    Looks like it does a nice job, could use some grass water ways in that field, I think. Good video...

      Good comment. If you look at about half way where I mention the machines price you can see another Challenger with a loader and a box blade in the distance. That tractor is fixing and building water ways in the field.

      It is trying to be spring. One day is sunny and warm and the next it rains or snows.

    Very nice tillage machine leaves a fine finish after task. Thought the Challenger was made by Caterpillar because of yellow color and the"C" in it's name. Thank's Again

    We have the same tractor on our farm in northeast iowa. It sure lets the neighbors know when we are doing field work. Funny thing is we demo a 835b challenger the year before we decided to get a 765c on our farm. The 835b is a lot quieter. The neibhors bought the 835b we demoed and our 765c could be heard down the road a mile away. I'd say running each tractor across 1200 acres the 765c was a lot more convenient on its smaller side. In hilly farm ground compared to the 835b and turning was a lot easier with the 765c being smaller Icould turn around with less bogging down of the motor. Also the 835b sure drank diesel fuel at high rpms compared to the 735c but the 835c has a 15 liter engine compared to a 8 liter in the challnger...

      Interesting info. A farm I film at runs all Challenger. They used to have an MT765B, MT855, MT855B. They found the MT765B was not as strong on the grain cart and 36 row planter as they wanted so they traded the 765 for another MT855B.

      CoolishBeanz awesome input! I’m thinking about getting a Challenger 1050 (Fendt 1050 in Europe), but I heard that trac tractors are better. Can I get your opinion on this?
      Also, if I want to do tillage on 3-4 sections (2,000-2,500 acres), would you use your 765c? Is it sufficient?

    • @xXCoolishbeanzXx
      @xXCoolishbeanzXx 6 років тому +3

      bigtractorpower yeah. We got it on the farm to use it and if we didn't like it all it would be sold. But rn the planter on the farm is a 16 row bulk seed john deere planter. And then the tractor pulling it is a 215 magnum with demco saddle tanks on the sides. Our farmground is just northwest of dyersville by edgewood, there aint a single field that has a spot that is flat for more than 10 acres. The 765c is a great option for a corn planting tractor. We did pull our 750 bushel graincart in the fall with it which was nice because it had a lot more power than the 215 did. But the 765c is a much lighter frame than the 835b. Also the 835bs got a lot more lug to them with that 15 liter engine tho

      David Lamb what type of equipment is it going to be running is the tractor going ro need to run?

    • @davidlamb6342
      @davidlamb6342 6 років тому +1

      CoolishBeanz very cool. I’ve got pretty flat land, it comes out to about 1/2” slope every 100’ running north to south. My property is 30 miles SE of Silver City, New Mexico.
      Question: have you ever broken virgin ground to start a new field for planting crops?

    Ahhh! it was sooo good! - when you climbed into the cab, I could "smell" the freshly turned soil - it's not Dirt! ;-)

      Two great smells of spring are a freshly plowed field and a freshly cut hay field.

      I hope to catch it in the fall in corn ground going into wheat. It will mostly be on an AGCO DT205B then as the MT755C is on the farms grain cart. I like that 4166 in your avatar. I really want to film a 4166.

      It snowed here in Kentucky today as well. Lots of corn in the ground with some growing up now. It’s a late cold spring. Some years farms are side dressing standing corn at this time of year. Over the weekend we were in the high 70s.

    Really seems like those wings do a lot if hopping? Does this vt disc have the weight package on it? I still haven't found a vt tool that'll move enough dirt. In North Dakota I ran a landoll vt disc at 11 to 13mph with a 9560rt. And that was abt the closest one has gotten. But with that tool it frames out to soon. A lot if times even just a quarter inch woulda made a world of difference!

    • @richeywcassel

      Horsepower is needed to move VT quickly. Power is torque times speed. Not a lot of torque required to get it going, but the speed to maintain requires a big HP tractor. Around my area of IN, we need 10hp/ft.

      bigtractorpower Doesn't a cultivatior with rolling baskets smooth out harvest residue whereas a plow without rolling baskets just till up the soil to drop the seed?

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  6 років тому +1

      The 6630 cuts residue and smooths the field ahead of the planter. It works about an inch to two inches deep.
