Mets need to resign Pete Alonso. He is a fan favorite & he is a community minded person. Also, what if Soto gets injured (The Mets luck) & pulls a hamstring or something & is out 6 to 8 weeks. Mets are going to need Alonso to provide the HR power. Vientos can't do it alone.
@jimwerther Unfortunately, you have a point. However, he is the best 1st baseman available - unless the Mets are thinking of converting Vientos to 1st base. Pete does serve as some protection in the lineup with Frankie L, Vientos, and Soto.... What must happen is Alvarez has to shake his Sophmore Jinx off and start producing with timely hits and 25-30 Homers !!

According to reports, the Mets are aggressively pursuing Garett Crochet. Expect a deal to include Baty, Acunua or Williams and Carson Benge. Since Brandon Sproat won't have a shot at the rotation, why don't we trade him, Mauricio, and Clifford for Bret Rooker? Put all our chips on the table. Of course, if you don't win a championship within 4 years, it's all downhill from there.
If you think that the Mets will get to the WS because Soto signing… think again , they need pitching , it’s a waste of money , no player worth that amount , he’s not that good defensively and above avg batter
I don't think soto will single handedly get us to the world series but people are really undermining our pitching staff it's very solid and with montas and holmes now getting stretched into the lineup if the mets bring back Manea and either Crochet or Sasaki then our pitching staff will have good depth because Senga will be back as well also have to remember he was injured the entire season and we still got to the NLCS
@@jimwerther of course not. Everyone in Juan Soto's family loves him. The only person that loves Aaron Rodgers in Aaron Rodgers' family is Aaron Rodgers.

I said this earlier. The Dodgers are the only team I feel we should be worried about. They are built to Do exactly what they did to the Yankees in the world series winning the 🏆. They are not going anywhere. They are built to Win 🏆 🏆🏆🏆 So I totally agree with how you feel. Im good with Soto. We need more For Sure & pitching would be tremendous for us.
We gave the Dodgers a better fight than the yanks did with Soto. It’s still early in free agency and have a few pitchers on our radar. We’re far from done LFGM 💙🧡
Mets went pound for pound with the dodgers. Everytime the dodgers punched the mets punched back. They lost but if we had soto we could have punched harder. Dodgers are super stacked though. Just one after the next .

Soto is 25 years old, so the Mets are getting him in his prime years. Players are usually 30 years old when they hit free agency. Ohtani is 30 years old, Aaron Judge and Mookie Betts are 32 years old. Freddie Freeman is 35. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is 25, he is the next big free agent next year

Signing, not a trade
i thought ronnie was on record a few weeks back downplaying how much the mets needed soto?
Maybe he knew what was up and just kept his cool 😎
He was one of the anti soto along with keith hernandez, i remember when soto was with Washington, now soto is the super star on their team 🤣🤣
Ron said he would rather allocate the resources elsewhere than just Soto a few weeks back. How quickly the tables have turned
