I LOVE that Crucible is back in the Power Mack cube. Yes, Walk-In Closet/Forgotten Cellar is sometimes a better Crucible, but there is also just so much power in being colorless. Yes, the best Strip Mine decks are green with Fastbond, but at their core, Strip+Crucible can just lock a game down, no matter what color you are.
8:55 - Did Enlightened Tutor even get seen here? Trinket Mage might be a second copy of Key but Enlightened is a second copy of both. Makes getting the combo far more likely than Trinket does.
What a disgustingly good deck. The thing that makes this deck so great is that it not only has combo and ways to find combo. It's got good early interaction aswell with Stp, Lose focus and Toxic Deluge. It even has card draw and card filtering with Dack, Malcom and Mystic Confluence. This deck is just super strong and i'd be shocked if it doesn't 3-0.
I thought your comment was interesting so I went back and looked at it closer and I disagree based on the previous turns. It's true Mack floated 1 blue with Upheaval to represent Spell Pierce, but that would only work if Sam didn't have a blue card to pitch to the Force. With lethal on the board, I think Sam would've just hard cast Force, taking the chance that Mack didn't topdeck Pierce. Mack can only have Pierce from a topdeck, because he would've used it the previous turn to counter Sam's Miscalc otherwise. I think it's more likely Sam drew the Force post-Upheaval because it seems overly cautious to not Force the Upheaval with lethal on board that could only be punished by a topdecked Spell Pierce (if Mack even had it in his deck). It's not like Sam had better chances by letting the Upheaval resolve. He'd have to wait at least 3 turns to play his ESB and giving Mack 3 turns seems riskier than the small chance he topdecked Pierce. He floated his mana in response to Upheaval to make Mack go to combat and waste his own floating blue so he couldn't play a 2 drop that turn.
@ it’s not just Spell Pierce. It’s any of the other stuff that could be in his hand. Considering the board state at that time, the most likely outcome is winning with Spellbinder four turns later. But if you force the Upheaval, there’s a chance that Mack’s next play is Lotus, Breach, Brainfreeze or something.
@@Anusien He had 2 cards in hand, at least one of which is likely known to Sam due to the ESB. I think the Spiral was topdecked because I don't think Sam would've taken the Blightsteel over Spiral with ESB. What's Lotus going to do on that turn if Upheaval got countered? He'd have one card in hand and tapped out except for 1 blue floating and dead next turn to the Spellbinder. Also, from Sam's perspective, Lotus would be far more of a threat post-Upheaval, so even more reason to counter.
@lsv just got best by you in pioneer masters draft, I went turn 3 hornets nest, turn 4 polukranos. Got completely destroyed by your ram, GG! It was an honor ❤
9:10 I know you don't normally like enlightened tutor, but surely having vault/key is its time to shine? I realize trinket mage gets key but it feels like having a card that gets either half for 1 mana is significantly stronger when that combo just wins the game. 28:25 One thing to consider for imperial sealing for flash here is that you have strip mine and wasteland in your deck, and torsten finds it, *and* getting 7 1/1's means you get to take back the initiative and keep it. So it actually does quite a bit to stem the bleeding from Urza since you can take out academy and regain and keep the initiative. Flash torsten doesn't immediately win you the game, but that line has to be better than taking a random draw when you're that far behind because I do think it actually puts you at parity if not ahead. You also have crucible in hand so you probably also get to keep taking out their lands, which also helps stem the bleeding from urza.
Was watching Caleb d have a gleemox stip and he never pulled it. Finally the unicorn appears! Not only having broken combos is great, but actually drawing both pieces multiple games is classified as a war crime! Good beats @LSV
Probably - one argument I can see for Trinket Mage is being able to defend Initiative for White Plume. It's not a big perk, so I'm guessing LSV overlooked the Tutor.
I'd say trinket is the better late game top deck while tutor is better early. But since the deck's able to win so quick with the combo, tutor's probably better
Is there anything that belongs in Power Mack (TM) cube but isn’t? First thing that came to mind for me is other busted mill cards, maybe Tasha’s Hideous Laughter? It’s not particularly fun or interactive.
I was close to thinking the cube was bugged. I literally never saw time vault on either side of the board, including content creators. Took till the cube was over to see it in action for me
9:00 why don't we take enlightened tutor here? If Vault is so busted, taking an on color tutor for both pieces feels superior to me even though trinket Mage is the way better card.
Seems ok on empty board. Downside is that it sets you down the value side of the initiative path, which doesn’t help you defend initiative at all. I think initiative is kind of bad in decks like this that can’t protect it or retake it easily, since it often just helps the opponent win.
Originally it was meant to only untap by skipping a turn. Wizards could've kept the rule this way too; it's original wording says "to untap it, you MUST skip a turn".
@@kinginthenorth1437 cool but the original wording lent itself to an interpretation that the only way to untap it was by skipping a turn. It would be an interesting card that way, though I wonder if it would still be good enough to see any play.
It’s been so long since I’ve seen it in cube that I was bummed LSV never opened it during the power max cube. Finally getting to see it again in all of its stupidity was amazing lol.
No consideration for enlightened tutor over trinket mage? It could get both combo pieces, instead of just key. You were quick to take the imperial seal a few pics later.
Time Vault/Key(s) gets a lot of hate in cube, but honestly, it's not much worse than thassa's oracle nonsense. It also it feels more "vintagey" in a vintage cube, and has interesting fringe use cases with stuff like pestermite. In short-- time vault>thoracle.
Clicking the video: Nice! VaultKey draft? I’m in for broken stuff & I haven’t seen that one in a long time! Finishing the video: Sigh. Nice reminder why I permabanned Time Vault from my cube. It’s just not interesting in the slightest.
Match 2 was a war crime.
Welcome to vintage magic XD
They don't call it the Power Mack Cube for nothing!
Was a violation
So ridiculous. So good.
We have a saying in Canada... It' never a war crime the first time. 😅
Thank you for showing that game between Mack and Sam! That was one of the most entertaining vintage cube games I've ever seen.
Really well played.
Cheonesque, even
37:49 What a rollercoaster of emotions! Play after play after play. Not knowing either hand adds that extra layer of excitement
It's like the end of Rocky IV with Rocky and Drago just standing in the middle of the ring throwing haymakers!
That spectated game was BANANAS. What a time to tune in

