“Like I don’t know who needs to hear this, but people who are drunk cannot consent.” This sentence is so perfect. He says it like the damn fact it is. And like he’s surprised people don’t know that already. I’m surprised too dude.
ALSO THE FACE HE MAKES AFTER THAT SENTENCE. A VIBE. A MOOD. A LIFESTYLE HONESTLY.
He dedicates this at his live gigs to 'everyone who felt their choice was taken away from them' and he's really passionate about the message behind it. If you can you should watch his Brixton Academy live gig to get a feel for the passion he puts into his art. Keep the Dom reacts coming Steven! ❤❤❤
I am a Yungblud fan for that reason alone..this song is very personal for me..thank you for doing this reaction..it means so much
Me too. I'd heard other stuff of his and been unsure but as soon as I heard this song I was in awe...I just bawled. Been a massive fan ever since
I have never felt so safe as in the moment when I saw this song live and before the song Dom gave a speech to leave your problems and trauma in that venue and that everyones safe there and so many people held each other. It was beautiful
I always appreciated how this song wasn't calling out the glaring obvious style assault but more calling out your own friends or people you know and being like- hey if they are drunk they cannot consent- it's not okay, but it's a pervasive culture. And it also emphasises how it is not your fault if you are drunk like that and someone takes advantage. It's a more nuanced form of culture that I think doesn't get highlighted enough- especially posed from the perspective of being one of the guys almost- it's not 'scum die' it's 'mate do you not see what you are doing here???' whilst also crying out in the chorus because of how devastating it is.
Couldn't say it better
This is such an important topic and I’m glad there is this young man out there to write about it and this way raise awareness. As a mom to a teenage girl, I’m thankful to him as someone who has a fan base who can relate to what he sings about and pay attention. If it can have an impact and disgusting behaviours like this can be avoided then good for everyone. I’ve watched a couple of his live performances of this song and you can totally see how serious he is about it and the anger on his face. It truly comes from deep inside of him, you can feel it through the screen. And by you sharing this reaction on here for your followers to see, you are passing this message right along, thank you for that. He’s a wonderful person, from what I saw in a few interviews I watched. I actually found out about him by clicking a thumbnail of an interview thinking I’ve heard of the name before and didn’t know who he was, he looked like an interesting character and it drew me in. I fell into a rabbit hole after that and watched quite a few more as I really enjoyed what I heard and discovered I like his music.
You should 100% listen to the rest of YUNGBLUD's older music and his 21st century liability album because all his music has great messages
You should check out polygraph eyes unplugged (or live) too because it is very beautiful, and his vocals are rawww
I gotta say this is a super important song to me, bc its a song a sadly relate too, seeing Dom live and give his message meant everything to me. Being at a YB show with the BHC is truly one of my safe places and I'm forever thankful for it x
I’m a much older fan, BBC AMERICA GRAHAM NORTON SHOW IN JAN. got me to LOVE HIM! I have someone I’ve never met that made black heart earrings... I’m wearing them now, and now a new fan in NJ, I’ve never met, making YB doll! In 2 months exactly I am totally in! Message me if you are interested! I’ve given 5 pairs away, already! I’m near Chi town !
This song is definately one of my favorites by Dom and to see you react to it is so great
not enough people these days write songs about real important stuff like dom does. its one of the reasons i love him and this song so much.
I happened upon a live TikTok video from a year ago, right after the 1st lockdown of YB. He was singing his songs, and got to “P. Eyes” and before he started singing, he preached vociferously of what it means and to shout and tell friends if someone is forcing you into this situation! You, sounded just like him!
He said on an interview that when he was younger, he ‘didn’t get it,’ so it hit him hard when he realized!! They can drink at 18 there, don’t forget!
The fact he wrote this when he was 20..... damnn, he's a amazing guy
I'm so happy you reacted to this track.
Yes, it's not the style of Yungblud that you love, but it's an important part of his history as an artist. He's always been an advocate for these types of issues.
And the lyricism of this track is so clever as well. "Absent on absynthe" is one of my favourites I think.
This song lyrically is one of my favourites of his. He writes story telling lyrics so well whilst also being really clever about it. It comes across in a way that really shows that he cares and thinks about what he’s writing about. The way you said it’s an ‘important part of his history as an artist’ is such an amazing way of putting it, it really is :)
I had just started to get into Yungblud last year, into stuff like Weird and Cotton Candy and Strawberry Lipstick that were more up my alley, before the whole album dropped, but when I would listen to the older stuff from the first album, I wasn't really a fan cause I have never been much into hip-hop type of stuff, I would say that Polygraph Eyes was an exception because of the message, but the more of the newer stuff I heard, and the more of a fan of Dom that I became, the easier it has been to listen to the older stuff and just love it equally, because even though I'm practically his mom's age (I turn 49 this July!), I feel like he is one of the most authentic voices I have heard in a long, long time. And I am so here for it. In a few short months I have gone from someone who decided to check him out because my spouse loves Halsey and they did 11 Minutes together, to a total BHC Card Carrying member, 100% obsessed. 🖤🖤🖤
Eboe, I got you beat! I’m a young 71 in July, and in 2 months adore YB. 2 BEATLES’ concert and adored Boy George in the 80’s, so I needed Dom, now! Everything you said is right!I thank God for BBC America 1/15 and the Graham Norton show, “Cotton Candy” and that personality and ACCENT stole my heart!! I have his pink socks on right now, and custom black heart earrings on after by someone who also now likes him because of ME! She’s a young mother, I’ve never even met! Dom is a positive diversion WE NEED NOW!
