I've been a heroin and crack addict for nearly 20 years now , and began subutex for the first time 3 days ago after years of Methadone. I had weaned myself down to 3mg methadone in preparation to switch to subbys, and stopped meth 2 days before starting them. Very rigidly prepared myself for the change. It's been a little bumpy but as the dose increases I'm becoming more stable. If your reading this and are contemplating doing this, then DO IT SENSIBLY AND EXTREMELY CAUTIOUSLY. and only take the 2mg ones as they contain hardly any blocker. Thus if it makes you Ill you can still fix yourself with enough smack. Good luck
My son also waited 72 hours he took a subutex and is now so so ill. I don't know what to do? Should I call an ambulance or keep him at home? Have you got any advice? Thanks
@@nicolaroberts4405 sorry I couldn't reply sooner I just seen it, if he is switching from methadone to subutex he needs to wait untill the methadone is out of his system before starting subutex, but if he took subutex while methadone is in his system he will/ is in precipitated withdrawal. The subutex knocked all the methadone off his receptors and is in very bad withdrawal. I would get some methadone in my system and taper completely from methadone then take subutex.he really needs to follow a taper plan correctly with a doctor.

He was 3 days away from methadone and he took 2mg of subutex. I keep telling him to taper with hes drug worker. He doesn't like the drug & alcohol center he goes too. I said to him you can't afford to get angry now other wise this could cause you damage the way hes doing it. I am trying to get him in rehab. However to get into detox then rehab you now have to attend groups?? This is what he doesn't like.

I've got a question, what is the purpose of not eating and drinking 30 minutes before and 30 minutes after taking it? I've herd this from my Dr over and over. but I can't seem to take it without drinking something within that time. I don't think it really matters. whats your take?
You cant eat or drink right after taking medication because it can't be swallowed. It has be sublingual under your tongue and dissolved all the way. If you drink or eat something it will take away the medication to your stomach which it won't get it your system it washes it away. Trying to wait to drink or eat helps you to ensure all the meds get in your system. I've been on this medication for a very long time over 10 years. Been life changing. Hope this helps.

Waite till ur sick af around 12 to 24 hours anything sooner will throw u into precept amd immediate withdrawal so hold off as long as u can before u take the sub
You are NEVER supposed to go into precipitated withdrawal during the induction process. There are no labels on street drugs. We have no idea what we are taking. Google the COWS scale and print it out. Learn to assess yourself. You should be at at least a 16-24 before you take any BUP It seems that these days fentanyl is in most of the junk, It has a long half life and ALSO builds up in your system. If you are older, have a slow metabolism or use alcohol, I think all or any of these factors slow withdrawal. You have to learn to assess yourself on COWS & micro dose with the BUP strips in the beginning of the induction process. I'm not a doctor, just what I've learned so far.

What about if your taking er oxy but you chew it down to a powder can I take suboxone between 12-16 hrs even if my dose is really high ? I take about 270mg at once 2-3 times a day
Amazingly I have become more aware and conscious of how to administered and the horrifying affects of early administration as a result of rapid withdrawal induced by my clinics early dising. hoRRIFYING and dramatic for me and my family and neighbors!. This clinic Deals with one issue, oud and how they got it so wrong and continues to practice in a flippant way. Of course they were very defense and and not compassionate at all. I've chosen to try at home administration, somewhat trepidaciously, but I definitely am more concerned and knowledgeable about my own experience with the drug than they are. In defense of counselor and admin. , though they are a finger of the same hand since dosing is a requirement, they were more compassionate though evenly complicite through silence. The onus is on the addict, find the dealer that is not a scub bag, and take care of yourself.
My exact experience… I’ve been too scared to take my first dose because it seems so hard to wait long enough. I’ll have a runny nose and sneezing, and still feel worse with a first dose. The doc basically did not believe me. They think if it’s been 12 hours you should feel better. You’ll sleep better. Blah blah blah. Listen bitch, I’ve done this stuff for years. I know how this shit works better than you do evidently. I know many people with the same problem
It gets to be painfully noticable around 30 to 36 hour's for me anyways. I've had a sub for a couple weeks if I can stay off for 24 hours I'd take it and be done. Best of luck
Same I'm going through fent wd and I'm 50 hours in now amd I feel ok . last night was horrific then today I felt better I'm taking a lot of asymptomatic meds to help though so idk if thats what's calming my wd symptoms
Because it's probably fentenyl? It sequesters in your fatty tissue. This is what I think from what I've read. There is no heroine anymore. It's all synthetic. Not from actual poppy flowers. Just synthetic dope i.e. fentenyl. from Mexico or China. Stays in your system a lot longer.

How long did you wait from taking any opiates to start
I tried to switch from methadone to bupe, I wanted 72 hrs took my fist dose of bupe and GOOD GOD I never felt such horrible withdrawal

This happend to my friend for 9 days. She only waited 12 hrs. Had 3 ambulance rides. And came right back home waited then went back to ambulance

If wait 36-48 to be safe some sites say 72 since its extended or 24 hours but as long as your somewhat sick you should be fine
If your chewing oxy then you should be ok after 6 hours.
