I don't know why I am spending 30 minutes of my life watching this, it is.. so.. satisfying..
😅
it's not moving and you are trying to figure out what is happening
Oh it’s moving. Camera cant catch it.
Me: "30 minutes? Of this? Who would watch a 30 minute video of crushing rocks?"
30 minutes later...
"Oh, it's over. Ooh, there's another one."
My favorite kind of machine. dead simple. super powerful. fun to watch
Watch my channel's video
I worked at an Iron Mine about 40 years ago when I was a youngster. I worked this job on and off for about a year, we used a 35 ton overhead gantry crane to clear most of the large rock jams just as seen in the video. You get very good at using the hook on the end of the crane for turning rocks like this.
The crane operator in this video is a complete idiot.
Really, you were younger 40 years ago? You don't say!
@@snarky_user Looks like you have an appropriate user name. Hope you enjoy trolling comments to find issues in simple interactions!
@@snarky_user There's folks who were 60+ 40 years ago, wouldn't call that young...
Posting shitty comments when someone tells a cool yarn..... what a loser
I could watch this for hours. Worked for a mine in the crusher control room a few years back. It's very satisfying watching it on camera. A pain when it gets lodged and u have to hammer it out remotely
Watch my channel's video
What happens if one thats too large to fit at sneaks through the grading process?
@@Tuberuser187 They use an excavator with a jackhammer attachment to break them apart.
It would be good to know how it works, in the sense of what powers the crusher as it swings and rotates by the looks of it.
@@John-ou4rm it's mostly ran off hydraulics
i love the sound of this. Very relaxing on the ears, all that rolling and crunching of the ore.
Its like ASMR
on one of his vids i said it reminds me of eating crunchy cereal
Looks like they've been practicing with the boulder hook.... sorted in a few minutes unlike previous posting of over 45 minutes.. Love the sparks when the ore hits the hard throat protection plates..
Watch my channel's video
I think they adjusted the hook. In the other video the point of the hook was pointing downwards instead of up, so it couldn’t grab onto stuff.
I was surprised to see those sparks. Considering the fine dust present at times, I’m wonder if there isn’t some possibility of a dust explosion?
@@rlewis1946 These ore dusts are not inflammable, so no chance of any explosion.
@@alokechakraborty935 All dust is flammable.
The first couple of minutes of this were really cool because there was absolutely NO perspective to allow your brain to know the sizes of the things you were looking at. That thing could literally have been the size of the DEATH STAR or the size of a bathtub drain -- you couldn't tell, lol. It was like a psychedelic experience.
I mean.. the dump truck that's bigger than a house was hauling it
@@trevorjohnson2168 You see NOTHING but the crusher apparatus for the first couple of minutes. You see no dump truck.
Clue : noise that makes boulders falling... they are not small
@@honumoorea873 If these were huge boulders then the camera was placed at a great distance from them -- and so the sounds wouldn't be huge. They WOULD appear out of sync, however. But I'm not sure there are enough individual sounds to match them up well with the visual. Keep in mind that we KNOW it's not the "size of the death star," since nothing like that exists at the present time. I was remarking that you could allow your mind to PERCEIVE it that way, as an interesting exercise in imagination.
@GetMeThere1 Big rocks sound different to small rocks
I’m glad to see the crane driver isn’t drunk today
😂
@@MarkBrockman1956 whats a crane driver????

Someone lied to you
I don't know why this is so relaxing and soothing to my soul. I'm like in a meditative state when I hear stones being crashed. Hmm.
I can’t believe I’m watching a 30 min video about crushing ore.
Amazing. Love it. :)
At some moments it sounds like a dog munching on snacks they found in the cabinet... **Crunch Crunch Munch Munch**
As a summer student back in the late 60s I helped change the outside liner on a mantle like that about three times.
Wow this video is better than anything on tv!
No… it’s not. Stop begging for likes
ive seen some crushes like this with a small long reach excavator instead of a crane and hook for clearing jams
you can run a hammer to break up to big a boulder and then switch to picks and bucket to clear off the hard pack
For a sense of scale each truck is dumping approximately 100 metric ton per load , these crushes are big
Pete it's 100 ton or 100 metric tonne
Watch my channel's video
It's quite hard to tell how big it is until the haul truck dumps a load into it. Massive machine!
The biggest flaw to this machine is there should be a vibrator device under the sidewalls of it so they could turn them on and vibrate all of the material down into the crusher to help keep them clear of the buildup between loads.
now i must say im a big fan of KOBELCO GYRATORY CONE CRUSHER
I just realized I’ve been staring at this for nearly half an hour.
When the rocks hit the cone, you can often see sparks. Fascinating, but where do they come from? How does this happen? Is that from iron hitting iron?
Yes.
The giant comedy hook was hilarious. It needs the word HOOK painted on it in big letters. With a curved arrow pointing at itself.
Hypnotic and curiously relaxing 👍🇬🇧
The rocks sure do spark a lot when they drop in. Cool crusher very powerful.
Why do they spark?
@@dedogster Those rocks have a high iron content, when they smash against the crusher wall bits of them break off and the friction ignites them for a brief moment. The more sparks the higher the iron content in the ore.
What is the siren there to signal? Is it a warning that blasting is about to occur somewhere?
Can you show us what happens just below the cone crusher? How the crushed ore is dispersed?
Watch Iron ore crushing plant video.
What is this machine how does it work and were is all the crushed rocks going and being used for?
nothing overwhelms it. who invented this? very clever engineering
Her Majesty's Royal Steelworks engineers, I believe? (pulled out of me arse)
Counterclockwise, loaded.
