@@MichaelHansenFUN and 00:00-7:00 was the showing of pictures instead of showing the fucking performance of Battery.
@@kevinscarborough9982 it’s because no footage exists or battery in this show
My cousin who turned me on to Metallica seen them in 1986. He died about 16 years ago, I miss him.
Rest in peace your cousin, hope he met Cliff
This is awesome I was at this show at Joe Lewis, I had no idea there was any footage of them that night. The full concert with Ozzy from that night is out there as well. Good times and great memories so glad to see this again after 31 years WOW! Can't believe it's been that long.
I was there. I was a huge Metallica fan. They were really just starting to get huge. A year before they were at the royal oak music theatre just outside Detroit with armored Saint and i cant remember the other band. After criss Burton died, as far as i was concerned, the chemistry was not there. They went mainstream and i said goodbye but ill never forget my four albums including garage days, killem all, ride the lightning and master of puppets. They were the Greatest band ever. I have been saved by Jesus Christ. I am reborn in the blood of Jesus. Im a new creation now. Turn to Jesus and ask him into your heart and give your life to him. He will guide you. Hell is real. Understand? Hell is real and Jesus came to save us. This world is a lie. God bless you. Tim.
Yeah, they used this footage for part of the "Cliff em All" video. Amazing footage, and some of the only live footage of the classic lineup of Metallica.
@@timothymurphy2041 criss Burton ha that's funny
Joe LOUIS Arena.
What an awesome show. Cliff is still alive and James isn't grunting through the lyrics.
I miss this time period when Metallica was still Metallica.
I was at this show, first time EVER seeing Metallica! The nut balls on the mainfloor broke down the barricade and James said "you guys in Detroit are fukcin crazy"😎
Their best show in the era of cliff?
First concert...I was 16...same side and angle....38 years ago...damn...
I was at this show. Thank goodness. I remember well the show being stopped for a bit from the crowding up front. I remember seeing way more Metallica shirts than Ozzy shirts. You could tell then that this band was going to be huge. I was listening to them since 1985. Kudos to Ozzy for taking them out on tour and not worrying about being upstaged. He did the same when I saw Motley Crue open for him in 1984.
1986 was the peak over 1985 ?
My man Cliff! His distor/wah tone always on point... Specially on Bells!
Can’t believe this is on UA-cam I wish the clarity was better. I was standing in front of the stage as a bouncer when all of this happened. The main floor crowd was pushing on everybody forward and they were all leaning into the wood barrier and it finally collapsed. The roadies brought in a 40 foot long aluminum ramp that we ended up putting in front of us as a barrier. There were several kids that were passed out from not being able to breathe it was not a pretty site. I didn’t even know who Metallica was then, They were the warm-up band for Ozzy Osbourne this night
Give some credit to the person who shot this video......Otto Weyer.....The Man, The Myth, The Legend! Some of this footage was used by the band in the Cliff'em all tribute tape/DVD.
yes and credited but he didnt film ozzys set WHICH WAS FILMED FROM THE OTHER SIDE
@@MichaelHansenFUN Ozzy sucked back then. He was way too drugged out to be good at that time. I was at this show in Detroit.
@@MydirtyRat1 damn man that must of been hella cool!!
@@ArronP It was. I think I posted this story somewhere on this video, but all my friends wanted to go find someone to buy us beers during their set. I stayed. I was absolutely floored by these guys, had never heard them before. To me, it sounded like classical music being played on guitars at high speed.
I guess people who watched them that day couldnt realize what they really witnessed.metallica for me the last miracle of musical industry.best riffs ever
Thanks for upload.
You're channel is awesome
🍻
Hey Jacy & Lightbrite, I was here. Long before your time. I love you guys.
32:38 "yeah you tell em James" Lmao
Amazing
People who were in JLA that night know what they did to Ozzy during his opening song.
I do, 4th row
What did they do?
Blew him off the stage!!
that show wqas filmed from the other side of the audience- i didnt notice what happened
I was a few rows behind you. I can't remember what they did. Ozzy's set was awful. Metallica blew him away, but so did anyone who backed him up back in those days.
Love the improvisations on Seek and Destroy. You can tell they are giving the crowd what they want. Kirks solo blisters and so does James rhythm. Really tight groove being played by Lars and Cliff.
I love that this exists. I still love them but I really enjoy this era because this the era I got into them. Watching Cliff Em All everyday after school.
Esto era METALLICA ... Sin palabras !!!!!!
Notice when the guys try to tell James the situation, he's having none of it. He's all like "let me finish my song!"
where?
@@MichaelHansenFUN
End of Sanitarium. They keep grabbing his arm, then pointing at the crowd. He ain't having it.
I was at this show. I remember this because this is how I discovered Metallica.
It was their best show ever in the period of cliff?
Was there will never forget how my friends n I were blown away n so was OZZY
Ozzy himself even said in an interview..."I gotta go on after that?"
I was there, I was 18 years old. I was a massive Metallica fan. It was a fantastic night and I was in the aisle between the upper bowl and lower bowl. It was an awesome show and I had my four albums Garage Days, Kill Em All, Ride the Lightning, and of course Master of Puppets. I used to listen to them all the time and I had huge patches on my jean jacket. After Cliff Burton died, I felt that the chemistry had gone away and it was a different band. So I stopped listening to them because they were mainstream. I am a different man today. I am saved by Jesus Christ. I have been washed in the blood and I live for Jesus. Hell is real. This World Is A Lie. Understand,? Hell is real. In Jesus hung on that cross to save us from eternal hell. He offers eternal life. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and take care of your life and he will change you and you will be reborn. You will be a new creation in Christ Jesus. Please get down on your knees and ask Jesus Christ to save you from this world and Hell. God bless all of you. Tim from Michigan.
It is truth that uniondale is their best show in 1986?
Damage Inc!
yes this is an audience tape synched with the video
I think so too. Creep, Evil and Damage sound slightly different. Can hear more.
That's the New York show, Uniondale, NY aka Long Island
I know, I was there...
No. This is Detroit. Long Island is filmed from the floor. This is filmed from the upper level.
Same set list, though.
James even mentions DETROIT during the performance. 🤷🤷🤷
Was uniondale their pinnacle of all show of 1986 and the era of cliff? Ive listened about that
Man uniondale was their best show ever?
ahh back in the day when they had to control there pedals and it's not someone under or back of the stage clicking this pedal off, on, etc. cliff didn't solo which he did at most shows
He probably would have if it wasn't for the security bullshit. Ran out of time.
@@kevinscarborough9982 yeah for sure....
In 1975 Ozzy went backstage after KISS' set and shook their hands for blowing Sabbath off stage and calling them the future of metal/hard rock. In 1986 Ozzy did the same thing on this tour with Metallica. Both times he was correct. KISS is my fave band of all time. Funny, this is my last fave Ozzy album, tour and guitarist Jake E. Lee. This was a great night of metal.
Same thing also happened with Ozzy & Sabbath let an Early band of Van Halen play the opening slot and admittedly blew them out of the water...I think it was either a tour in like 78'-79' but after that Ozzy wanted to make a new band that was completely different from the style of Sabbath and once Ozzy got Randy from Quiet Riot that was all she wrote!! But yea lol Ozzy seems to put on the next BIG acts on tour with him and then those new bands out does the main attraction!! Lol
this is the audience tape synched with this video ---
32:14 the Challenger!?
i think this video ois the audience tape synched with the video
:)
They blow OZZY out had to stop show 2xs because crowd was going apeshit..
