  • In today’s video, we are plowing some long country driveways after we got about 8 inches of snow, with lots of wind, which created some pretty significant drifts. Managed to only get stuck once with a little pull backwards I was able to get right out. The reason I got stuck was from the snow being heavy since temperatures were near 40° at this point so without the plow having down pressure, it lifted over the heavy snow, which resulted in me getting stuck . Hope you enjoy these drone shots. Comment below what you would like to see more of the future.

I guess that is subjective to the owner - and always will be. It is well known that the 2500 Cummins quad cab makes arguably the best plowing set up, limited slip rear diff, coupled with a Boss Stainless V, 9'2". Mine is a tank, and have plowed around Chevy's at times. Most say it is the weight of the iron duke (Cummins) on the front axle together with the 920lb V Plow that makes the diffeerence. In addition, I run 600lbs of sand bags behind the rear axle and between the tailgate. I made a wood box out of 2X10"'s to keep the sand bags in-place and not slide forward adding weight to the mid and front axle. Cheeers, and happy plowing!

Thanks for the reply@@imsicke1, but facts are important to be taken seriously though....Have you ever been to Indiana, USA, by chance? Cheers ;-)
"Cummins Inc. is an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures, and distributes engines, filtration and power generation products.[2] Cummins also services engines and related equipment, including fuel systems, controls, air handling, filtration, emission control, electrical power generation systems, and trucks.
Headquartered in Columbus, Indiana, Cummins sells in approximately 190 countries and territories through a network of more than 600 company-owned and independent distributors and approximately 7,200 dealers. Cummins reported a net income of $2.15 billion on sales of $28 billion in 2022."

@@donw.2715 Facts are important and while I never said anything bad about Cummins as an engine.... the FACTs that I was saying was that dodge doesn't even build and design their own engines so to me it's a Frankensteined truck lol. Not to mention Fiat owns Dodge now and that means it's an Italian owned truck. You can't argue that when a parent company owns a child company that orders are not coming down from the parent company... hence dodge Chrysler are sell outs and if it was so bad that they need to sell then their products were not very popular. I believe the only dodge trucks that were great were 80s and 1995. So facts again Cummins is a great engine and good company but dodge in itself should be ashamed to sell out to another country. That's worse then Chevy taking a bailout from the government. FACTS my friend. Plus trucks are trucks and all can come with limited slip rear diffs my F350 has it so it's not something special only to dodge lol. Finally yes I have been to Indiana a few times.

I specifically avoided buying a home with a long driveway for this exact reason. Central MN is quite windy despite trees people have blocking it. Half a foot of snow turns into 3-4 foot drifts fairly quick.

I would recommend getting rid of the snow flap on top of the plow. The snow will fly right over those high sides of the driveway and it won't accumulate in front of the plow nearly as much. Much better chance at getting trough those deep areas. I have been plowing for 40 years and what a difference when i got rid of my flap. Great camera work.

With ashigh as the banks are I doubt that's going to make a difference.. The only way to get it to roll up over the side is more speed and alot of times you can't go that fast

Question does the drag on the back reduce traction in the front noticeably? I have the same setup but no rear drag and have been considering it. Thanks great video. Keep pushing.

Nice truck!!! Special order single cab dually is it an auto tranz?. My NOS plow truck is one of the last square body's. 1989 single cab 1 ton 454 manual tranz with a tool box bed and an old school western strait blade. It was a forestry truck it only has 52K original miles on it. I had been plowing deep snow in Alaska with a 1978 Scottsdale for 30+ years that truck has been plow truck its whole life. I never had to do any real work to it that truck. No hard parts not even a u-joint. I payed 1500$ with the plow for that 78. I just ran it hard and put it away in the summer. I never had drivetrain problems the 350 smokes and the distributer died last year and the cab has wifi floors but it just works I actually have older split rim tube tires on it and the tires are older than me I never put air in them. Let me know in 20 years if ur truck is still plowing snow >>OK :) I saw a brand new Ford plow truck on a tow truck the other day probably electrical problems. I luv the old trucks they don't beep or have airbags and have 9000 less wires were made for men not furrys like the new trucks. My newer toyota taco is so scared of its own shadow it locked me out 100 miles from home had to smash a window 350$. Auto locking doors are for scared city-idiots and if you slide sideways on the ice it beeps, hits the brakes, cries and tampons fall from the ceiling the other day the engine wire harness started burning it has 65k miles already a pile of shit. After driving the old chevy all day i jump in that toyota and immediately fell like a bitch and start putting on makup:) new trucks are made for girlbois with soft hands and bitchtits, more tvs more tampon dispensers and some new fangled tailgates that wont even hold my fat oldlady. Can't weld on them can't slide sideways, can't drive with the seat belt off, Can't leave doors unlocked, Can't tiedown and empty cardboard box without bending bed rails. The new trucks of 2030 for safety, wont start, wont move it will just have a windshield made of tv screens that will auto play the Kardashians, a steering wheel that is shaped like a penis and when stroked it spits lotion on ur hands to keep them soft with optional auto tampon insertion machine for the new lower48 males. The new makeup package Fords made for newmetromales will have a ky dispenser and a selfie stick attached to a buttplug with fox tail included a tailgate made of memory foam for spooning on the jobsite.

I have a western V plow and every year when I’m plowing, I push the snow so far and then the 2500 Dodge gets bogged down with too much snow in front of it. What is the best way to push snow without getting stuck?
Some of the guys tell me to raise the plow 3 to 4 inches off of the rock. Some say to keep it V’d some say flat, no matter which way I do it I wind up having to push the snow off to the left or right, and takes forever
Some say don’t have too much weight over the tail put it all forwards some say put as much weight on the tail as you can. I’ve tried everything is it just too light of a truck for pushing snow? Does anybody have an idea?

@@chevydmax1000 I had one on the first plow, but the next few don’t have them on there. When I use chains, I rarely get stuck if getting stuck at all. I think I’m plowing too late after the snow has a chance to compact maybe

Why would you drive a plow into a 4' drift? Especially a plow that's only about 24" high?
EDIT: You need a bigger plow than that for that truck. Your truck barely clears the kerf you're making, and if you get much rollback from plowing so slowly, it'll roll back under your truck and you'll need to shovel again.
