That being said, Thanks to James Guillochon for posting this on Facebook. Also I used an app called BLE scanner 4.0 from the app store with an IPhone 13. I just looked and it's also available on Androids app store. You can see what the icon looks like in my video. Also that BLE hero app on IPhone also worked but was more difficult for me to connect to the Segway with. That facebook link / 533121458691234
""Fun""" fact! The Segway C80 does NOT ship with a top speed of 20 MPH, the readout on the main display is KMPH so when you unlock it, you get 32 KMPH which is ACTUALLY 20 MPH, 20 KMPH is 12 MPH. I verified all of this with a speedometer app. Utterly ridiculous that we have to go through these lengths to achieve the ADVERTISED top speeds of our devices.

Yep, definitely still recommend. Battery didn't seem to change much.. I've gone out on 30'ish mile trips with a comfortable amount left to spare when I get back. Definitely makes the bike feel a bit more complete to me.. I was always wishing it wouldn't govern the speed. It didn't add much power but at least I don't feel it pulling back when I hit about 20mph.. that extra 5-10mph you get going from 20 to30mph is plenty speed and much more satisfying. It's not perfect.. a bit more power would make it even more ideal for hill climbing.. it's still a dog going up hills.. maybe 10 percent better now.

What! *GASPS*😱 I need this! Can you see the 30mph on the C80's display, or only through the app? After you derestrict etc...can you then delete the app, or do you have to keep it? I need to see MORE! I wouldn't mind seeing a followup video! 😁
Yeah it's pretty great.. it's improved the experience substantially, my top speed is 33mph now and that was on flat not downhill. And no, it doesn't show the speed on the display.. only goes up to 19mph so I've used a speedometer app to get the info. Battery is still pretty good too, I took it out on a pretty hard ride a few days ago.. small hills and throttling as much as I wanted.. 45 percent battery life when I got back after 18+ miles of that. Also ..The phone just connects to the bike via bluetooth temporarily to allow you to edit the firmware thats on the bike itself. Feel free to ask more questions if you have them. For an Ebike it's near perfect.. very comfortable.. ride sidewalks/bikelanes/bikepaths, no registering, no sound, nice long battery/distance and no helmet required although I do take one with me if I decide to hit some of the busier roads/bikelanes.

@@tri0xinI got my machine yesterday! 🛵 I just did the hack a few hrs ago (& heard the beep)! Gonna test it out tomorrow to see if I get 30+! I’m excited! 😁 I use the Segway app often via my scooter 🛴, so I’ll see on the app if it shows up there as well since the Speedo won’t show past 19mph. 🤙🏾

@@tri0xin Maaaaaaaan! Am I??? 😁 BLE Hero & BLE Scanner 4.0 didn’t work that well for me….buuuuut “BLE LightBlue 👊🏾” was the winner!!!! Ding ding ding!!!! Oh the feeling of UNRESTRICTION *shaking my head* It goes on average 23-25mph on flat ground, 27-30mph going downhill. Maybe I weigh too much lol (200LB), but I would definitely prefer 25-30+ on flat! I’m not complaining tho! It’s the best thing that could’ve happened to her! Even uphill is usually 16-21mph now! No more CHOKING!!! Hey, how come you’re not in that FB group? 🤔 I just joined about a week or so ago, & was expecting to see you there. Now I’m adding accessories like: front basket 🧺/ 360 rearview mirrors 🪞🪞/ My delivery 📦 (I do Courier work) 👉🏾 www.youtube.com/@TheCoolCourier / etc…..I love this machine! Like you said, take it on sidewalks/bike lanes/ bike paths etc…(which I’ve done them all) & No legalities! Like in your fleet, you can’t take the Honda Cub/ NQI/ etc…where the C80 can go soooo. Great PROS that come with her! There are some CONS too, but the PROS definitely outweigh the cons! 😜