Ahhh I've been waiting for this reaction! This video is so powerful, and I really repspect YungBlud for making writing about such a sensitive topic to cause a visceral reaction. That's what a good writer does, after all.
This song is also the reason I became such a big fan of YUNGBLUD too
This is one of my faves by him! Anarchist is also a booooop you should check it out!
This song is what got me to listen to his whole discography
I got fucking chills listening to this song, the way he wrote it is so impactful
this song is which got me into yungblud 3 years ago... tho it was the acoustic version i heard first and i immediately fell in love with the lyrics and dom's voice
I'm so happy you did more YUNGBLUD 🖤 ty 🥺
I cry every time I see this video! I’m thrilled that his people agreed to doing the video THIS WAY, the expense of it all! He probably wrote it when he was 19! GENIUS!
This song kills me everytime i hear it, from my youth and it took me many years to come out and say what happened and i luv that yungblud did this song... to get it out there and let young girls know that not everyone is nice and to be very careful , he is a sweetheart x
My children have his album so I have heard this song many times and new what it is about . He is super talented as an artist .
Yes finally, the song that made me a yungblud fan. I gained so much respect for Dom when I watched this video, I wanted to see you react to it for a while!
Yesssss I live for the Yungblud content!
This unplugged is so killer! 😃
I love Steven+Yungblud you’re actually the best UA-cam I follow there ! 🖤🖤🖤
Ahh I've been waiting for you to react to this song!
This was one of the first Yungblud songs I heard, and had instant respect for him for telling this story.
You see things like this happen in movies and tv but sometimes don't think it could happen to you, but it does. It happens in real life when it straight up shouldn't.
Such a good reaction. This is always a hard video to watch, I’ve saved so many friends from guys like this. Keep reacting to Yungblud, literally everything he’s done is fantastic
Yesss more yungblud!!
I'm so glad that you reacted to this I've all of yungbluds music but this one hits different but I still love this song. I also really like your reactions every so often I'll do a mini binge of your reactions haha. Keep up the good work you're doing an amazing job and really know what you're talking about. In my opinion you're one of the best probably in my top 5 all time favourite reaction channels because you have the exact right amount of things in your videos. You in my opinion are seriously underrated and you deserve a lot more people to know about you and your fans and subscribers would sky rocket
Oh I know I’m gonna cry so hard with this one. This song is so important, thank you for doing it Steven.
Update: I have just finished watching it and cried my eyes out just as I predicted before
Love this song. Never seen the clip and i feel so dirty watching it. Which i hope is the reaction for everyone who sees it because those kinds of situations are so fucking gross

Thank you Steven! I really love this song but at the same time it makes me cryy:(❤
Me too!
Me three!
You really need to react to the Yungblud album it’s one of those few albums where I like every song on it and every single one is different and has their own meaning. There’s definitely a few I already know you’ll love
This is such a powerful song of his and he has so much of my respect for making it. I'd love for you to listen to more of his stuff! Please do an album reaction to 21st century liability 💚
I've been binge watching you're videos all day!! So stoked you reacted to more YUNGBLUD he's the best.
I love dom so much
Wow I have never heard this before but it’s brought up the past. Very hard to watch but thank you for your words. It always make you feel gross and dirty. Unbelievable that he brought this topic to light but grateful if it helps someone else. I normally never ever talk about it but you really touched me.
This is a great react, Steven. As usual for you. And I'm glad that there is only one Zack who thumbsed down the video, but they still suck. 🖤🖤🖤
Lo estaba esperando. Muchas gracias. Gran gran canción. Gran video. Una lección para los adolescentes 👏👏👏💪💪💪💪
The POWER of this song and his message! Every single men should hear this song. I ger goosebumps every time I listen to it.
Majority of his songs are based on stories of his fans. It makes all the songs more real and raw
Hi!! I don’t know if you’ve done NF yet but you definitely should!! If you do decide to do NF you should do The Search reaction or The Search album (:
I loved your reaction because its so true
I love this song
One of my Yungblud favourites, such an important message
They opened for Niall Horan at the flicker sessions in Dublin in 2017
I appreciate that you like this song and understand the message. It's scary that he has seen things that inspired this song. I have experienced those things. I have had to literally fight off men while drunk and while sober. It is horrifying! Sadly, I have not always been successful, being 5ft 110 lbs. nevermind how much I tried.
Also yes Steven you did do this on livestream 🤪
My boy Stevie! Keep Growing Man!!!! Hope we can talk again soon! Hugs!
this song is very personal to me, and I love Dom so much for writing it. I even rebut criticism from some girls who say that this is not his place to speak However, I believe that bringing this discussion to a masculine aspect too. And seeing one of my favorite artists bringing this discussion into your music was of great importance to me. I always love your reactions Steven, but this one will definitely be kept in my heart as it is so special. 🖤🖤🖤
