an hour as i was working in a very tight spot. The hardest part for this 60 year old woman was crawling under the sink and getting back up from the ground. Your instructions were so good thankfully i didnt have to get up and down to many times times.

    Yeah, what Marie King just said. The other videos did not go into details and telling us to remember to hold the base of items for over tightening and cracking. You also replaced the drain part and had a hard time and showed what tools you made need to Rent if you do not have them, and will need them. Im a female at 50 and am planning on replacing the faucets for easier ones to use in my rental. I need the faucets to come farther out into the sink bed so I do not keep ramming my fingers and nails up against the back of the sink tub when thoroughly washing my hands. It hurts and i am over it. Thank you very much for this. I am sure I can now do it with great confidence.

    Great video. I just replaced my bathroom faucet yesterday. I never meant to replace the p-trap, but I had to, because I took it apart to make more room to work and it broke from the wall pipe. There are no threads on the wall, so I have no idea what was holding that on. I bought a rubber pipe clamp and replaced the whole thing with PVC. The new faucet came with its own drain pipe anyway. I had to get the caretaker to help. We had to take the sink off to remove the old faucet. The nuts were rusted pretty bad. I like that the new faucet has plastic mounting nuts. I found out that I love PVC. No tools required. It may not be as durable as metal, but it's far easier to work with. Thanks again. I'll remember this if there's a next time.

    Very nice descriptions...and very nice presentation. I have the exact faucet and my lift-off for the drain stopper also snapped right off. I rent an apartment and it looks like it's been 28 years since this was installed. I spent hours cleaning the extreme green copper and extreme mountain of lime inside the faucet. Now it looks like new. Thanks for the great video, it was my guide for re-assembly. Now, on to the stuck cartridge. :(

      I was able to replace the bathroom faucet and drain very easily. There were a few challenges, such as replacing the compression valve with a quarter turn valve which I was unable to do because the compression valve was welded to the water line. However, I am very pleased with my ability to swap out the faucet and drain. Once again, many many thanks.

      Thanks for reporting back. If your supply valve is sweated onto copper pipe you could possibly cut it off and install a compression type valve. This would only work if you have enough exposed copper pipe to work with.

      The gasket should keep moisture from getting under the faucet base but if you're worried about moisture you could take some plumbers putty and place a string of it around the edge of the base, then clean off the excess.

    Was having a look at a friends super old faucet handles from the 70's and they seemed to be attached to the copper pipes like one giant piece. Was attempting to replace them because one just kept turning. Is this a do it your self or should my friend just call a plumber. Cheers.

    • @Iscaper
      @Iscaper  8 років тому +1

      +Mabbio
      You could cut the copper pipes to remove the old faucet, then use flex lines with the new one. If the old faucet doesn't have shut off valves on the supply lines you may have to shut off the water for the whole house until you get the valves installed. If the project seems overwhelming it might be a good idea to call a plumber.

    I am replacing (what looks to be) the identical faucet. I've taken a class, watched UA-cam videos and read all the instructions and I'm completely stuck at one of the first steps...I can't seem to get the water to turn off. The left valve closes easily but the right one is hard to move, and, if I try to turn it to the right, the water squirts out from the valve. Anyone out there have a solution for me? I videoed the problem and am hoping that someone at Home Depot can figure out why it's leaking but I thought I'd ask here first. Would appreciate any help!!!

      You'll probably have to replace the supply valve to the faucet at some point. Here's a link to one of my videos that cover that: ua-cam.com/video/6elP6Xj_NAo/v-deo.html. You could do that first then replace the faucet, or you could turn off the main water supply to your house and just replace the faucet. The problem here is that all your water would be turned off in the house until the faucet is replaced. If it were me I would replace the supply valve then the faucet.

      Hmm. Might have to shut of your main water supply to change the faucet.
