Yep. He's had FIFTEEN seasons of double-digit wins as a head coach. 2023 might be his finest coaching job of a looooong career. What he did with the Chiefs since they lost to the Raiders was amazing. As great as Reid is, I can't help but feel sad for Kyle Shanahan. He had TWO 3rd-down plays that would have ended the game & he couldn't get it done. He had Brandon Aiyuk wide open pre-snap on one but Purdy didn't see him. The other was in OT deep in KC territory & the play he called was blown up.
That had nothing to do with Andy Reid's coaching. If anything, if the 49ers were coached properly, they would have won comfortably. I knew they were going to lose when they didn't turn the Mahomes interception in the 3rd into points. The offensive play-calling was horrendous. McCaffery should have had 50 touches on the night. You run him into the ground, bleed the clock, and only throw with Purdy on surprise play-action passes. The defensive coordinator for the 49ers proved that he does not deserve a job in the NFL. His situational play-calling was awful. Mahomes is a great QB, but he looked like he was playing against a flag football defense for the last half hour of the game. A competent DC would have stopped him at least once. The 49ers lost the game more than the Chiefs won it. Andy Reid didn't do anything special.
@@RobbieStacks90 So you validated the exact argument we're making Andy Reid is a tremendous head coach, one of five head coaches with three Super Bowl wins, and they're not done yet.
@@Jay953 That doesn't validate him at all. If anything, he coached a bad game. He had 6 seconds with which to score a touchdown at the end of the first half but played it conservatively when, realistically, another play would have only taken 3 or 4 seconds, and Mahomes could have thrown the ball away quickly if there was nothing there. The clock management on the drive that forced overtime was also horrific. A great coach would have won the game in regulation given that much time with all those timeouts.

Stop making excuses for Kelce. NO ONE should ever grab and push their coach. If he had done that to Ditka, he would have been flattened. If he did that to Lombardi, he would have been traded at halftime. Coach Reid deserves more respect than that.
This was an incredible challenge for The Chiefs but they overcame the adversity and showed up when it counted. Thank you 49ers, you gave us an amazing show tonight.

Coach Reid is one of the most beloved of all football coaches. To see Kelce throw a tantrum, like an 8 year-old, is yet further evidence of the much-ballyhooed Over Saturation quagmire that he has become enthralled with: the success of New Heights (Club Shay Shay is in fact better ranked and scored); the TV commercials; and sharing a romance with a billionairess pop star. Kelce's behavior felt "clinical": as if, had the Chiefs lost the game, he would have funked himself into depression. Get a grip, dude.
If you a sports fan, you know this was nothing serious. Back in Superbowl LI, I was in Coach Belichick's face at the locker room during halftime. Never put my hands on him, but I was fuming. Told him that we need to adjust better and run different sets. It was nothing personal or serious, we both knew that. He knew that I, and the rest of the team, just wanted to win and claw or way back. When you have players and personnel who are so invested in a high intensity moment they worked their entire lives for, emotions just come out. It is what it is.

I am a) Canadian b) non football fan so this game I watched til end and loved it. This man is great. And that guy who came in to hug coach a few minutes ago, yiu could see the love fir the coach and respect. Nice interview to gentleman and gentlelady.
How can you not LOVE Andy Reid? He just loves his players, and his players LOVE him.

Yeah, agree with other commenters. I'm not a Chirfs fan, but Andy Reid is just a gem of a human being every time I see him interviewed. Humble, low-key, capable of empathy - these are not the stereotypical traits I expect to see in a football coach, but it that what makes him great and he is obviously loved and respected by his team and fan base.
It’s crazy how Reid wasn’t upset that Travis yelled and got in his face like that. You’re a grown man in the nfl you don’t act like that towards your coach. People trying to justify lashing out on your coach is ridiculous don’t tell me bs about football being an emotional sport. Does not excuse anything. Jason Kelce even told Travis he crossed a line.

