      yes, it is, but its better than a allways broken down chinese hydraulic hammer on an complicated excavator arm (including its backup in the workshop) ... one uses, what is there allready... inefficient? maybe, but it does not matter that much.
      What wonders more is the residiue on the funnel-downward walls.. massive

    I worked on the drilling and blasting crew at the Eagle Mountain open pit iron mine down near the Mexican border back in the sixties. I also worked as a signal man at their Kobelco gyrator rock crusher. No massive boulders were ever delivered to their crusher. They were set aside at the blast site and reduced by a hundred pound jack hammer or blasted with a small charge of dynamite.

    We have a 4 story cone crusher like this here at a big rock quarry but it has an excavator arm and stick with a pneumatic hammer on it for just this reason, any boulders too big they hammer it or change to claw and pull it out. Its also very useful for cleaning the build up off the cone so nobody has to go down there unless its to change out parts.

    I know the blockage clearing hook gets a lot of stick from people, but if you look closely it’s a hook on a cable attached (not very securely) to another gantry hook. So the amount of control you have is minimal.

    [Note: I posted this comment on this channel's other 'blockage' video. I thought it was worth repeating.]
    All of the criticism from (scathing American?) experts seems a bit pointless to me. Yes, you could avoid jams by pre-processing the bigger boulders in another machine, or employ men to sort the ore before the really big chunks could cause a stoppage, or invest in sophisticated auto-grading and boulder manipulation technology, but that's a lot of extra expense. A LOT.
    If money's no object and you could afford the wages for the guys to man the other equipment and the extra cost to maintain that extra machinery, maybe that would satisfy the site foreman with one impatient eye on the clock, but someone, somewhere, would be paying out a load of money to keep him happy.
    I think this setup works well enough.
    Maybe it's cheaper to run things exactly like this. Rather than handle ALL of the material at least twice when grading it, you just shift the occasional problem pieces. You clear blockages as and when they occur, and hope that for the rest of the time when the crusher's running smoothly that the (significant) savings you're making on manpower, machinery, extra servicing, parts, maintenance, fuel and time will balance out.
    Whatever. It looks like it's a continuous process and, one way or another, the job's getting done. If it wasn't cost-effective to do it this way, I imagine heads would have rolled and the plant would have shut down long ago.
    So relax, all you critical experts. It's not your problem. Enjoy the show. It... rocks. 🤭

      This is in India. Yes that's basically all that needs to be sain in reply to a comment about costs and efficiency.
      I'm sure this plant is profitable, for the owners who don't care what the working conditions are like, or about actually paying their workers.

    I wonder why they don't have springs underneath the panels in the pit near the gyrator so that when there's another blockage instead of using that giant Crane that lowers the hook that just bounces around everywhere and takes longer for the dump trucks to dump their loads and the gyrator to crush the ore effectively and you could have solid controlled vibrations coming from underneath those panels to help dislodge huge chunks of ore. I don't know we only put men on the moon several times over with less computer power than the phone that you're holding we put a nuclear powered Volkswagen on Mars we build airplanes with a 100,000 moving parts filled with highly flammable jet fuel all built by the lowest bidder I'm sure we can come up with something better and more efficient than this primate style.

    We welded small rock bits on the top and inside edge of ours to give it a little more grip.

    That hook is selled together the cone crusher?

  • @garyr7027
    @garyr7027 Рік тому

    The sidewalls going down to that cone has a ridge/lip and is obviously a problem with rocks hanging on it. They should have made the sidewalls smooth all the way to the cone like a funnel with no lip to catch on. That hook is near useless, it waste a lot of production time.

    Get rid of this crappy crane. Instal a hydraulic jack hammer that can move faster. You are loosing so much money with this setup!

    They’re about as good running that hook as Biden is at running the U. S.

    • @youghurt2k
      @youghurt2k 2 роки тому

      At least Biden got a long lasting war going on, so the U$ can earn money again and get some production started.
      U$A can benefit from this for a very long time now.
      The hook is maybe not at work that much. We only see the few moment's when it is used, and think it is every 5 minutes, all day.
