Love this movie on 4k. One of the best westerns out there. Would love Josey Wales on 4k, and The Searchers, and Shane, My Darling Clementine, just all westerns lol.
One of my first 4k discs back in 2017. Really great movie and a nice catalog title. Thought the black levels in some scenes were a little raised but I think that was simply the source material.
One of my faves as well. It was hard to track down. My husband got it for me a few Christmases ago. I only had the horrible Blu-ray up till then. I remember seeing the trailer over and over when it was first released. I did own the laserdisc and the first DVD. The last line of the on screen narration always chokes me up!
Adam, quick ?: which 4K movies really take full advantage of the technology best "show off" 4K and HDR? Best I've seen personally are Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Dunkirk.
Their are plenty of choices out there, but if you take a look at my best of 2020 4K video that will give you some recent recommendations: ua-cam.com/video/WHHi5X-KVzg/v-deo.html
I thought the 4k upgrade was noticeable in the night scenes. Was able to make out details I'd never noticed in a movie I've seen easily 100 times since it came out.
Possibly one of those rare instances where I prefered the look of the blu ray over this 4k, I actually sold my 4k copy and kept my blu ray. The video quality was a little underwhelming on 4k and definately isnt worth spending more than 10 dollars esp if you already own the 1080p. tThe opening scene in 4k, you can barely see anyhing that is going on. I hear Eastwood supervised this restoration and he wanted it to look very dark but the first 5 minutes or so was barely watchable. Not much HDR going on here, if there is then it is used to minimal effect!
I can see where the darkness of the picture would turn some people off. The fact that Eastwood had direct input with how the 4K turned out is why I scored it the way I did.

When the Ten Commandments in 4K comes out, looking forward to the review.
Everytime I see clint eastwood it reminds me of Gran Torino, "yeah, yeah, get off my lawn"

Love that you review an older movie remastered to 4k. Have a look at A Few Good Men. Both sound and image is great.
We've all got it coming kid.

Noticed that too, must be the age of the film

Me too. That score with the ending text, amazing.
@@MovieGuy365 Yop. I have the score as well. I am a major score nerd!
Nice review. I've had this for a year and haven't watched it yet. My backlog keeps getting bigger!
Mine too.
Can’t wait for Good Bad And the Ugly to be released on 4K in April. :)

somehow the image seems blurry ? makes that sense? seemed the bluray was warmer in comparison with the 4k transfer.

I love this movie and haven't seen it in years, I may pick up up. I had the soundtrack on CD, so quietly beautiful. Loved it.

What is the diference between de 2 discs that come in the box?
The movie is split in two discs?
One is a Blu-ray the other is the 4K UHD disc.
classic flick
Love movie. Hugh Clint Eastwood fan. Purchased it as soon as it came out.
Excellent movie 🎥.
Deserves has nothing to do with it.
