It is pretty amazing how much decent stuff how shown up in the last year or so. Everyone is jumping on the podcast band wagon and suppliers are responding
If they made a 4 input version of this mixer and sold it for 80 bucks i would pull the trigger in a second. I'm trying to set up a 4 person podcast setup with the best cheapest gear around since i've spent so much on my studio setup. Glad i found your channel man, thank you for your videos from one ohio audiophile to another 👑
Thanks for watching Jake! And I think there IS a 4 input version. Let me find that for you. O-H
@@ObscureMics hey man. Have you seen the 4 input version of it?

gain drop is pretty big, loopback is nice. Might be something good for a go-bag and since I don't have a 7B, it might be a good thing.
My jaw dropped on this one. Probably because I expected nothing
It is great that you are reviewing a cheap audio mixer. It seems like Teyun Q12 is quite capable. Also, I have found a cheap 6-channel mixer called Bomge 6 Channel Mixer. The most shocking fact is, it is only 40 dollars! I would be thrilled if you made a review of it.
TIA
Shoot me a link! I have a few more cheap mixers sitting on my TBD desk (to be done) - i love cheap mixers
@@ObscureMics I’m sorry Bark. I cannot comment the link at all. The stupid bot keeps deleting it, thinking it as spam or scam.

You've been on a roll with the gems
Feels good. The gems are what it's all about
I'll post my own experience updates if n when I can because it's your review of it that finally got me to send for one.
Plan - use this cheap model to prepare myself for better ones and learn as much as I can from it.
That's a great plan
It didn't have to have loopback for the price. But here we are. 😆
I was skeptical. Then you reviewed it. I'm buying one. 😀
Man, budget audio tech is going crazy rn. 😆
Its better than ever! We can make records with this junk!
Friend and I are looking to start a podcast and I found this on Amazon. Purchased it immediately after seeing the good reviews. Figured it’s only $30 but then I got curious, came online and found this video. I feel more confident.
Nice! It's really good for the money.... 1 thing though....the headphone out is not super powerful... So if you are going to split it out to multiple headphones... Make sure they are cheapies that won't need much power
@@ObscureMics oh for sure. Thanks again!
Thanks for watching!
You won't believe it.. I ordered this through Lazada in Indonesia from a Chinese seller for $15
Can't be bogus because another 20 sellers selling this in the same platform at the same price.
While it's not a big deal of a cost this very video made me buy it - and a dynamic microphone which is not the SM7B but another recommendation from this channel.
You are gold my man. Subbed of course

Hey man could you do a review on this one mr hotline audio. That would be great for majority of budget consumer
Nice sound but would be glad if it has reverb effect. 🙏
44.1 kHz is all we have ever used in fm radio for 30 years as that what humans hear. 48 is a bonus, 96 be better. Your numbers are all wrong, it doesn’t have 60db of gain. There is a video explaining exactly what it has got, a guy Chris pulled it apart and tested it. I have one here with no branding on, it’s handy.
Was just going off the documentation received in my unit
@@ObscureMics cool as, ill link you to the video its great youll love it
Can I have a professional music production on this?
With Fl studio?
I'd say more for just voice work. I'm sure it could work... But it is 16bit... I personally wouldn't use it for music.
yes
My brother bought it and had a big problem with it, even if we cranked up the gain it was way to quite
Strange. I'd say the biggest issue with these devices is absolutely quality control
How can this be better than the AudioBox Go, when it can't even pick up radio stations? The Presonus is an audio interface and AM/FM radio, how can you top that. ;-)
Lol this is true! Ain't no Tom Petty on the Teyun!
I ordered one to try I want to be able to use my mic guitar and headphones I have a condenser mic so hopefully I can use all 3 with little to no major issues
You should have no issue there
Do you know if it works with the Playstation 5?
I do not sadly.
Can this be used to record guitar tracks?
Sure can
This dosent have a driver so we cant set properly its quality. And we can't turn off the monitoring, if someone has a driver that can work with this
Hi bro, can u test it on iphone ? I want to buy it, to rec my covers videos directly from my phone. Thanks

