I keep watching this over and over. The pedal work is a joy to behold. It appears so effortless. It’s as if Roberto is doing an actual gigue on the pedalboard. Bravo.
thank you very much I have no words thank you very much beautiful words thank you again
The first time I ever hears this fugue was the "Virgil Fox and the Revelation Lights" concert in the Atlanta Civic Center in 1975.
We will all remember Maestro Fox's flamboyant joy and audience involvement and the rhinestones on his shoes.
His light show collaborators projected a single prism image, apparently an abstract pair of legs dancing a jig, joined by others as the counterpoint voices wove in and out.
In his introductory comments, Mr. Fox described the dance on the pedals, and asked the audience to rise and dance a jig "...when the fugue hits the feet!"
At the end of the fugue (the audience dance participation was sparse due to the cramped seating rows and aisles), Fox led a "fish cheer" "Gimme a B!" "B" "Gimme an A" "A" "Gimme a C" "C" "Gimme an "H" "H" "What's that spell?" "BACH!" ....
This piece is, perhaps, the most joyful of all the Bach Fugues, and Maestro Meylougan does, indeed, call to mind a Riverdance performer. I especially liked the showman's grinning face appearing playfully from the right over the pedals. I wish I had understood the comment at the end.
@@winstonelston5743 yesssss beautiful thank’s a lot!!!!!!
That is correct peddling.
A Gigue Fugue that really dances. Outstanding! 🕺🏼💃
Thank you!!!!
Thank you! I'm absolutely sure Bach would be thrilled to hear this. And so were I.
Heartfelt thanks, wonderful words Thank you
This famous masterpiece he plays with splendid skill and breathtaking technique is overwhelmingly comfortable to the ears
Thank you very much really thank’s
@@mastroberto
You are welcome
Keep up !
as always, Bach is relentless. It seems that he always has so much music in his head that he has a hard time realizing that one has only two hands and two feet to play. I studied Bach for a long time, sang it, played it and conducted it. But the more I try to understand this genius, the more I want to know. Great performance.
Love you Thank you very much Bach is really GREAT!!!!
Well said
I usually don't care for a Bach Gigue, but this performance brings out the best in it
Thank you so much
Gratie multa
Grazie a te! Thank you!!!!!
Really I have no words...really really Thank you!!!!
Magic, pure magic! Bach is a gift from God. Bravo, maestro, che talento!
Yes he is!!!! Thank you very much really!!!! Grazie di cuore!
I’m a student and am learning this piece now, bravo! I hope to play it with this much ease and lightness
Thanks I am happy that you are passionate about Bach and organ music. With good preparation you will see that you will succeed !!!!
This is a beautiful sounding virtual organ and your incredible skill really makes it sing! Loved your performance.
Thank you very much thanks for these words
This is one of my favourite renditions of this piece, love the registration
Thank you very much!!!!!
Superb, you made that look so easy and your pedal technique would make Bach himself proud. It has been reported that Bach himself you to dance across the pedal board and you did just that. Subscribed.
Really really Thank's!!!
"...would make Bach himself proud."?
Bach is probably in the firmament at his laptop replaying this on loop studying the technique and muttering to himself.
A wonderful performance of my most favourite piece of music in the whole world. Well done! and thank you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, it is a joy to play this piece of music. Thank you again!
Roberto,
In this video you've played the most beautifull version of this Bach-masterpiece I've heard so far.
Thank you very much for sharing!
Best regards,
Anton (The Netherlands)

This fuga alla giga is so beautiful! At 1:50 Bach appears in all his splendor (as mostly usual). Excellent voicing choice and a lively, great performance. Congratulations, maestro Scarpa!

Many thanks for this splendid interpretation of Bach´s work, Roberto Scarpa Meylougan!
The rhythmical precision and the clarity of the polyphony are amazing and show Bach´s
intention and pursuit for perfection, becoming an integral part of God´s perfect creation.
Congratulations again for this masterpiece and best regards
Ägidius Alexander Marhefka (aka Al McOrgan, jazz organist)

Good on you Robert! I just had to come back and hear it again.
Outstanding. Your pedal technique is similar to that of Virgil Fox. So easy to listen to, no rough edges, just gentle waves. Thank you.
Really really Thank you!!!!!
@@mastroberto You are very welcome. I enjoy listening to music with my eyes closed. If there is a rough edge anywhere in the performance, my eyes automatically open. With your technique, my eyes remain closed and I just float. Again, Outstanding.
@@JMcdon1627 without words….really thank you!!!!!!❤️
I had not seen your comment before posting my reminiscence of a Fox performance of this piece nearly a half-century ago. I loved the Fox performance, I loved this performance. Sort of Fox with sneakers instead of rhinestones.

Grande Roberto!!! Ti ho scoperto solo oggi...Non sono un esperto di musica, ma un grande appassionato si, specie di musica organistica. Non trovo parole per descrivere quello che ho provato ascoltando questa tua esecuzione. Bella bella bella e ancora bella. Buona strada e lunga vita a te Roberto !!!
Grazie ancora a presto!!!!
Energia allo stato puro, emanata da Bach, riflessa e trasmessa senza sforzo apparente da Roberto Scarpa Meylougan, che ci lascia increduli e pieni di gioia.
Grazie veramente grazie di cuore per le bellissime parole

Splendid performance. There are a number of fine performances of this piece on You Tube. I'm still putting Matthias Havinga in my top position, but Roberto's is a close second.
Thank’s a lot♥️
