Just planted mine! Z6B, SW VA. It really gives a nice way to draw the eye to near the end of my front bed. In front of some evergreen viburnums. Lovely plant I learned about from this channel. Thank you!
This has been my favorite conifers the last two years on my designs and planted one in my front garden next to an ariadne japanese maple, it only gets like 4 hours of sun so a little more green but still beautiful
I went to visit my sis in Chatt Tn and insisted she get one and she did planted and she loves it!!! We always hear you in our head “well Jim says”. You are a given !! Thanks!!!! 😆👍
I’m really enjoying this new channel, Jim. Focusing on specific plants with this level of detail is quite helpful as I plan changes to my yard/garden. I take a screenshot of the final image with the photo of the plant and pertinent info about it and save it in an album of plants I’d like to incorporate in my future spaces. 💚
Another beautiful conifer! Thanks Jim! I am in zone 8 in Georgia, I tried to plant some fruit trees and rented an auger and all my son could do was couple of inches down. He went ahead and surrounded the pots with wood chips because we are suppose to have a couple of 2 or 3 nights of freezing temperatures. At the other house I planted a few fruit trees and none fruit. This time around I looked for the lowest chill hours and late bloomer because every year after the other trees bloomed here came a frost mid April and the crop was done. Any suggestions? I appreciate it!
Jim, I bought three night light shrubs this summer for a flower bed that gets 8 hours of sun in summer. They had bleaching when I bought them and it is more than what yours has. I am in zone 7b as well. Is it possible the ones I bought are not from Southern Living plant collection? They were potted in black pots.
Do all CHAMAECYPARIS " do not stop growing ' ? Like if they say it grows 2m tall( 6.5 feet) ...is it going to get bigger than that ? No idea what xone we are...max summer temp 86 F and light frost in winter only few times.
I just picked up one of these yesterday. Zone 8a North Texas and it will be planted on the north side of the house. Very excited!

I agree! Thank you for making this channel dedicated to single plants! Great job on ALL your videos and both channels!
Another pop of gold along with sunshine ligustrum, florida sunshine illicium, golden holly, etc. I like it!

Thanks Jim I just might try to find one of them. 🍁🍂🍁💚🙃
Love this concept in playlists organization! Claire in 9b
Love this channel and look forward to finding new additions for 7b!
I love the movement of the Night Light. I bougt 2 tiny plants last year. 1 died this summer and I immediately went out and purchased another.
Love the texture and color! Another plant being added to my wish list.
It’s one of my favorite plants in your landscape.

Beautiful plant but my only concern would be getting crushed by a snow storm here in PA.
Darn, I wish I could have it but I’m in 9b. The winters have been quite wet the last two years and I get a lot of wind from the valley.

How would you describe Deep South or warmest south? Does that include 7b?
So what tool would you use to shear it back? Electric or manual?