@@ObscureMics Thank you so much.... Now I'm going to buy it. ❤️
For voice microphone, it's okay. But for Guitar with VST Effects, latency is so much to the point that it's useless. I have tested with 2 decent Computer with Windows 10.
Yeah this is not what I'd grab if I'm using VST plugins
I started a very local 2-person podcast and had a mountain of issues using Audacity with 2 mics. I also didn't want to purchase an interface with a steep learning curve or a huge price tag. i bought two Maono 299XS XLR/USB mics with stands, this interface, two XLR cables and a headphone cable splitter for less than $180. This interface was exactly what you said it would be. Plug and play and adjust input/output settings and we are rolling. Thanks!
That’s awesome! I’ll always be a proponent of going cheap when podcasting. Would love to listen if you could let me know what the podcast is?
Hi, how's the monitoring on this one? Does it have direct monitoring?
Direct and latency free ....not the most powerful headphone amp in the world...but it's adequate enough for low ohm
@@ObscureMics Thank you! How not powerful is it? Like, whats the sensitivity maybe?
So I bought this mixer and it sounds okay, the monitor is quite right in volume, sounds loud actually. My only concern is you can only record 2 tracks separately is when you push the stereo pan knob which gives a separation in monitor as well which I don't like. I wanna hear 2 channels in center and not in left & right.
Mixers mix. You would want an audio interface
Just ordered one on Aliexpress for $8 including tax and free shipping !! Is it too good to be true? We'll see when it gets here. 😊 Just delivered today, It's true $8 to my door and it's a pretty amazing piece of gear! It's pretty quiet and it drives my Grado Sr 80X cans no problem. Should've bought 2 at that price!

Hi! Just subscribed your channel , awesome review .
I have question is it compareable in guitar recording to um2
Thank you! Appreciate it a ton. And yeah I think it's VERY comparable to the um2 for that use case, and honestly... Between the two... I like this more.
@@ObscureMics can you help me with one thing I have a budget and there are three interfaces that are falling under my budget : audiobox go, focusrite 2i2 2nd gen, m track duo
Which one should I get 😅😅
If it was me, I'd probably grab the Scarlett. I don't think either of the other two devices are as well built... And neither are better than it at anything.
That being said. The Donner Livejack M.... Is the same price... And is REALLY cool
Are the main outs TRS? Do you know of a "review" video that mentions that? Do you get paid to gloss over a product's weaknesses or something?

im wondering if the loop back cuts the sound in half with a phantom powered mic the same as with a non phantom powered? probably right? If one is using it for zoom but also wants to have a live audience in the room hybrid like a conference, then that loss in volume would make it hard to be heard by the people in the zoom meeting.
In my experience it does not...just the sm7b
Hello Sir, I want to know if i use this mixer with my studio monitor speaker by using 2 trs cable and plugging it into the main output port of audio interface, Will it improve the audio output quality as compared to directly connecting it to the PC.
Honestly, if it did, it would be so minimal that you may not notice, IMO
I might be a bit late to comment but anyway. The main output on this, what does it do? Does it outupt the computer system sound to headphones? If so are the output able to run something like 150ohm headphones?
Yes but no in the 150 ohm headphones.
32 is its max for having any headroom
Would this power speakers? Or would you need powered monitors/speakers?
Good question. Im not 100% sure but I'd imagine you'd need powdered speakers. I'll try to test when i can
Live music to be specific
Cool review, thank you! Question, does it work fine with a Macbook that runs High Sierra? Thanks
Believe so!
Hey, i bought this one but why is that when I record. There is this high pitched hiss? Help.
There shouldn’t be. I would send it back
Can it be used on livestreams that involve music? I need to be guided please.
It can yes
What speakers work good with these? Trying to get some gear for my girlfriend’s music setup and trying to mix in the gaming setup to with the same gear you know what I’m trying to say lol thank ya! 💜
I have a pair of these that sound pretty good with them

