@@maxyoko What a lucky guy you are! There is a great pianist Freddy Kempf born in Croydon to a German father and a Japanese mother. He lives in Berlin. The funny part is that he is considered a British pianist)).
Nice video dude, I really like that there are more half people talking about their experiences when it comes to living in different countries and their cultures and how it affects their character and sense of belonging. As a German (both parents and their grandparents are German) who has traveled a lot and lived in different countries for 4 years I also start to feel like that I do t really belong anywhere (yet) but I also have the mental freedom to chose where I want to belong in the future. I think it's a huge benefit for you to be half, it's a blessing. I also think this feeling of being at home or feeling like you belong can be created by the individual. Or maybe one day you'll meet someone who you wanna start a family with or just be in a relationship and you move in together. Then you will start creating your own home and with time you'll develop a sense of belonging. At least that's how I imagine it for myself in the future ^^ Loved the video max, looking forward to any content you'll put out
Being half German half Japanese (m/22) I can really relate to like everything that you said (Grüße gehen raus, DB ist schon ein echter Krampf 😉). It is weird to admit but I feel a bid intimidated sometimes when I hear other half Japanese people speak Japanese. It is probably because I hate my accent and can’t speak properly myself. I lived in setagaya, Tokyo when I was a kid (5-9 yrs) and I always romanticise that time because I always got 可愛いがってくれた. BTW I had a half German half Japanese friend in elementary school (in Germany) we used to hang out often back then. Maybe we will see each other one day ✌️ よろしくね PS i also went to DSTY 😂 I hope hope Frau Richter Menkhaus is still around

it always feels so good to see other half german, half japanese people out there :) i can relate to you so much. i don’t look german but i also don’t look japanese and in both countries people see me as a foreigner and i was always asking myself "where do i belong to? where is my home?" and i still don’t have an answer to that. i just feel grateful that there are many people out there who are just like me :) this video just popped up on my recommendations and i’m definitely gonna subscribe, i’d love to see more of your videos!
I can kind of relate. I am born in Germany and my parents are both Germans. Very early in my life my parents thankfully put me in an english speaking kindergarden. I was also able to establish this bilingual brain (I would not call it multilingual yet). This sometimes gives me struggles in my life when I only can express myself in english better than in my native language, which is German. Due to the lack of good english lessons in the generations before mine, my parents can't understand my struggles at all.
We have quite a few half-Japanese politicians, celebrities, and athletes in Japan. But they're all raised and educated in Japan and have a Japanese mindset, mannerism, and most importantly identity...which is why they're treated like any other Japanese. Nobody in Japan will consider SAKAI Gohtoku or TAKAHASHI Ran to be a foreigner or approach them in English. If I recall, they have both partial German ancestry. And the most popular and infamous actress in Japan was SAWAJIRI Erika, who is half-French Algerian. MURUFOSHI Koji is the head of Japan's Sports Agency and former Gold Medalist is half-Romanian. The most famous and popular YOKOZUNA in post-war Japan was TAIHO, and he was half-Ukrainian. The current Governor of Okinawa and MP from Okayama is half-American, but nobody approaches them in English.
I’m a Japanese high school student. I learn English by watching only English videos and I also wanna acquire German someday. I'm glad that I found your channel!

Btw. I'm half German half Greek and speak both languages. I definitely love both cuisines I grew up with. And I definitely love fish, since my mother's family is from a smaller Island and they have tons of great fish dishes.
I found this extremely interesting by the way. I am wondering how you learned English then? Very impressive to be trilingual. You have many opportunities ahead. I'm an American of British, Irish German and Dutch ancestry... I can only speak English. I also always respected Japanese culture because I like martial arts, Japanese cars and video games. Oh... And the Japanese dual sport motorcycles are excellent. I ride a Suzuki. Anyways, I think you look 80% Japanese and I strain to see the German influence in your phenotype. Anyways, cheers! Oh and by the way, I visited Sasebo and Okinawa briefly in the Navy!

Hi, Thank you for your videos! There are quite interesting! I am trying to understand German uni and education systems. I am raising a half Japanese and a half American kid at German immersion school in California, the USA. I am purely 100% Japanese. Both my husband and I don't speak fluent bilingual languages(English and Japanese). My hope is for our child to speak languages fluently plus cultural background while she is young. She didn't know any German language since my husband and I don't know much German, but this immersion school from Kindergarten helped her to speak and understand German and English languages, so far. She also goes to the Japanese Saturday school to maintain and learn Japanese language and culture. You mentioned identity crisis... I wonder about that. America is a melting pot and many are mixed racial children at her school, so she sees many different races in California and she is one of them. She is fine and so are others at her school. But yes, she is noticeable in Japan. Also, in the US, there are always racial problems and some become political sometimes(or often). My child is also learning French. At her middle school, there are choices of foreign languages: either French or Spanish. French is popular in Europe and Spanish is popular in California. Please keep up your great work! Your videos are so interesting for me right now. Are there any summer school at uni in Germany? Are there any for younger children? Summer camp? What do German children do during summer except for traveling? My child just attended a summer camp at the German school in Kobe a couple of months ago.
