Question for Grant. What is your favorite Taylormade driver? I think it's the Stealth driver because I see a lot of people going back to it from the Sim driver.
The dad getting the picture with Grant and not asking for Tony is HILARIOUS... but also an incredible indicator of what UA-cam golf is doing for the future generation.
This is wildly true. I remember one of the top 10 pros talking about an invitational where he and four other big names were standing around looking at each other while Fat Perez was getting swarmed by fans.
Tony ended up asking to join me (I was playing as a single) to finish out the last several holes during a very slow rd at The Ranches in Eagle Mt about 10 yrs ago. I’d watched him on the Big Break, and on tour, but not expecting a pro to be playing behind me and because he is such a humble and friendly, down to earth person, I didn’t catch on for a hole or two.. but the sound of his strike, and the zip of the ball through the air, and hitting everything miles further than anyone I’ve seen in person, I knew he was more than a casual golfer (lol) I asked if he “played in college or something”. He said “um, well I actually play on tour, my names Tony Finau” .. then it all clicked hahah. Anyway, such a nice guy.. he even complimented my shots when they were so obviously bad - especially compared to his. It’s a very cool memory. A part of me wishes I had taken a picture of him or with him, but it was also cool to just have a front row seat for a few holes.
We called him Tony Phenom at the GMO because he drove the 371 yard 16th hole 4 straight days in 2007. Great guy, for sure, but after not following him for years after the GMO, was surprised to find out it took 7 Tour Qualifying Schools to make the PGA Tour. Wow! Amazing how he had to work so hard to earn that status. Good for him. Tough guy! The best to him!
I’ve always been a Tony fan, but seeing him in a relaxed environment and to hear him talking just magnifies everything. When he asked Grant what his goals are and where he wants to go, that was incredible! Great video!
I’ve loved watching Tony play ever since The Big Break. This was a big win two ways today. We get to see what a genuine guy Tony is and become even bigger fans. And we got to see Grant play extraordinary golf for the win. Congrats to both of you guys.
You have played with some absolute legends in the game.. but this rite here was the best one yet!! And I have been a Tony Finau fan for a long time but this solidified that for me!! What a great guy!! It would be so easy for someone like him to be a tool but he’s such a genuine person!!

Tony is just so freaking good! Looks like he’s barely trying and he’s still under par. Such a relaxed guy. This video feels like a father taking his son out golfing knowing he can beat him the whole time, but lets him win. And those par saves by Grant were HUGE! Great content!
Tony has always come across as a genuine down to earth kind of guy when I’ve watched him in majors. This only serves to confirm that vibe. Go win some Mr. Finau!