Got one of these. Having problems with monitoring (I'm using it for my guitar) I can't seem to figure out how to only listen to the wet signal (im using digital effects), and get rid of the dry signal.
Have you tried the loop back button? Usb/pc
Currently, in Vietnam, we can buy it for $14
That’s awesome. Well worth it
Is this asio based? Can i play and listen simultaneously?
Yep!
Can you adjust more bass and treble to your voice?
Not with the device no
Hi friend, Actually I'm finding an audio interface for my singing recording, because without audio interface, my record is a little bit delayed to music beat, so Q12 can improve this problem?
I would say yes it can.
What does the 1L-2R switch do?
Stereo
With the mic condenser, what input does it go out of?
I believe it was 1
Pretty cool interface. That’s a smokin’ deal!
🔥🔥🔥
Can it connect 2 condenser Mics at a Time?
Yes
Does a guitar sound good on it? I'm just starting in recording and making music. Good enough for that?
Good enough indeed
One more Q, is the latency bad? I've read some crank pants reviews on Amazon. Thanks.@@ObscureMics
a question:
if the loopback is turned off, lets say if we are recording the mic input while playing a backtrack from the pc, will the backtrack still be heard in the headphone out (combined with the mic input)?
I believe it SHOULD as long as you have the sound output on computer set as the Teyun (audio codec)
does the 3rd input have phantom power?
It does not, it has a low voltage output that will power an electret
I need to get one of these quick
Great deal
Makes me feel tempted to just grab that in the future, a cheapo arm and another xm8500 and grab that for the dorms.
If I won't be a lazy jerk about it of course
That's really..... A great setup lol. For what... $50-60 bucks?
@@ObscureMics Pretty much hitting the $70 mark with a cable and a clown nose, yeah
Which most folks have already.... I think?
Thats a really good setup: the mixer is $29.99, a windscreen for the Xm8500 for $3, an xlr cable for 9.39, you can get an xm8500 for $19.90 currently, a 9.90 boom arm or desktop mic stand, and that should cost you $73.13 without tax. So this is a great budget set up
i connect that to laptop to speaker i turn up laptop sound 80 % and control it to the mixer speaker 3.5 to 1/4 jack plug
One thing that the Teyun unit does not have is ASIO. You really need that if you want to record to synch or click track. You can't play midi keyboards because it is very delayed. Do not get this if you want to use it for music recording.
agreed....this is definitely more of a content creator style device...good enough for basics
does it phantom power just one mic or both and if both is it the same time?
can I use the phantom power on mic one and my own condenser phantom mic powered separately into a mic 2 at the same time, if mic one is only one powered
I ordered one just this morning here in Aizawl India and I'm really happy to hear your review of it.
Just one thing though it's marketed under a different name here.
It is the same device.....it goes by many names lol

Your review helped me to decide and buy the one I just found...and subscribe 😊
Much appreciated!!! Just don't expect TOO much! It's a great buy...but it's by no means a top notch device. It's plenty good enough for non professional applications
Double dipping on the comments. I respectfully recommend you clarify with your subscriber base that this is not aj interface that works with a DAW like what DIY Studio-Studs typically look for. There are several complaints due to false product descriptions.
What DAW does it not work with? I have no issues
@ObscureMics reviews aren't specific. But they say it's just a mixer, it doesn't work with DAWs. If you have no issues then perhaps they aren't utilizing their rig correctly. I was hoping to plug my guitar in or my amps effect loop "Send" into it and record through Waveform.
@@annex6 yeah I have no issues using it with a daw....and it's a digital mixer...so it really shouldn't be a problem for anyone

q12 vs fifine SC3 (minus the gimmicks of the sc3)? I got the fifine SC3 and K669D and found on the dynamic setting on the back, half gain it overloaded the preamp and I got a lot of clipping even though I was only hitting -20db ish in obs. I don't see a lot of reviewers testing loudness that a interface can handle ever and I think its something that should be tested tbh.
Hard to say sc3 when the q12 is half the price and possibly better. Like the idea of loudness testing...but im not sure of how to set the "standard" on such a test
Received mine today, the statics noise is so high that I have to return it.
I do believe QC issues are a thing with these....but once you get a good one, its real good for the money
TEYUN Q12 the real champion !.. Price and Soud Clarity is quality.. best interface
Hard to argue that...too cheap to try to lol
does somebody know if this interface has any driver to get rid of the lag... It works great but there's a little bit of lag when it comes to recording
I do not believe a driver exists. Do you have the ASIO4ALL driver installed?
I brought this mixer with your link. Hope you get the credit. The headphone amp is almost unusable. But it’s an easy fix. Thanks for the review.
Appreciate you. My headphone amp does ok....but I also use 32ohm headphones
basically can I plug 2 condenser mics at same time with both being powered by that boards phantom power for both same time?
Let me confirm, but I believe so
hey obscure mics? i heard that the latency in usb mode is not good, is it true?
I personally had no issues with it
I am really not lucky with these chinese products. Mine Teyun is super quiet. Only chinese audio device, which is nice to me right now, is Superlux D421. I also liked headphones - Superlux HD-330, Sivga Robin and 023.
Superlux is pretty dang solid
Thanks for this video! I'm curious on how I could power up the 48v phantom power. I bought one but it doesn't have any power adapter with it. What should I plug it in with?
The usb cable it comes with can be plugged into any usb port... Or a phone charging brick if you don't want to use a computer
I just got mine recently, and here are some of the pros and cons. If you want to use it as a usb connector it does it's job really well, but since the design is simplistic and minimalistic and its only features are gain and volume control I would suggest that you should pair it with a multi-channel audio mixer or a soundcard that has vocal effects on it like reverb.
Agreed
Wow did this will work with am8
It does yeah
@@ObscureMics okay thanks

If that is so, does the volume gain for Input 1 control the volume level for both the condenser mic in the 1/8 inch input and the keyboard in the 1/4 inch input at the same time?
Any feedback here will be really helpful. Thank you very much.
