    Great film lads absolutely loved it! 3 years ago was the last time I was there tramping around those mountains... one of the most beautiful places I have walked.
    thanks for sharing a journey and I look forward to getting out there again soon...
    keep up the adventures.

    Ah, great choice for hiking! It's usually super busy especially on the weekends, so glad to see you could experience it with less trafffic down the trails :) There's a lot more opportunities for hiking around Bulgaria, some more taxing than others, but still an amazing experience an views. Hope you had a great time!

    Rila mountain is the highest mountain in the Balkan Peninsula ... :) Welcome in Bulgaria! We have here few challenging Audax bicycle brevets Super Randonnee; 600km with 10 000m elevation. If you are interested of road cycling in the mountains check Audax Bulgaria. Good Luck!

    Hey, love the video! The area is stunning. I have a question; do you need to book the mountain huts in advance or can you just show up? Thanks!

      You can just show up and there are basic provisions inside. That's both a good and a bad thing, as they could be full, depending on when you visit, but people there will always try to find space for you, and even if they can't you'll still have a great time. (there are of course *cabins* along the way, like the one at 16:20 where you can pay to stay)

    great video and inspiration. thanks for that. I want to do the hike next year. did you use a GPS track that you could share or did you navigate by map?

      Navigated by map. The trail is also very well signposted with white and red paint

      when exactly did you do the hike? we have now also read that the stage between Ribni Izera and 7 lakes is partly dangerous because of the narrow paths steep slopes. how did you perceive it?

    Could You give the list of places You passed. First was Musala, then Granchar and then?

    • @Josh-Reid
      @Josh-Reid  2 роки тому

      First night was Yastrebetz, Second night was Musala (Everest) Basecamp, We skipped Granchar so third was Ribni Ezera, Fourth night was in an unmanned refuge, Fifth night was Chalet 7 lakes 👍.

    I would not like to sleep with others in a cabin. Can you sleep in a tent there?

    Hated the music, I pressed mute. May I also suggest exploring the various editing links on iPhone, other than simple jump cuts, and that you try panning the camera s-l-o-w-l-y when filming landscapes and detailed interiors. The content is interesting, the formatting less so.

      The music is traditional Bulgarian music and is what was played at some of the refuges so I thought it fit quite well. But yes out of context I could see it being annoying. I tend to stick to jump cuts as they work the best the other iPhone cuts can look tacky if not used in certain situations. I’ll work on the panning.

      @@Josh-Reid its not traditional. This is gypsy music. Bulgarian traditional folklor music is much different. Also didnt like the music.

    Rila is the tallest peak at all over Balkans and east Europe if we exceed the Caucasus that placed in Eurasia. The second tallest mount it’s Olympus in Greece for only seven meters difference from Rila
