Today's episode is Part 1 of a walk through Moncontour. This is part of a SERIES we're doing on Villages and Towns in Brittany.
Established in medieval times with a fortified wall, this was once a lively market town and a prosperous hub for processing and weaving flax into sturdy canvas. That canvas was often transformed into sails for seagoing vessels. Perched high atop a hill overlooking agricultural land and smaller hameaus below, the scenic views from the top are stunning.

We're young-at-heart artists and artisans, designers, photographers. Deborah has a background in writing, editing, journalism, and psychology. Mark spent decades in the building trades, so we're serial renovators of run-down houses in the USA, Australia, and now France.
