Insightful tips from an individual who is a very accomplished field macro-photographer. Not to mention the jaw-dropping photographs! Hey OMSystems - You need to put an OM 1 ii and a 90 mm macro in Trey’s capable hands!
Yo I love how you went step by step with your decision making in each situation, and made a point to adjust your setting and approach. I'm teaching a macro photo workshop next week, and I give my attendees a UA-cam playlist for more info--just added this one to the list!
Hi Trey just stumbled across your channel - a very informative video there and as a macro photographer myself you've just gained one more subscriber. Look forward to more of your work. 👍
I continue to be amazed by the quality and variety of your work. Your knowledge of the bugs is impressive too! I always learn something from your videos.
You're images were fantastic throughout this video Trey, and the tutorial content is probably the best I've watched on macro photography. I'm so glad that you are sharing this content. Thanks!
Thank you very much for the great video. The pictures are absolutely fantastic! I have been admiring your work for a long time and you are a real inspiration for me, maybe unmatched for me but the way is beautiful! Thank you
Good advice about stopping and thinking about the composition, real easy to get lost in the excitement of 'got it!' and not consider the background, aspect, etc. Amazing photos as usual, very impressed by your skills and your ability to spot the weird and wonderful subjects where you live.
Recently discovered your channel really enjoy your films, thanks. Just want to say, you may well be aware already but many of the plants we experience in the wild are toxic to the touch so please bear this in mind and be careful! All the best from the UK, cheers. PS your photos are superb, the image of the grey fly at 10.04 is outstanding!
Your macro skills are out of this world. Handheld focus stacking? I drink way too much coffee to be able to pull that off. I can't image being that stable.
Another great series of images. Unfortunately, I am unable to hold my camera, etc., steady enough for focus stacking or bracketing: and I hardly ever take out my monopod or one of my tripods for insect work - too much messing about and not very spontaneous. Instead, I tend to shoot at anywhere between f13 - f16. Years ago, diffraction was an issue, but with modern software I don't see a problem. I do use my tripods for focus stacking in my garden studio, but that is under reasonably controlled conditions.