more of a worse version of imperial seal, could be worth considering
when going for every broken combo pays off big time
There’s something so glorious about vault-keying people
Probably the most busted deck I've seen in a long time. Keep it up
Might be the craziest set of turns on a look-in in these videos

@34:37 who up flashing they wurm
When Mac cast that Upheaval, I bet Sam had the Force and let it resolve. Heads up play.

7 picks in and Luis is firing shots! Love it!
That game 3.5!!!
This cube is what they had in mind when they came up with the phrase "fun and interactive."
Never got to see Gleemax get played or drafted before. Thanks for that. 💛
that live look in was truly something else, jeez
In hindsight that enlightened tutor would have been even crazier than the trinket mage 🎉 love the oops all combo deck
Swords after Stripmine and then even considering Misty blows my mind
This is a prime example that shows why Time Vault is usually not included in vintage cubes. It's like playing with cheat codes on.
"Whoops I win"

💯 should have taken enlightened tutor - I barely see the card in packs anymore
Nastiest deck I’ve seen you play
Pack 1: cheons
Pack 2: the most busted deck conceivable
Tale as old as time

Trinkert*
without being able to draw it with that many cards, et is probably weaker than direct tutor with tm
I'd say trinket is the better late game top deck while tutor is better early.

Is there somewhere this cubelist can be found or the changes to the mtgo version?
Now I have something to do the rest of the workday thanks lsv.
Was confused by no words about enlightened tutor when you took trinket mage. I mean with vault key to me this might be worthwhile.
Can't believe LSV is flashing worm on stream times are tough.

Time vault totally stole the show XD holy crap
longest round 2 ive ever seen. What a grind..can't believe it ended how it did
I want to thank you for all the 2024 awsome content! Happy holidays to you and your family @lsv
This was beautiful.
I'm a marine engineer and i cannot look at 'Time Vault' without seeing a 2 stroke cylinder liner
Just googled it. Excellent resemblance! Also reminds me of the dwemer pipes from Skyrim.
It's not just the car. It's the driver too.
the packs were giving the nuttiest lands deck of all time
mack V sam was a game of magic that's for sure xD
I was close to thinking the cube was bugged. I literally never saw time vault on either side of the board, including content creators. Took till the cube was over to see it in action for me
Anyone have a cube cobra link to this cube list?
Also would like to see this!
Loved this.
9:00 why don't we take enlightened tutor here?

Fantastic draft!
This deck was so gross and was nice to see Vault/Key as a treat :)
damn, really putting the max in power max
8:00 Flash in White Plume just to take the initiative? lol

The key to glee is having more time

Awesome deck!! Time vault has to be the dumbest card ever but it’s fun every once in a while.
Originally it was meant to only untap by skipping a turn. Wizards could've kept the rule this way too; it's original wording says "to untap it, you MUST skip a turn".

And you was already playing white
He keeps getting away with it 😅
can't believe they let you flash wurm on UA-cam
Pick trinket mage on a engligted tutor pack i think is a huge misstake
