i work for dominos and i’ve gotten food stolen from me on a run before, if the store has managers who arent total assholes they will call the cops for you and you face no repercussions since it’s not your fault. they’ve taught us what to do if we get robbed and how to set up our cars so that if we do, it’s not worth it for the robber

I will 100% never forget the cat one. As a cat owner myself, I couldn't *imagine* that happening to me. You know 4 Chan? The site where people do fuck shit for no reason and yet have the talent of actual government agencies? They have a longstanding tradition of loving animals, starting from when they established Caturday (a day when people posted only wholesome cat memes) when the internet was first becoming popular. They have tracked down multiple animal abusers. One of the abusers they tracked down had a documentary made on their capture called, “don’t fuck with cats”. I don’t know if 4Chan was mentioned (I doubt it) but they contributed a lot to the search. I recommend looking up some of the stories of abusers they’ve tracked down and held accountable. It never fails to bring a smile to my face.

Eh, sometimes you can catch kids because police can be brutal with how far they go. They saw the general way they ran off, they'll know where to start from and scope outwards (the Ring owner's house), they have a model for height because the kid was right next to the old man + they can give or take some for the porch, they have clothing they can search for by giving a full description (imagine your mom hearing your exact wardrobe she just bought you for winter all over the news for robbery ugh), if the driver can give any information on features then it'll help (since he was so close and could probably see at least half the kids face), they have a voice and inflection they can listen for, and I can't remember but if they took his phone/card then those can be tracked in different ways if they try and use it (pinging the phone from a cell tower/tracking card locations through the bank). The cops HAVE something they could use, but it's a matter of IF they will use it.

20:03 dear lord! Right before lockdown, my aunt told me how a friend of a friend of hers was frantically looking for her teenage son. Calling his friends, his friends parents, asking everyone on FB if they’d seen or heard from him. She mentioned where’d she knew he and a couple of his friends were going and what route they were likely to take home. The road was less than 20 minutes from my mom’s house and someone told this poor woman there was an accident there. She thanked them and went to see if it involved her kid. Sadly, it did. A known alcoholic was driving drunk and his the car the kid was in. There was like 4 teens in the car, the kid and his 3 friends. Idk how many died, but the boy was one of them. The lowlife drunkard BLAMED THE KIDS saying they were driving recklessly, but an investigation showed it was him. SOMEHOW, he got out on bail and a month into lockdown, he was drunk driving again and got into ANOTHER accident with a woman on a road less than 5 minutes from my mom’s house. Thankfully, she was alright but my sister drove past it not long after it happened. She was going to a nearby grocery store, it wasn’t there when she was going to the store, but it was when she came home. My (then) 20 year old sister could have been the one he crashed into and she could have easily ended up like the boy in the previous accident.

A note to all people who see this: at all times, carry a knife and pepper spray. That way, not only do you have a deadly weapon, you also have an extremely strong and very fast-acting deterrent. I agree with you, guns can be incredibly effective tools and can easily make the difference between life and death, but it's always important to consider every option. While a gun's threat only occupies whatever is directly in front of it, in a very long line, and only is a real danger for a fraction of a second, a knife constantly occupies a level of threat across any space it occupies. This danger can be dispatched with a single motion of the arm, and while it isn't nearly as potent as a gun, and doesn't have any more capability for range than your throwing distance, it still presents enough of a threat to be considered a deadly weapon and deterrent to any creature. Knives are also easy to hide and can remain hidden even when in your hand, whereas a gun is usually required by law to be visually present without the proper permit and is almost guaranteed to be seen once it occupies a level of threat. It makes a gun a much more potent deterrent, but doesn't have nearly as much utility or capability to be hidden. It's also to be mentioned that guns are guaranteed to be loud under nearly any circumstance where they occupy their full potential for threat, whereas a knife is almost always quiet even at its full potential; In fact, more noise usually comes from the person wielding it.

