Agreed, their station setup is a little annoying, you really have to pay attention where you're departing from!

I am regularly travelling Europe with train and in I rode this train once in its full lenght. I think, that trains can totally replace airplanes in medium range travel (like this Budapest-Bratislava-Prague route). With construction of high speed rail also in eastern part of the EU it would be even better. The beginning of construction of 320 km/h HSR from Prague to Bratislava/Vienna is scheduled to 2026, so lets hope, it will not be postponed because of lack of funding caused by current geopolitical situation...

I totally agree, we don't need flights on these routes. Fast trains are great however I notice people care more about frequency and direct trains, well its delenending on many factors. Personally I really like this route.

@@Trainviking Oh, Yes... Frequency and direct trains is more important. Changing the train cost you time, same as waiting for train if the frequency is not high enough. It is not comfortable to change trains. I am frequently travelling from Olomouc (CZ) via Cheb (CZ) and Nürnberg (DE) to Darmstadt (DE) by train (shortest and cheapest way how to get from Olomouc to Darmstadt). The double changing of the trains is pain in the ass. From Olomouc to Cheb, there is direct train and I love it. However, in Cheb i need to change to train from Cheb to Nürnberg. And the worst thing is, that trains on this route goes only once per 2 hours or less... It is really sad, that at least between Prague and Nürnberg there is no direct train connection. :(

For ticket prices, the best thing you van do is go to zsssk.sk or cd.cz. because this is all withing the Schengen zone, there is no border control, well almost no border control.