They are very close off the field as well. Tensions are high and this is football, everyone is amped. You need to yell to even get anyone to hear you at there anyway. He didnt mean to bump the guy, I think people are blowing this up for no reason
Utter BS! People aren't blowing this up for "no reason." People SEE what you refuse to see. And law enforcement can see what's there plain as day to see. Charges!

Andy is the best! He is a first class man but not saying that about Travis Kelce right now. The disrespect he showed Andy was unacceptable. He totally showed his true colors by acting the way he did, pushing Andy. Totally not respecting him anymore. Just unbelievable he acted that way in front of millions of watchers.
Respect for handling it in a that understanding, sovereign and positive way. Outstanding 👍
This was so disrespectful of Kelce. As good as he is he is part of a team. But his coach is 65 and for him to run into like he did could have caused him to fall. If he can't control his temper maybe Taylor needs to walk away from him as well.
It did not look like he was yanking or pushing his arm. It looked like he walked up too fast and realized it and was holding on to the coach so he wouldn’t fall. Yes, he was pissed but if you really look at Travis’s arm he is holding him up and helping him regain his balance.
likely to still cost him millions
@@MSL220people just want any reason to dis him
@@MSL220I have been a fan of football since 2003. I have seen players have melt downs due to being taken out or not getting the ball. I’ve seen players throw coolers, I seen players throw equipment, I’ve seen players have shouting matches with assistant coaches, I’ve even seen a player take his pads off and walk off the field. Never in my life would I could even imagine a player getting physical with their head coach on the sideline on national TV. Like it’s very rare you see a player yell at a head coach………. But NEVER ONCE seen them get physical. Players get ejected and suspended to bumping a ref. You going sprint to the leader of the team. A hall of games Coach who’s been to the Super Bowl with 3 teams and won with 2 of them?
Never put your hands on your head coach. Imagine how crazy it would be if mahomes called out an audit le and then threw a pick and Andy Reid yanked him up by the facemask to curse him out on the sideline on national TV. That’s just bonkers.
Nah he went too far... But yea Andy said he told him sorry. So that's what a real does... Cop to it... When you're wrong 😎
Nope! No excuses! He didn't "rush up." He walked up and body-checked Reid. As Reid started to tumble (possibly breaking a hip), Kelce grabs his arm and arrests the tumble.

Make no mistake… Reid will definitely address that between him and Travis privately. Travis and him have a father son relationship best I can tell. Reid loves him and Travis loves him back. Reid has always taken care of Travis and Travis is 100% aware of that. Tempers flare with your family. Happens especially in high stakes moments.
Legendary coach. He seemed totally unfazed by the moment. He knows the players well and understands their behaviors. Leave it alone.
Travis has thrown his helmet at Patrick, now he literally pushes his coach with a body check and you applaud? Fools
Will Smith got physical and partied afterwards. Travis Kelce got physical and partied afterwards. But Will Smith is the villian while Travis Kelce is the hero. Double standards abound.
Cope with it ladies

Kelse was very disrespectful with Coach.
He's a narcissistic tool
Do not make excuses for a bully! He lacks respect and self-control!
Speaking of Kelce.
He's a narcissistic tool that needs put in check
Andy Reid one of my favorite coaches he’s as real as they come
Two great QB’s , great show
If you a sports fan, you know this was nothing serious.
You were in his face because he's weak, middle-aged, and out of shape. How about you get in Jerry Stackhouse's face?
Oh yeah?
what when at home things go not your way and you are under pressure because of something like a commercial deal broke or your stocks went down etc you gonna treate your wife like that because of the pressure ?
That's because Belichick is middle-aged and out of shape. You wouldn't have done the same to Jerry Stackhouse.
Nothing serious shoving an elderly man? YOU are the problem.
he shouldn't protect Kelce. What Kelce did was a major violation of decency. Kelce owes him a sincere apology and fans too
Corndog might be the most impactful play in superbowl history at this point. It arguably won 2 superbowls and has gotten 3 flawless touchdowns in those games.
Kelce was obviously frustrated, but to do that to the head coach is totally unacceptable and he should publicly apologise for his immature behaviour, disgraceful show of lack of respect, grow up you child.