Recently I had a incident where I found a person passed out on the floor in the train station. My area is prone to drug addicts and homeless individuals. There was a security officer who trying to call out to the unconscious man for awhile, to the point where a woman suggested him to call the ambulance. To which the same security officer said, "We can't call the ambulance on everybody." Thankfully the woman called the ambulance for the man anyways. The guy could have ODed or was actually suffering from a stroke. Or better yet, we don't even know if he was actually homeless or addicted to drugs. He's a complete stranger. Common decency and courtesy is dying.
@SwordieSlice This happened in the US. Our medical bills are very high. But if you're brought by an ambulance and into a county government owned hospital, they cannot refuse service on anybody. You can still receive help, but you will be billed. In the case of the poor and homeless with no insurance, the hospital will still attempt to bill them as any other patron or they will offset the debt by charging others.
People would rather die than be billed because if you have a stroke or anything prepare for a 60k bill + a medicine you're probably gonna get an addiction from
@SwordieSlice Yes. I guess the foreshadowing of incompetent security officers for me was like a week ago. I got told that I cannot wait by the platforms for a ride. The station I usually use is also a transfer center for the city buses, so there's chairs and benches. I always arrive there at night and tend to wait by platforms with benches for my ride, as it's the only place with light. A security officer told me that I can't wait here and wanted be to wait in the dark parking lot where I had a previous encounter of close-call theft. I told him I wait where's there's light to feel safe. He then said, "You shouldn't feel scared because our job is to provide safety. If you continue to stay here without a ticket, you'll be considered soliciting by the police and may be fined $10,000." I responded, "Well that's weird, because I have been waiting here for months and purposely wait where the police can see me and they don't seem to have a problem." I don't know what's up with these people. There was literally a fatal shooting a month prior across the street, and they want me risk my safety more.
Worries me how much of a common occurrence that is that security guard could become that jaded about it. That or someone higher up probably tells them not to to avoid disruptions, as fucked as that is.
For the man threatening to drown the cat over money, the answer is simple. Just report the phone number to the police, they can contact cell service companies and find out the identity of the person, ping their phone, and find where they are (so i was told). Make sure to screenshot evidence. If the cat is not in their possession (presumed dead), they're arrested for Animal abuse and some other related things. They can also be arrested for attempting to scam you and threaten you if they don't even have the cat or the cat isn't dead!

The cops HAVE something they could use, but it's a matter of IF they will use it.

The lowlife drunkard BLAMED THE KIDS saying they were driving recklessly, but an investigation showed it was him. SOMEHOW, he got out on bail and a month into lockdown, he was drunk driving again and got into ANOTHER accident with a woman on a road less than 5 minutes from my mom’s house. Thankfully, she was alright but my sister drove past it not long after it happened. A note to all people who see this: at all times, carry a knife and pepper spray. That way, not only do you have a deadly weapon, you also have an extremely strong and very fast-acting deterrent. It's also to be mentioned that guns are guaranteed to be loud under nearly any circumstance where they occupy their full potential for threat, whereas a knife is almost always quiet even at its full potential; In fact, more noise usually comes from the person wielding it.

Recently I had a incident where I found a person passed out on the floor in the train station. My area is prone to drug addicts and homeless individuals.
There was a security officer who trying to call out to the unconscious man for awhile, to the point where a woman suggested him to call the ambulance. To which the same security officer said, "We can't call the ambulance on everybody."
Thankfully the woman called the ambulance for the man anyways. The guy could have ODed or was actually suffering from a stroke. Or better yet, we don't even know if he was actually homeless or addicted to drugs. He's a complete stranger. Common decency and courtesy is dying.

This happened in the US. Our medical bills are very high. But if you're brought by an ambulance and into a county government owned hospital, they cannot refuse service on anybody. You can still receive help, but you will be billed.
In the case of the poor and homeless with no insurance, the hospital will still attempt to bill them as any other patron or they will offset the debt by charging others.
People would rather die than be billed because if you have a stroke or anything prepare for a 60k bill + a medicine you're probably gonna get an addiction from

Yes. I guess the foreshadowing of incompetent security officers for me was like a week ago. I got told that I cannot wait by the platforms for a ride. The station I usually use is also a transfer center for the city buses, so there's chairs and benches.
I always arrive there at night and tend to wait by platforms with benches for my ride, as it's the only place with light.
A security officer told me that I can't wait here and wanted be to wait in the dark parking lot where I had a previous encounter of close-call theft. I told him I wait where's there's light to feel safe. He then said, "You shouldn't feel scared because our job is to provide safety. If you continue to stay here without a ticket, you'll be considered soliciting by the police and may be fined $10,000."
I responded, "Well that's weird, because I have been waiting here for months and purposely wait where the police can see me and they don't seem to have a problem."
I don't know what's up with these people. There was literally a fatal shooting a month prior across the street, and they want me risk my safety more.

For the man threatening to drown the cat over money, the answer is simple. Just report the phone number to the police, they can contact cell service companies and find out the identity of the person, ping their phone, and find where they are (so i was told). Make sure to screenshot evidence. If the cat is not in their possession (presumed dead), they're arrested for Animal abuse and some other related things. They can also be arrested for attempting to scam you and threaten you if they don't even have the cat or the cat isn't dead!