Clockwise, unloaded.
For some reason, I've always loved working with and watching crushers.
getting my mind to concentrate on one thing is a problem and a half. Videos like these make it possible that i can work through some of my projects without loosing focus, believe it or not.
so does this puppy drop materials straight into the furnace? The scale of this seems pretty incredible.
From what material is the cone and the crusher made of? it looks like it's made out of bricks lol.. is it metal?
👍👍The crunch..so satisfying!
На это можно смотреть вечно, как на костёр😂😂😂
This is just a step in iron ore production. After blasting the ore loose hydraulic loader is used to load in this mine 100 ton capacity off road dump trucks. This is the primary crusher to break down large rocks to smaller sizes that are more easily handled inside the processing plant. Eventually after loading into rail cars they make various grades of steel which is is in construction of everything our society uses from sheet metal to heavy steel beams thought the automotive industry uses a large amount of the steel produced. With the exception of Tesla which is 97% aluminum.
Hope this explanation helps those people who watch this and can’t figure out what’s going on.
Pit of Sarlacc
This is the comment I was looking for!
When I was 13 ('63) got to see this at the Kaiser Eagle Mountain mine near Desert Center Ca . and clime up into the cab and walk under one of the huge Euclid haul trucks ! What a time 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
what is the next step of the process? where does the crushed ore go?
What's that stuff that looks like black sand they keep dumping in there? Looks nothing like iron ore.
Fe2O3 is the red tinted dust, and Fe3O4 is the black dust. They are both iron oxides
I could watch this all day. Keep making these videos please
Nice video 👌
aside from the vehicle noise and the klaxxons, this is unintentional asmr lol love it!
What are the sparks caused by?
Is the frame rate of the video distorting movement? I don't see how this works.
what does it look like under that thing? is it some big smelting pot?
It about time it was serviced there is too much back spin when it was empty sign that upper bushing in spider is worn out. I have rebuilt theses type many times. Concave’s was worst having to pour zinc backing at 1300 degrees.
How does this machine work?
Does this lead to a giant furnace or something?
If it would be possible to add some vibrators to the chamber, the material might move better into the crusher and you wouldn´t need that hook so often.
@@tripplefives1402 your point is?
Nah, keep it stupid simple. The flow will keep going anyway as long as there is gravity 😉
I would like to see what is going on below the crusher. Do mines have more than one crusher?
Where is this video from? Thanks
Cool! Keep it up. I love your stone breaker movies.
Очень увлекательно!
Оскар в студию!
I always like seeing the sparks
i couldnt stop watching for some reason... Hey what powers the gyratory anyways?
Something about watching a huge machine smash big rocks into small rocks satisfies the caveman part of my brain on a deep level.
How big is this thing? I’m having trouble guessing the scale from this footage, nothing to compare it to
There are videos of them working on it. You can get a better idea of it's size.
Hi there ! Can anybody give some mensurations so that i can picture how big or small this thing is please? Thank you
what steel the crusher si made of?
What is the closed side setting? Trying to get a sense of scale.
What is the air siren for?
signals when the conveyor belts are about to start up. Its a waste of energy to always keep them running so they only periodically turn on
whats up with the siren?
What is the grey stuff? This is oddly satisfying.
Is that a furnance glowing down there?
Is the alarm in the background a warning for blast?
What's the siren for?
Edit: that diesel engine sounds nice.
How about showing the other end of the crusher?
Minute 23:30 what is the white dot that fly from bottom to the up left corner, similar to tsunami flying object !!!?
Can someone explain to me why it is Sparking in the beginning?
Never seen this before in my 62 yrs. What the hell is that made out of, and how big is it?
забавная штука! хочу такую работу.😉
It's the first time than i see the gyratory cone crusher and sometime i see sparks on the cone. Why that do thazt??
Because it is iron ore. Iron tends to spark. Think of a bench grinder sharpening an iron tool.
Hard iron ore, as opposed to the soft variety which they mold by hand.
What are the sparks from?
4:45 Inacreditável essa falta de melhorias no processo todo...
Thanks for the video . Love it

Awesome footage awesome, wonder how many tons per hour. Keep up the good also how do the production look.
My estimate of its rated throughout is 1600 TPH.
@@haroldsmith45302 Wow that's amazing, thanks for the response. It's a cool job you have there
Incredible crusher, just a little side movement!!!
I wanna see underside. How it's driven.
It's driven by an electric motor, approximately 600HP I would believe.
I wonder how often you have to do maintenance on this. Anyone?
why isnt the well steeper to keep it clear at all times?
How do you even build this thing........? i'm speechless.....
Great work Captain Hook
What is the alarm for?
Different colours are because...?
I thought it was a furnace inside of the crusher but they look more like orange lights or something, what is that?
I think a sodium vapor light. But looks like hell.
Sounds like soldiers marching in the streets.
Amazing, fantastic the giratory cone crusher !
Would be nice to see the outlet of the crusher. BTW nice video 🙂 Regards from Denmark /Adam
This is so exciting to watch! It’s right up there with bowling and fishing.
不知道這機器是怎麼運作的?
What happens if someone falls into that?
That is a lot of yellow, is that sulfur?
No
what does the siren mean?
I imagine this whole place being run by dwarves like in Lord of the Rings.
А что происходит потом с дроблёнными камнями?
Does anyone know. what the siren signifies???
Any video from underneath?
What language are they speaking?
Thank you
