That horrible t-bone crash, when Joe Frasson t-boned Skip Manning, was actually the second such incident Manning was involved in that year. During that year's Daytona 500, a race remembered for the Petty-Pearson finish (an incident which ironically also involved Joe Frasson), Ramo Stott blew an engine, and John Ray spun in the oil, and Ray was t-boned by Manning, who was driving Ferrell Harris' #82 car (Manning failed to qualify for that race in the #92 of Billy Hagan, so Harris decided to put Manning in his #82 car for that race). In addition, part of the interview ABC did with Frasson was used in the official film Custom Films did of that year's Southern 500, as the WWOS broadcast of this race was another ABC Sports-Custom Films co-production.

The race where Junior took notice of Tim Brewer. Said somethin along lines of ‘Boy i need that rear end.” Brewer got it out of Childress’ car in no time flat long before could get Cale’s out. To the point it shocked Junior. -U10
