The trippy music they played during the wreck/fireball segment gave me a flashback. Don't know what l mean, good for you. Grasp the concept, hahahahaha, good times. This time my dog found me arguing with my car over cam choice.
WJ used to come to Bison Raceway by Ste Anne Manitoba. I was still in my diapers. That crazy wheelie tank, Red express, to hear that voice. He NHRA, this is early mid teens memories. NEARLY 2000HP!S the horsepower rating are an estimate, there is no top fuel dyno. If there was it would be plastered all over you tube.
I was running ProStock back then but don't specifically remember the Gator's of that year. Where was Garlits? (BTW... That track looks sketchy as hell! It looks like it has a very nice coating of oil in both lanes. No wonder no one could get hooked up)
@@CalvinWalker2000 Oh yeah... I vaguely remember that now. Seemed kind of weird that he wouldn't be racing in his back yard. Some kind of beef with NHRA as I recall.
The 70's were awesome in Drag Racing! The 1976 Gatornationals is was great testament of that 👍🏁

There were few changes from 1976 to 2024! More than 30 years have passed and very few changes as seen in the video.

Note the Starter and track officials have no hearing protection. Bet they would have tinnitus today.
