Why buy merchandise from a street vendor when you can just steal it for free from stores?
well if you can't steal it, buying from a street vendor is far more cheaper. it helps stimulate the economy.

I think since insurance pays the stores the money for stolen goods, they won’t claim it since there it might have been damaged with scratches etc because the robbers grab and run, which makes it unsalable as brand new product prices. Maybe it will go to Goodwill
@@lazyjaney28 well insurance claim process is a pain in the butt and a long wait, plus only if the store owners bought that casualty loss which i believe its another dlc to the policy....

All of that loss goes to the bottom line against the profits when it is recognized on the books, it’s not claimed on insurance. When the profits go down business owners look for ways to cut expenses to bring profits up, if profits don’t make as much return as money invested in other opportunities, they pull out. The largest costs retail businesses have are usually labor and the inventory. Unless you can negotiate better prices on products there’s going to be cuts to staffing. The other option is to raise prices, so theft hurts everyone else except the thief.

Want are they going to do if they are provided work authorization, what are their qualifications? Construction, you need Osha and licensed certificates, police, you need school and training. As a Hispanic new yorker that grew up in a Hispanic neighborhood, trust me, i been seeing this. Up here it's mainly carribbean Hispanics but from 2010 to now, there have been more mexican and central americans and now Venezuelans due to the "migrant" crisis. I hear the conversations and see the crimes that many non Hispanic new yorkers have not been exposed to. Now it's just become more visible. It's honestly embarrassing af. It's my own people doing this. That's the whole point of legal immigration. It's supposed to treat immigration in an organized manner. Illegal immigration through an open border will only create chaos.

Who said those people cannot work? Back in a day, people would cross the border illegally, find a community that would speak their language, and would start working there. No Employment Authorization cards were needed for those people to work (though illegally but still). This time around, Mayor Adams put those people into shelters AND he’s the one who says “you can’t work without employment authorization cards so keep sitting in the shelter, do nothing”. Then, Mayor Adams demands expedited processing of employment authorization cards for those migrants from Federal Government BUT our beloved mayor also knows that there are hundreds of thousands of people (if not a few million) are already waiting for those cards and the whole process is severely backlogged. Why the hell migrants in the shelter should receive employment authorization faster that those who’ve been waiting for 6-18 months? Adams knows he’s not right but still keep pushing that narrative, bravo.

I'm from Queens. Jackson Heights has always had street vendors, brothels, immigrants, etc. since I was born and I'm over 30. This area is probably the most heavily populated diverse place in the country. This is not a byproduct of these recent migrants. Seems like the mayor is just using the people that live there to make up excuses for the migrants he let into NYC. Disgusting.
