first time i heard this song I was at my partents with my son. i went to bits, sobbing curled up. my dad without knowing what was wrong with me just whipped my son out for a walk. My mum just held me. i was 25 at the time. little did my mum know this happened to me but worse when i was 17. This song could literally sum it it and holding it in for so long. I|t made me tell someone what had happened for the first time ever. I ended up in a mental health hospital. So this song helped me finally get help… I live in the midlands in Endland and the amout of time its happened to friends etc. ive had my drink spiked twice. luckily the second time my friends realised the lad had no idea who i was because i couldnt talk and he’d said we arranged yesterday for her to stay at mine. he didnt even know my name. i have no recollection of this but they got the bouncer, i wernt to A&E and id been spiked with rohypnol. that night i was lucky.

For me it made me finally admit that I’d been SA at 17 (was about a week before my A-Level exams, so I didn’t sit the tests and therefore didn’t go to university and everyone thought I’d just been lazy by not turning up for my tests) and since having my son at 22 I’d been hearing the voice of the man that did it in my head for a year without telling anyone. I finally got help I needed and people understood why I ended up not going to university. I’m 30 now and in such a better place. I’m currently working towards getting into university to become a mental health nurse. It’s amazing how music can be so meaningful and genuinely helpful. If I hadn’t heard that song who knows if I’d have told anyone or where I’d be today. 🖤
